I actually found this place using Unilocal, and it had said that it was BYOB, so I showed up with a few beers and some friends. Later did we find out that is wasn’t BYOB, but the owner was awesome about it. He just charged each of us the price of a cocktail, basically a corking fee, and we had a great meal. The food was awesome and it’s definitely one my «go-to» places

Some friends and I did the murder mystery dinner. After starting the show 40 minutes LATE, it was actually fun. the actors stayed in character and they picked audience members to participate as side characters. The food was meh, but after waiting an hr I was just glad it was hot. If you go and get the blond male server, don’t order anything, just get your drinks at the bar. he moved so slow, I forgot what drink I ordered. They didn’t offer bread for the table while we waited for the salad and the tables were a bit wobbly so watch out that you don’t lean on them.

The audience participative Murder Mystery dinner was NOT fun. As an audience character, you have a binder to read. To figure out who done it, you have cards and papers with paragraphs of text to read. Audio was difficult to hear and understand. Start with the tourist trap photo op that you will never see. Where did it go??? Bottomless Caesar Salad. Meat Lasagna was salty. Need to request bread and butter for sauce dipping experience. Petito Tiramisu. Diner coffee. Laminated tipping guideline on table. The MC would remind you as well before dismissal. Some enjoyed being the audience character. Maybe you will too?!

I went to the Murder Mystery(MM) event on Friday, October 18. Wasn’t exactly what I expected… but didn’t have big expectations to begin with! The show was to begin at 7p. Hubby and I arrived at 630p, per emailed instructions. Upon arrival, we were directed to the bar area. It soon filled up with many people. However, by 715p, we were still waiting. About 725p, everyone was directed into the«dining area» for the show. 730p came…745p came…8p came… probably around 815p… the show started. During my wait(for the show to start), I read the«hard copy overview» of the event. I did not know that it was interactive… meaning, the«suspects» would have to go from table to table to identify themselves as such and everyone was to chat and mingle, with the people at your table, about the«murder». For some reason, I thought it would be more of a play, where a murder would occur and the audience to figure out. Anyhoo, we received our drinks about 8p. Food arrived around 845p. The vegetarian pasta was cold and flavorless. Hubby ordered the lasagna; it was decent, but nothing to write home about. At 930p, the show was still going on… I left when the«host» indicated he would have to speak to all 15 suspects and reveal all the«clues» to the murder. Overall, it was LONG! Really LONG and drawn out! Hubby and I felt that the MM company have you wait for so long, so the restaurant can make money off of the drinks. You’re practically sitting for 1.5 hours — what else are you going to do! With all the waiting around, my interest simply fizzled. The«dining room area» wasn’t the optimal space for this type of show. With the mingling and delivery of food/drinks, it was extremely cramped. This is a mark off the bucket list! I won’t attend another one.

Very kid friendly spot for good traditional Italian food. They allow kids to «make their own pizza» which is just letting them put the cheese and toppings on. Our little guy loved it. Caesar salad was very good, I had the penne Roma and my wife had the penne pecorino. Both were very good. Only complaint was bread was just ok, but that didn’t stop our boys from eating it. I would recommend Monday nights half off wine night. Nice deal.

Nice place but they need new valet people. My friends and I went for dinner last night and did valet. One friend handed her ticket, they brought her car up, and off she went. Now when my car came, my friend gave the valet a $ 20 for the $ 7 valet and she said, Can I get $ 10 back? Now… looking back, she should have said nothing and let him give back exact change so we could then tip him after. But anyways, so we’ve now tipped the valet $ 3 and guess what he did — handed us our keys and said, Your car’s parked across the street over there. I said to him, Usually valets bring up the car for the customer??? And he just looked at us. What in the flipping heck of all hecks?! This was quite infuriating to us all — what a useless valet. So — do not use the valet at Sopranos. And Sopranos, please hire a new valet company as the current one is reflecting quite badly on y’all.

Place was okay. They were able to accommodate a lot of people though. We came here for a party a while ago and the place is very big and very accommodating. Food is okay, but it’s spacious. Price– A bit high for entrees(around $ 25-$ 30) but there are other reasonably priced items Quality– It was good. Not the most amazing, but good Quantity– You can get good sized portions for the entrees Atmosphere– Very big and traditional italian design Staff– Very very nice and accommodating. Helped with this party and made it great.

