I’m not a big fan of country music but this is a hilarious parody of the genre, featuring two comic/tragic characters. It was hilarious. Highly recommend.

I don’t like country music, but this show was so darn funny, I recommended it to all my colleagues and customers and basically anyone I spoke to while in Chicago. I hope they make it to NYC and this runs on Broadway — very talented actors, and very well written. Great bargain price, excellent use of the space. Deadpan humor was the best. Audience was in stitches. If its still running next time I’m in Chicago(or wherever else it tours to), you can count me in!

My jaw was tired from laughing. The premise is great. We were slightly late when we walked in, but we were convinced we were walking into a country duo’s concert, because Doyle and Debbie are actually great singers. The show is full of laughs and all of the songs are hilarious, my favorite is «Barefoot and Pregnant», but I liked all of them seriously… «Fat Women in Trailers» — Doyle has to get snapped out of singing this one, it’s like when you’re playing vinyl and the needle gets stuck, except in his case, the record player goes faster and crazier «ABCs of Love» — A ballad sung in the style of Patsy Cline, but it’s 90% acronyms and way way funnier than anything«Crazy» “Blue Stretch Pants” — An ode to a woman’s derrierre, and it’s evolution after marriage and rearing children. «I Ain’t a Homo(But You Sure Look Good to Me» — Exactly. This show is so funny when you’re done watching you’re going to feel like you did 4 rounds with the Ab Rocker or Ab Lounge or 6 Minute Abs or something… There’s an actual bar during the show too, so if you don’t find the jokes funny enough(though they are plenty funny while sober) you can drink until it IS funny, which shouldn’t take too long. «What kind of music do you play here?» «Oh, we got both kinds, country AND western!»

We just saw this show last night and I am recommending it to everyone I know. I thought I would add my two cents(or 5 stars) here in case anyone is looking for reviews. I laughed so much I had to use my inhaler to avoid an asthma attack. The performers are fantastic and the songs are very, very clever. I can’t get the Fat Women in Trailers song out of my head…

If you have the chance to see this play, do it. It is about a washed up, has been country singer, who has had a «slight breakdown» and is back, after 30 years, and 4 wives and with the 3rd Debbie. The song list of their BIG hits includes: Blue Stretch Pants, Barefoot and Pregnant, ABC’s of Love, and Fat Women in Trailers, along with others. The lyrics had the entire audience laughing and if you can’t see the humor in these songs, then there is really something wrong with you. It lasts about 90 minutes with no intermission. The program is a laminated diner menu just what you would expect in a Country/Western dive bar. It is geared toward an adult audience so I would not recommend it for the younger crowd. I am sure they would not understand that with prostate trouble, Doyle now is searching for women with short names, because he likes to pee their names on the ground. Go and enjoy.
