Me and my small child of a sandwich are in and out of this place in no time even in lunch rush hour. I get the biggest sub they offer and it keeps me full on days I’m so busy I can’t find time to stop and eat. They aren’t stingy on the ingredients and are really quick and fairly affordable of an option in the neighborhood. Definitely won me over, I’ll be back.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have worked in the building since September and been to Snarf’s for a morning bagel a total of three times. What other people say on here is very true, the staff is moves at a snail’s pace. EVERYSINGLETIME they have messed up my bagel order and also once they messed up my coffee order as well. It’s first thing in the morning, so I need to start my day. I get up to my office, open up my bagel only to find out they messed it up. Once could be forgiven, two could be a fluke, but three times and shame on me for not learning my lesson. So, I went down on my third mess up. I told the guy that they messed up my bagel and that I had been there a total of three times and every times they messed up my bagel. I was definitely not happy. HIs response to me was: «I personally did not mess up your bagel.» Seriously?! The hilarious thing is that he was the one who took my order, so the chances that it was him who messed it up are about 50%. He never apologized, and he looked very annoyed with me. There was never any offer to give me a free coffee or gift card or anything really. At this point, my blood was boiling. When he hands me my bagel I look at him and say, «I can’t even believe this.» And as I’m walking away he says: «Well, you don’t have to come back then.» I turned right around and asked for the manager. He said there was not a manager on duty. So, I asked for the phone number to reach the manager. He told me there was no number to reach the manager. At this point, I had really lost my cool and I told him he was a f*$@%!*g asshole. Yup, I lost my cool to the point of name calling. I’m not proud of it, but it happened. His response was: «You don’t have to come back here, we don’t need to be treated like that.» I’ll leave it to you to decide who was in the right. Good luck getting your order correct at this place or having your food delivered in a timely, friendly, customer service oriented way. Before he told me not to come back, I had already decided I would never come back because they would never get my order correct anyway!

Great soups, decent sandwiches, however it totally sucks that the restaurant is not opened on the weekend. In addition, they close promptly at 2pm, which also sucks.

Don’t go here unless you have ample time to wait for okay food. Given the lack of options in the area, I have found myself here a few times waiting 15+ minutes for something as simple as a bagel with cream cheese. Ordering ahead online proves to be more frustrating, as orders are not ready at the stated times.

Not really great sandwiches, maybe ½ as good as Potbelly’s. Also the worst Tomato Basil Soup I have ever had.

This place has gone from bad to worse. Sorry excuse for a restaurant — the management of 600 W Chicago needs to step in and get a vendor here who knows how to operate a restaurant and deserves the cash cow status of the only lunch place in the entire building. Have been here 10+ times. The past 3 times I have gone, they have been completely out of decaf coffee/espresso, and no one seems to care that this is a pattern. Captive audience=mediocre food, long lines, and embarrassingly inefficient service(though not sure it’s the staff’s fault, but more management and processes — like why do we have to sign a receipt for a $ 2 coffee?) Too bad there are no other fast lunch places around this enormous office building.

Blah, I am so incredibly sick of eating snarfs. So so sick of it. The staff literally moves in slow motion. It’s like watching a movie on slow play because I just can’t figure out how they can move that slow, and I watch the staff move and it’s almost painful. The food isn’t that good and it’s overpriced, which I guess they can do seeing they are they only option available in the building but the food isn’t even that good, and they don’t have cheddar cheese, which has been bugging me for the 4 years or however long it’s been that they’ve been in the building. I will admit that the chicken noodle soup hits the spot when I’m not feeling awesome(aka incredibly hungover) and still have a full day of work ahead of me, which is the ONLY reason I gave them 2 stars.

the sandwiches and salad’s are pretty good. normally the staff is very friendly which helps when you ‘get snarfed’. sadly, the time it takes to receive your order and the many times your order is incorrect has now become a verb with all of the workers at the 600 chicago building. from my very first visit the time it took to receive my order was incredibly long. in several visits after this my order was wrong or even forgotten about until i spoke with the staff some 20 minutes later at which point they immediately made my salad. i thought this was just my experience until i heard a co-worker mention someone ‘getting snarfed’, and i immediately understood what this meant. good food but often insanely slow service and incorrect orders.