This place is absolutely terrible and what is worse is that they aren’t even trying. They are completely phoning it in. This is closer to an Olive Garden than a typical downtown italian restaurant, but without the consistency and presentation of the Olive Garden. Nobody should waste their time or money attempting to dine here. I am going to start my review with 2 quick observations from my dinner that should convince anyone who knows italian food that they have no business dining here. If nothing else, just read these 2 points: Deal Killer 1: We ordered one of the pizzas as an appetizer. Noticed that the crust was PERFECTLY round and that the toppings hadn’t adhered to the crust so everything was just falling off. YEP, THEYUSED A FROZENCRUST. This is supposedly an italian restaurant and they have 8 or 10 different pizzas on the menu, but they are using factory-made and frozen crusts and sticking them in the oven still frozen. Terrible. Deal Killer 2: Friend ordered the chicken parmesan, which like chicken parmesan everywhere comes with some pasta. The dish came out and the pasta hadn’t been cooked in the marinara. As is the plate comes out and it is plain boiled noodles and some of it had been covered by a ladling of marinara sauce, but about half of it had not been touched by marinara so was already dry and crusty by the time it reached the table. As I thought everyone knew, but apparently not this«italian» restaurant, the way you cook pasta is by boiling it until it is –almost– done and then finishing it in a pan with the marinara to impart the sauce flavors into the noodles and to prevent them from drying out. Sopranos served their pasta like you might expect from roadside diner in rural Montana, not as you would expect from a downtown italian restaurant. Other observations: –We also ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and it was one of the smallest orders I have ever seen, accentuated by the fact that it was served on a rather large plate which made it seem like the order would usually be larger but they just gave me whatever was left in the bag. –Having read the positive reviews on Unilocal,I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. Whatever they served me wasn’t what other people have gotten. My ravioli was stuffed with cheese, not lobster, and when I remarked as much to the waitress she said, «Oh the lobster isn’t in the ravioli it is sprinkled on top». Well that is not what it says on the menu. It is true that there was something sprinkled on top of the ravioli that had a somewhat fishy taste and grainy texture. I don’t really want to know what it was. –Having read the positive comments on Unilocal about their bread and with none having been brought to my table, I inquired around the mid point of my meal about whether we might get some. Now for the sake of full disclosure we had ordered an appetizer almost immediately after sitting down and so I don’t fault them for not having brought out bread already, but her response when I asked her about it was, «Oh the reason you haven’t gotten any is because we serve that to people who order pastas». This was strange on multiple levels as(1) I have never heard of such a policy and(2) I had ordered the ravioli. Anyways, by the time our entrees had come with still hadn’t received bread. Another reminder that we’d like to try it and we did receive a bread basket. It was nothing special nor was the herb butter that they served it with –With the Unilocal check-in promotion in mind, towards the end of the(already horrendous) meal I asked to see a dessert menu. My waitress related that there was no dessert menu but that she could recite the items for me. I opted for the brownie with ice cream, which sounded delicious, until it arrived covered in previously unmentioned nuts. And I am allergic to nuts. It seems like a small thing I guess but so many people have allergies and most restaurants I visit are very conscious about food allergy issues. I suppose it was par for the course as far as this restaurant’s professionalism. All in all one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had in Chicago.

We did the murder mystery dinner here. The food was okay. the show was not really worth the money. Had a groupon other wise Id be extremely mad for wasting money. Wouldn’t come come back. But worth at least one visit to see what its all about.

I ate dinner here because of a Murdery Mystery dinner. We had a «three course meal» that consisted of a salad, meat lasagna, & tiramisu. The food was mediocre. The salad was… well, a salad. It was just romaine lettuce with some caesar dressing. The lasagna tasted mostly of parmesan cheese, but it wasn’t anything special. The tiramisu was too«watery» if that makes sense.

This was the first time dinning here and I must say it was excellent. We both had the lobster ravioli. This was some of the best ravioli I have ever eaten. The portion size was perfect and the favors were spot on. The place is realy nice for any occassion. Just want to meet with friends or a date. Casual dress or something nicer works. Nice clean restrooms. Highly recommend it, we will definately be returning.

The place looks like it is somewhere you would take the kids after their big T-ball game. If you look at the posted pictures, you will notice the red checkered table coverings. It seems like it would be a pizza and burgers joint, yet they are trying to pull off a fine-italian menu and I am not sure why. The menu titles are written in a very hard to read fancy font — again, not warranted when the décor doesn’t match. I liked the choices of the menu, but I just wish they were in an actual nice italian restaurant. The pasta I had was OK, but certainly not great. Tasted like it didn’t have any special seasonings. Just a bland sauce I could have made at home. The prices look great for the menu items, but I think that equals out because the food was meh. The selection of beer/wine/spirits was okay though. If you are looking for a place to go for pizza and drinks with friends, this would be a great place to try. I didn’t try their pizza, but that is what I should have gotten in retrospect. I would not go here for a nice italian dinner. The menu is a trick in that respect. I think this place might have an identity crisis.

