Very hesitant about the location(NW Hospital building) i succumbed because of my soft spot for the chain. It used to be my staple lunch when i worked in the loop. I got the soup and Sandwich combo $ 8.99 or something close. The minestrone was nice and warm, chicken panini was not warm and much below standard. I liked the outdoor patio, the crew that manned the area were super efficient and polite.

Very average. I ordered the Italian Salad and it was 90% lettuce. The toppings were barely visible. A real rip off. My husband ordered the Turino Sandwich. He said it was all bread and boring. There are plenty of other places in the area to choose from and I will. Sopprafifina is not worth the stop.

Tried their milano sandwich, it was pretty bleh. I’ve had better paninis from my high school cafeteria

Today I was in the mood to try something new and wanted to sit outdoors to enjoy the nice weather. I decided to stop by sopraffina for lunch and it was packed when I arrived. But, they had someone handing out menus while you wait in line and it moved quickly. I ordered the Samantha salad, which ended up being $ 8.83 with tax. I found a table and in less than 10 minutes my food had arrived. I think the salad was a decent portion size, but I wish it would have included a baguette or an apple to go along with my meal, I think I’ve been spoiled by panera. The salad was ok, nothing great. Overall, not a bad spot for lunch, but not my first choice either.

After the lunch rush, you definitely get the B team working here. If it’s after 3:00pm, prepare to have indifference slap you in the face. I’ve never sent my order back before 3:00. The lunch team is on point though. The late shift is uneducated about basic things a person in the food industry should know such as what gluten is.

Sopraffina has a great pick 2 deal for about $ 8. I got the farmhand salad(candied walnuts, goat cheese, tomatoes, lettuce with a sweet vinaigrette) and loved it. It’s a fairly large portion for a pick 2 deal. I also got the margarita pizza with added mushrooms. I love the super crispy thin crust! Makes me feel a bit less guilty!

A little pricey but that is to be expected for deep downtown Chicago. Lots of healthy options(makes sense since it’s next to Northwestern Hospital offices). Parking is pretty much non-existent unless you are patient or just head straight for the parking decks(but plan to pay 25 – 35 bucks.

I had the penne pasta with chicken and(add) spinach(minus mushrooms, peas & red peppers) in a tomato basil cream sauce. The serving size is actually enough for 2 people and the chicken in the dish was surprisingly plentiful. Overall, it was pretty darn good. I put crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese on the pasta for a little bit of a kick and extra flavor. I also had a baguette, which reminded me of potato bread and was delicious. For dessert, I had a slice of the lemon tea cake which was also good. Jason, who took my order at the register, was very helpful and had excellent customer service skills. This was my 1st visit and he helped me with my choices and was patient, which I appreciated! With good food and great service… I will definitely return to Sopraffina!

I was excited to see a new dining option in the Northwestern Hospital where I spend most of my days. Unfortunately I left disappointed, and still hungry. Came here for a late lunch with a friend and we had the Turino sandwich and whatever Pasta special-of-the-day they had. 45 seconds after ordering, our food was ready — making me apprehensive as to how fresh the food was. Both dishes were bland and tasteless. The pasta literally just tasted like… pasta. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. Thought I will still try their fancier Cicchetti restaurant next door. Perhaps all their energy goes into that location.

I might have to stop in a try a few more times to give Sopraffina a better review, but for now I’ll say that I was a little disappointed with the pizza. I had a half of the tucsan sausage pizza and while the sauce had a unique taste, it still tasted kind of blah. I will say that the service was extremely friendly and the dining area is clean and spacious. Great dining option for those who work in the area and at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Stop in early Sunday morning and enjoyed delicious scrabbled eggs, bacon, country fried potatoes and it was all, tasty quickly prepared and reasonably priced! I will be back!

Came by for a quick lunch and to check out the new spot. It was pretty hectic at lunch time but the line moved really quickly. The food came out fast and was really fresh. I really enjoyed my half of a pizza. I really think that the option for half of pizza is a great amount for lunch and totally affordable.

Attention doctors, nurses, techs, admins and other hospital and health care folk: Sopraffina is now open in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The ratty, Stroger-esque Corner Robbery can now be sent off to hospice. Go for the ultra thin crust pizza and espresso. You’re welcome. P. S. Hope to never see you in your official capacities. Just saying.

So I’ve just got my pancreas successfully removed. No complications, no take home catheter. The operation ran smoother than Larry David’s head. So I’m standing on Fairbanks avenue and I’m thinking ‘boy am I hungry. What am I gonna have for lunch?’ Obviously I can’t go back to corner bakery since the incident but I head that way thinking that worse case scenario I can give a fake name to the teller. That’s when I stumble across sopraffina market café and let me tell you this was a sight for sore eyes(or pancreas if you know what I mean)! I’m telling you this place is the Streisand of the lunchtime rush. I don’t know why it’s in a hospital because the food is 100% antibiotic free! I’m tossing up between the corn chowder or a turkey panini(even though I’m scared I’m gonna get a subway job) when I realize I can pick a pair. So I get half and half! Everybody wins. And let me tell you that this panini is more of an L train than a subway if you know what I mean. All in all it was a great experience and I look forward to getting my other pancreas removed! Or at least a kidney!

Well hello new lunch and dinner option. I’ve been to the Sopraffina on Dearborn over by my job so I was happy to see one was going to be opening in my neighborhood. The space is pretty large which is a good thing seeing how it’s inside the hospital and I am sure will draw a huge crowd, especially with those good old 10 degree days coming our way. I recommend this place if you are looking for a quick Italian meal that’s under $ 12. A good option is the pick a pair which allows you to get either half a salad or cup of soup and half a panini, pizza, lasagna or stuffed shells. If you get the pick a pair if suggest you get half salad(Samantha Salad) and half a pizza(Tuscan Sausage). If you are looking for a sandwich I’d recommend Chiana(grass fed antibiotic free beef tenderloin, roasted red peppers and onions, fontina cheese, lettuce, horseradish mayo), Cortina(antibiotic free smoked turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and pesto mayo) or Turino(sliced antibiotic free chicken breast, roasted red peppers, roasted zucchini, mozzarella, lettuce, mayo and sun-dried tomato pesto).

So many delicious options, and all the salads and sandwiches are available in half options, which are large! Italian Cobb and Milano are both great, except that the«mixed greens» in the salad seemed to be just lettuce. Would prefer dark leafy greens. The sandwich bread is very soft and all the sandwiches I’ve had we’re amazing. Toffee cookie(baked in house!) is yummy but doesn’t have enough toffee in it. Definitely getting the fresh brewed ice tea next time!

Watch out Corner Bakery and Au Bön Pain– there’s a new kid in town! I was on my way out and happened to stumble upon their opening day. I’ve never been to other Sopraffinas around the city, but I was super excited to hear that their ENTIRE menu is available in the early hours. Night owls and vampires, rejoice! You can get a nice made-to-order lunch/dinner-for-breakfast! At 8am, I happily split their margherita pizza with a cup of fresh fruit. Lots of staff were around to help direct and get people acclimated to their shiny new interiors. After chatting it up with their barista, we found out they were also prepping their adjacent sit-down restaurant. Great lunch addition to the medical block, as well as a place for fatigued michigan-aveners to grab a bite. **UPDATE** Went back a second time for an early morning pizza craving. They don’t serve their lunch food ’til after 10am. Couldn’t get even get a cup of chicken noodle soup. However, their veggie frittata with fruit and potatoes was still good!
