Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaning

You get what you pay for.
I called to get an estimate on my 5×8 shag area rug… $ 40 bucks. Not bad! And extra $ 10 for scotch guard… great! $ 50 for pick up/​drop off. not so great but if I had more than one rug it would certainly be worth the price. I asked if there were locations to drop off myself and the closest one to me was the one on 89^th St. I asked for their number and they said the couldn’t give it out but told me their hours of operations and said all drop offs and pick ups should be done between 9 am and 4 pm.
I hang up the phone and leave work to head over there on my lunch break. The place is a small warehouse/​garage with a small sign indicating the business. Definitely doesn’t look like a place people frequent often. There is a sign on the door that says to knock so I do. No answer. Knock louder. Still no answer. I decide to call the 800 number again. Lady tells me she can’t give me the number but she can call them for me. She puts me on hold and after a couple minutes comes back to tell me there is no answer. She asked if I want to leave them a voice mail so she transfers me to voice mail and I leave a message saying I wanted to drop off a rug for cleaning and I head back to work. Slightly annoyed, but hey… I got out of the office for 30 mins.
Couple hours later I get a call from the manager saying he got my message and I can drop the rug off he will be there for an hour. I tell him I can’t leave work again and will have to do it another day and asked for a drop off time. He told me he couldn’t give me one but said to call in the morning the day I want to drop it off and he will tell me a time. Fine.
Call the 800 number the next day to get transferred to this «office» because I still wasn’t given a direct line. The manager answers and tells me he will be there for about 45 mins so if I want to drop it off I had to get there before he left or else no one would be there the rest of the day. At this point I am feeling really annoyed but hey… I chose to not abandon ship and follow through with the drop off.
I drop off the rug and get my receipt which lists the same price as what I was originally quoted so that was a relief. I asked how long it would be and he said 1 week. This was Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Manager said they would call when it was ready.
I didn’t receive a phone call after the first week. I figured with the Holidays they were busy so I gave it another week. Didn’t receive a phone call after the second week. I call the 800 number Monday, the 15^th and ask about my rug and I get the usual… Please hold and we will call the office. She calls and leaves them a voice mail because… surprise! No answer. She gives them my name and number to call me back about my rug.
I don’t get a call Tuesday. I call first thing Wednesday and get put on hold and she comes back to tell me the rug is ready for pick up and I can pick up any day M-​F 9 – 4 pm. I told her I needed a pick up time and the woman on the phone gives me an attitude and tells me «I just told you between 9 – 4 M-​F.» I asked her to call them back and get an exact day and time for me because they hardly ever have anyone on site. She says «FINE» with so much attitude I wised it was possibly to slap someone through a phone. She comes back on and tells me if I want the rug I should go now or else no one will be there until 3 pm and she just hangs up.
All said and done… The rug is clean, smells nice, and was cheap but what a hassle from start to finish. Would I use them again? Likely not.

Shady! Unprofessional and uneasy feeling from the guys who came out to provide the estimate. Definitely not using them anytime soon.

I sought Stanley for their commercial ads and reputation. Booking an appointment online was easy. The cleaner showed up with the scheduled time and finished relatively quickly. However, he did try to upsell, as expected and the carpet did not get as clean as I expected. I also did not like the fact that I reserved a special online and was told I would receive the price afterwards, from the cleaner. As expected, the cleaner knew nothing about the price special/​discount.
Would I use them again, probably not. I only gave 3 stars for the ease and convenience of booking, payment setup, professionalism and the ontime arrival.
The actual cleaning and getting the best price for the value could be better.

Easy to make appointment online late Saturday night. Showed up on time on Monday morning! Very professional and friendly service men. Worked really hard and left my carpets in beautiful condition. I honestly had no idea they could look so good!
I had another visit from Stanley Steemer and they only spent ¹⁄₃ of the time these young men did. They really did a GREAT job. Thank you.

Very disappointed in Stanley Steemer today. They gave me an estimated arrival time of between 1pm and 4pm. Mind you, I live right around the corner from this location. i guess they left me to the end so they could easily get off work. I received a call about 2:52 saying they would arrive at 4:30. I think not. i cancelled the appointment. I’ve been waiting on them since 1pm. i do demand better customer service.

Rashard and Antonio did a great job. Very professional, floors looked awesome and the house smelled great. I will call them again for cleaning rather than renting a rug doctor. It was well worth it!

Iosif and Jose were on time to the appointment. They did a great job while being quick and efficient. Everything looks great!

Very nice guys! We are return customers. I had to leave home and when I returned they were done and had left. Was slightly disappointed this time because they didn’t remove all the dog hair this time and my bad beagle urinated on my love seat so I paid for deodorizer. However, I could still smell the urine and had to go out and get something myself for the the area they missed. I will probably use them again, however, next time I will stay home so that the job is not complete until I am satisfied!

They did a good job. I was very happy with the end result. And they weren’t overbearing with trying to persuade me to purchase additional services. My only complaint is that they had to send a 2^nd crew because the 1^st crew had issues with the machinery. I really didn’t like all the traffic in my home, especially with having a small child. But again, they did a great job and I will be using them again in the future. Clean carpet is a top priority for me. :)

We called them for carpet cleaning, best job ever done by any carpet cleaning guys so i give a 5.
I am sure to use them again.

I just said goodbye to Rashard and David, two professional young men who did a fabulous job on my carpets. The price was affordable, and I gotta say these guys worked hard. I was wondering if I would have to get new carpet – they were sooo dirty, but Rashard (who worked the vacuum) treated stains and went over the carpet multiple times. I’m very satisfied, especially since I took them up on their summer special.