I went here for lunch recently. This place is pretty cute. It was practically empty but it was during the week in the middle of the week. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive. I had a salad which was very good. There was another table that had pasta which looked amazing. i would definitely go back to try other things on the menu. i think i\this is a cute date place.

The best thing about this place is the ambiance and the service… that deserves 4.5 stars. The food nothing spectacular. The fococcia was less than amazing… to fluffy and not enough seasoning. The grilled seafood appetizer had really good seasoning, but the salmon on the plate was very bland and should be eliminated. I ordered rigatoni roma… it was good, but nothing to write home about. My friend ordered veal marsala… the sauce was very tasty, but the veal just ok. The tiramisu is a dessert I would never order from there again… very little flavor and if I did get a hint a flavor it was all coffee. I give the food 2 stars! Would I go back? Yes, with a large group but it’s not something that I will be keeping on my radar for future dinners. There are so many other great Italian restaurants in Chicago. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and pass by this restaurant hundreds of times… telling myself, that I need to check it out. I haven’t really been missing out on anything that special. That being said, maybe I ordered the wrong meal.

3.5 Stars for this classic Italian restaurant. The atmosphere here was great and fun, but not like a chain restaurant per say. Service was great, fast and friendly. They have your basic Italian favorites. Good wine and drink selections and healthy portions. Nothing stuck out too great on this visit as a must have for food. I would avoid the terramisu, despite it being recommended by the staff, we did not find it all that great! It’s a fun place for a larger group. This place is definitely about the experience more than the food.

I was visiting friends in Chicago last weekend and we decided to grab dinner at Sopranos before checking out some of the bars in Lincoln Park. Although our experience started off rocky, by the end of the night, all was forgiven. We arrived around 8 p.m. to find about two thirds of the restaurant full. The wait staff seemed to be scrambling around and we had to wait several minutes before the host came over to help us. When we were finally helped, we were told that they were full for the night and without a reservation we probably couldn’t get a table – which was strange, considering the abundance of empty tables. However, the host said he would check he went away again for about 10 minutes, leaving us awkwardly standing around to wait. When he came back, he said although he technically wasn’t allowed to seat anyone else, we could get a table if we weren’t in a rush. The whole process was a little weird, and probably could have been handled better, but we were happy to get a table. Once we were seated, everything was excellent. We were quickly helped and there wasn’t a delay in getting our dinner. And the food? Delicious! Definitely some of the best Italian cuisine I’ve had in a while. I tried the house specialty, the rigatoni carbonara. It was top-notch. A creamy blend of sun-dried tomatoes, peas, mushrooms and prosciutto in a cream sauce. My friends ordered the lasagna and the sopranos pizza – both were delicious as well. When I decided to take a break from my meal and check-in on Unilocal,I was excited to see a «Free Dessert» check-in offer. We were able to get a $ 7 dessert, the brownie sundae, to split for free. Pretty good deal! Throughout the meal, our waitress was attentive and friendly. So, although we had a rocky beginning with Sopranos, I’m already ready to go back next time I’m in town!

I’ve walked by a million times and seen a live band playing through the window, but the one time I went was a weekend night and they didn’t have the band so I don’t know if that’s every weekend or only on certain weekends. It’s a charming interior with servers in pressed white shirts/black ties. It’s sort of like what you see everywhere. The wine selection was extensive, but my server didn’t seem all that knowledgeable so we just went with a less expensive wine and we were pleased. My friend and I both ordered the lobster bisque to start with. It was good, more tomato flavor than lobster. Then we both ordered lobster ravioli for our entrée. We thought that both the soup and the ravioli tasted exactly the same. That’s probably our fault. In retrospect, I realize ordering the lobster soup and lobster pasta may have been overkill. So that’s a mistake I won’t make again. Other than that, I might come back for a special occasion or romantic dinner.

Thumbs up: 1. The name: Sopranos!!! 2. The food: The Burger was delicious, the fries were awesome. Why I am I eating burgers at Italian place? Because they were good! Overall 4stars for the food. Thumbs down: 1. Ambience: Looks like an old diner converted into a restaurant 2. Service
