I used to love the Chicago Ave location until it closed. This place is nothing like that. There are bums swarming around here, it’s not clean inside, and they don’t even have the hot sauce bottles for you to use while dining in.
I’d avoid this place unless it’s the only thing open.

I can describe my Taco Burrito King experience as just a spot to get a relatively cheap and quick meal. In my opinion, anything that has chicken here is far too greasy for my taste. The service here is not terrible, but it can be slow at times. If you are a hungry college student near UIC, I would give this place a shot. Something I would recommend here would be any of the burritos.

I eat here too much.
It gets the job done.
I like other places more but its very close to me.
I am an amazing person. My opinion matters blah blah blah…

This was a disaster. It’s all fun and games when stuffing your face with mediocre chorizo… I went to this place last night around 4:30 in the morning after going out and we had high hopes. These hopes came crashing down when I woke up to my friend writhing in pain in bed next to me. She is basically on her death bed and it’s all due to the carelessness. the atrocities committed at taco burrito King. Every month should be Food poisoning awareness month at taco burrito King PERHAPS THEYD LEARN. I googled the name of the restaurant and «food poisoning» and the search results went on for pages… There are others out there who have suffered. It’s prime time someone dethroned the king.

Came in for dinner 15 minutes before closing, ordered my food. At 5 minutes to closing the cashier came over to the table and told me to leave they close at eight. At eight the manager came over to my tabel and told me to get out they were closed. The food OK. My family will not be coming back

So the first time I ate here was a total disaster! I ordered the steak burrito, and upon digging in I’m pretty sure that what I ate was not steak o_​O, in fact, I’m not sure what it was. All I can confirm is that it was WEIRD. I may be a tough Mexican food critique but I can assure you that this is not authentic. My Mexican cravings drug me back in to give the place another try (thus they get a second star). This time I tried the CHICKEN super nachos. They were a tad bit amateur for my liking, but it was not as bad as my first fail. It came with chicken, guac, tomatoes, jalapenos, & can cheese (carnival style, ugh). Overall, I give the place two stars just for those of us who often have Mexican food urges, this will cure the call… but eat with caution o_​o.

This place is so disgusting I’m not one to talk bad about a business I personally am a big fan of the one in Niles this particular taco burrito King is disgusting I don’t recommend anyone to go there they will get you sick and not to mention the night staff on a Wednesday night are so rude don’t waste your time or money you will be disappointed.

Ive gone several times in the past year and maybe its a new recipe but it reminds me of expired milk, blegh.
Also they sometimes have to be told what their own monthly special is lol

The staff is friendly enough and the food is a good value. It is semi authentic Mexican and good for a quick meal. I would recommend the combo platter which is a good taste of everything.

For the price better than Taco Bell this place is great! I had the quesadilla. The chicken is pulled not any of the packaged stuff and the green chile sauce has a great spice that brings out the cheese and taste of the tortilla. Great place will be back for sure.

I’ve been here a couple random times and both times the food was very salty
The time I had a torta and the second time I had a quesadilla so both were different options
I did not care for the guacamole either

The worst food (let alone Mexican) I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I bought chicken tacos and they just ripped and fell apart the moment I grabbed them. Everything tasted like a pile of mud. The people were very unfriendly and uninterested in serving. We were a group of four and none of us liked what we ordered. The food is really bad and there is no restroom here. I would never set foot into this place again.

I don’t know who would eat tbk sober, especially at this location. I have came here many nights some I remember most of them I dont. Lines can be long on weekend nights. The food here is typical drunk fillings, greasy, cheesy, salty. It does it purpose, and fills a niche of being open 24/​7, but simply on food I wouldnt come here sober.

Unfortunately, I was persuaded by a cab driver to come here versus a great taco place in bucktown. I’ve never had a taco that has zero flavor and what I can assume is actually not steak in my steak taco. I would not settle on this place, you deserve better.

So after spending time in Southern California and experiencing the plethora of Mexican cuisine there, I return to my old stomping grounds of UIC. I think the food is ok; my belief is that you definitely need to be under the influence of something (alcohol, weed, super glue, drinking a bottle of bleach, etc…) in order to enjoy.
As previously stated, the food is just your run-​of-​the-​mill greasy slop. But what really put me off was the fact that the staff is very rude, and I even saw a cockroach dart across the floor. Yeah, there goes all my food into the trash after seeing that. Please go to a different place, and I’d maybe give it a second chance if they got their act together…

Best late night eats to silence that monster in your stomach after a whole night of partying (or not, who’s judging?) but then again, everything tastes better when inebriated ;)
My orders here varies, I’d get the nachos, quesadillas, tortas or tacos and of course a huge cup of the horchata.
I love that this place closes really late (5am on Su-​Thu and 6am Fri-​Sat), I will never go hungry in this part of town. :D

My husband brought me here to take me on a walk down memory lane (his memory lane) since this used to be one of his spots back in college.
He’s only had the steak quesadillas and said they were really good. And yes, to my surprise, they were REALLY good and had a good amount of steak in it. We ended up trying some of their tacos too since I’m a big fan of those cilantro and onion simple tacos. Unfortunately the tacos came American style with lettuce and tomatoes I think, which kinda ruined it for me. Slightly disappointed, we went to wash our hands (they have a cool little sink for customers) and my husband tapped my shoulder and pointed to the grill in their half kitchen behind the counter. Sure enough, they were making tacos with cilantro and onions. So I guess they do make if there and we just didn’t know how to order it.
It was good enough to come back, but not amazing. But because I saw those tacos on the grill, I might come back for one more try.