Snarf’s food is sustenance in the classic sense. If necessary, it’ll keep you alive. But fair warning: if their service is what’s standing between you and starvation, decent chance you die waiting.

I’m just stealing what this guy said word for word, because it’s a perfect description of this pathetic excuse of a restaurant. If you were going to open a restaurant you would have to go out of your way to run it this poorly. It’s incredible how terrible this place is. «Amazingly bad: slow service, constantly messed up orders, poor quality of food, steady churn of both management and regular employees. Now we are greeted with „summer hours“ which means that if you want anything after 2pm you are out of luck. I would give this place 6 more months before the close for for good this time. The 600W office building management really should step in and ensure that they can get a competent operator in this space for the sake of their brand and their tenants.»

Slow as sh***t. Idk if the cashier is new, but she takes forever to count chain back, and could improve her professionalism. I miss the old days with the old crew who ran two registers and you hardly had time to think about what you wanted before you arrived to the register! The rest of the workers seem to be on top of things and move quickly in the morning. The quality of sandwiches have gone way down. Not as much taste and fill up on things such as lettuce versus tuna/meat. Snarfs burgers however are always super tasty! but also can be slow. If you go here I recommend the coffee, burgers, frings.

I really wanted to like Snarf’s, especially because the online order system is intuitive and very customizable, but after ordering two sandwiches online from them and having the orders messed up, delayed and lost both times, I’m definitely going to avoid this location again.

Underwhelming. Had a shoot in that building and didn’t have time to really go anywhere else. As a vegetarian I was disappointed at how few options there were for me. I ended up getting a grilled cheese, and it was the saddest sandwich in the world. My friend got a meatball sandwich and described it as adequate but not amazing.

Good sandwiches, mediocre service. Our sandwiches took 15 min to come out; one of my friends got an Italian sandwich which consists of cold cuts and he got his last, probably around the 20 min mark. I’d understand if it was packed but we were next up in ordering the food.

My gym is in the building so I come here often after a great workout. Their sandwiches are all good and I love that everything is truly made to order. I’ve even came here for breakfast which is also good. Because all the food is maid to order be prepared to wait a little

Come to Snarfs for slow service, stoned employees and cold subs that take 15 minutes to make. The actual sandwiches are good but the process of obtaining them is a challenge.

The food here is pretty ok, I guess. However, the people that work here are not very nice and don’t seem very service oriented. The seem like real cool cats, but if this job is beneath them… they should get another one. I’m not sure I understand why management doesn’t do anything about this.

This is a review just for the burgers.(I love the sandwiches.) I read a review below that said it was the worst, driest, crunchiest burger ever and thought maybe that guy just got a bad one… or that it was like one of those flattened griddled burgers with the crispy edges, but no. Crispy is different from hard and crunchy and this was definitely hard and crunchy. And dry, very dry. The meat looks a little fake and somehow manages to be both dry/crunchy and yet somehow really chewy. It took about 25 minutes for this burger and maybe if it had been pulled off the griddle 15 minutes prior it could have been saved, but I’m not even willing to get on that. The workers were friendly at least.

A bunch of coworkers and I decided to try Snarf’s over lunch one day, having heard a good deal of good things about it. I won’t address labor relations issues in my review, so consider this solely about the food. I walked in and thought I was in a Potbelly’s. From the fonts to the toppings, it all looked pretty darn similar. Alas, I’m not sure who copied who, or if the copying was accidental or intentional, but it was really hard to shake the similarities. For my sandwich, I got a roast beef and provolone with my usual toppings(lettuce, tomato, pickle, oil and italian seasoning) and found that despite the fact I could not get this sandwich at Potbelly’s, it was… dry. So I wandered back to the counter, and asked politely for a cup of barbecue sauce. Now we’re talking. The sauce helped moisten things up, and added a great smoky flavor that made the sandwich perfect. Now that I know that sauces are preferred on these sandwiches, I’m looking forward to grabbing something else from Snarf’s soon.
