Incredible! Best ice cream I’ve had in a while! Very generous with samples to make sure you get what you like!

I’ve only had the ice cream(since the addition of Ms. T’s), and it’s SOGOOD. I had PB&J and Honey Cinnamon Graham. The PB&J is die for for! I’ll be back to try the banana pudding… and cakes, pies, and fried chicken. A strange combo, but everything looks delicious. *Also, I first tried the ice cream here about a year ago, and I wasn’t impressed. The texture was off. It’s much, much better now. Creamy and perfect! Give the ice cream another try if you didn’t like it before.

This place is AMAZING, and the reason why I won’t have a bikini bod this summer — no regrets, no regrets. I don’t know what they do to make the ice cream so delicious. It has the perfect creamy consistency and there are so many amazing flavors. My personal favorites are chocolate harmony(major sweet tooth ppl rejoice!), PB&J(yes they have PB&J ice cream. With chocolate chunks!) and raspberry cookies and cream. I’ve sampled their other baked goods too and die a little inside every time. The people who work there are incredibly friendly and nice, too. Sure, there are other places for ice cream or dessert on Broadway, but I don’t know why anyone would go anywhere else.

We were driving by and reading different storefronts; when we read ice cream, we started craving it! We turned the car around and ventured in with high hopes! The girl behind the counter was really friendly and encouraged us to try samples. I finally got the old school lunch room and my fiancé got the chocolate banana. We were trying to go for 3 but only found 2 flavored we liked because many others were quite basic. The quantities are comparatively small and the scoop left us craving for more. But I did enjoy my flavor and the ice cream texture!

No complaints. Great customer service and the peach cobbler ice cream was amazing! Would recommend without hesitation.

The negative reviews I’m seeing about this place all mention it not being the fanciest place or the air conditioning not being sufficient, while I didn’t experience either of these laments, I’m going review what this spot is named for — ice to the cream. Truly incredible original and classic flavors that changed my life to the verge of existential crisis. Harmony flavor — try it. Going back tomorrow!

I walked in, not sure what to get or if I really wanted anything. I was thinking about a milk shake, but a great recommendation and sample later, and I was having one of the best ice cream combinations I’ve ever had, and it was something I wouldn’t have thought to pair myself: lemon and lunchroom cookie. I even ended up walking out with a pint of a third flavor because I liked them that much. What it came down to for me are their flavor combinations. They make their ice cream in house, and, they’re inventive not just for the sake of inventiveness. The flavors I had worked together really well and had clearly been treated and considered. The woman at the counter was really nice and helpful, too. When she wasn’t sure if they had enough of a flavor to pack into a point, she offered to sell me what there was and charge me based on how much of the pint she could fill. Not only that, but after we ended up chatting a bit, she offered to keep my pint in their freezer for me until I was ready to go. All in all, this became one of my favorite ice cream places in one visit. I’ll definitely be back.

I’m actually surprised this place has four stars. We went one evening a few weeks back and it was really hot inside which resulted in many of the ice cream tubs being melted pools vs. solid ice cream(what limited flavors they did have… a lot of tubs were empty.) Service was strange as well… asked the guy behind the counter which of the remaining flavors he recommended/were most popular and got a half-hearted«they’re all good, I’d recommend them all.» Thanks for the… tip? I actually wanted to leave right then and there but my boyfriend was really set on getting some ice cream. We ended up trying the two of the three flavors that were not completely melted. $ 8 for the TEENSIEST two scoops I’ve ever seen, probably four tablespoons worth total. It made the gelato place down the street look like a downright value to be honest. And it wasn’t even good… Very grainy, icy texture. Will never be back.

Delicious! I got the Cinnamon Graham Cracker and Jamaican Rum Raisin. Really high quality ice cream. A tad bit expensive compared to other options but well worth it. I highly recommend Shawn Michelle’s

Best ice cream ever. Absolutely delicious, wonderful service, decent pricing. The ice cream cookie sandwich was incredible. Two large chocolate chip cookies and two heaping scoops of ice cream for $ 8. Totally worth it.

This was the 2nd time going here and everyone was beyond rude. They also charged $ 4 for not even a full scoop of ice cream. Looking forward to this going out of business with all the better options around in both value and customer service.

2 stars for service– pretty sure the guys scooping were high, and just not a sugar high from scooping ice cream. Neither of the guys could remember anything. We had to ask to pay for our ice cream after repeating our order, 1 scoop at a time, multiple times. 3.5 stars for the ice cream. Good, unique flavors. That’s the part to love. Most of the ice cream was melty as the AC wasn’t working on a 93 degree day and a little icy/crystals. 2 stars for ambiance. The bad jokes by the stoners as they put their latex glove on to scoop ice cream didn’t help. No AC didn’t help either. This is tough. I really want to love this place, support small business, etc.

Shawn Michelle’s recently opened up right near my old apartment building, and though there’s no shortage of ice cream places in the area, it’s still a welcome addition! I dropped by over the weekend to try their honey cinnamon graham cracker ice cream after my friend said she’d sampled it and liked it. Really enjoyed the flavor — perhaps a little on the sweet side, but the graham crackers added a nice chew. The missing fifth star is simply because I thought the texture of the ice cream could’ve been creamier — it felt a little gritty/sandy — and the interior of the shop is a little musty/not that welcoming. Both fairly minor concerns, especially since they just opened, and I think they have the potential to improve and work out the kinks with time. I’d still recommend stopping by!

Delicious homemade ice cream. I especially recommend the honey cinnamon graham cracker flavor… I could eat that every day! The strawberry cookies and cream was also delicious and creamy, and they have a nice selection of unusual flavors such as PB and J or Four C(they were unfortunately out of this when I went, but it stands for Chocolate Caramel Cookie Crunch!). I’ve been to a lot of ice cream shops since I’ve got somewhat of a sugar problem, and I love the feel of Shawn Michelle’s. It’s tiny with friendly staff and unlimited samples :). It’s also pretty affordable and I am excited to try their other flavors!

We stumbled upon the shop by accident and im really glad i got tempted by the free sample. the ice cream is simple and delicious and the«kids» working there this after were so personable and friendly. they made the experience of getting the ice cream as fun as eating it. the only part where id take off was the price. 2 ice cream sandwices cost me nearly 18 bucks which is a bit high. they were really big, but the price on the chalkboard said 5.95, so i guess i wasn’t ready to shell out 20 bucks. I’ll be back though. this was a really nice treat.

This is my new favorite ice cream place in Chicago! The honey graham cracker, banana pudding, and coconut are my favorite flavors thus far. I would recommend getting the small size because the sugar content is pretty high. I personally forgive them about this because the flavors are really good and arent’ masked by the sweetness.

Very friendly staff and wow the ice cream is terrific! I’ve tried both the graham cracker and strawberry flavors. Both were wonderful The strawberry tasted fresh and natural too. The atmosphere is quite plain, but perhaps more decorative as time goes on. Yummy treats so I will go back.

This stretch of Broadway is becoming the battleground for ice-cream and gelato peddlers. Shawn Michelle apparently is not scared of a little competition. I had their smallest cup of Peanut Butter and Jelly. It was great! I didn’t taste any jelly though which is fine with me. The serving is definitely small. Cost was about $ 3.29(I think). I’ve had Windy City Sweets and Paciugo before. I think Shawn Michelle was better. I guess my next review will be L’Appetito gelato? They weren’t accepting credit cards today, FYI.

Went there for the first time today and absolutely loved it. Had the salted caramel and honey cinnamon graham cracker, both were amazing! Can’t wait to go back and try other great flavors. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It is a nice new addition to the neighborhood.
