Stopped here this morning for breakfast. The Prime Filet Burrito was to die for– scrambled eggs, chorizo, Vidalia onion, cheddar cheese and pieces of the«strip» from their filet with a superb Poblano salsa and homemade Pico. Chef Hans really created a great breakfast burrito. Thanks!

Fantastic food and service! Our hotel recommended the restaurant and we were not disappointed! The service with Sean was fabulous(great recommendations) and we were very impressed the manager Peter took the time to visit our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Great conversation and atmosphere. We will be recommending the restaurant to all friends and family in and out of the area.

Great service and very attentive staff. Food was outstanding — shrimp corn chowder, fondue chips, burger, skirt steak and carrot cake was what we ordered. All were outstanding.

First I want to say if I could give this place a 3.5, I would. The service was quick and good and the ambiance was nice for dinner. My boyfriend and I were here on vacation and went on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty, but we weren’t concerned because it was Sunday after all. We ordered a bottle of wine, a chicken pot pie, and a steak salad. The chicken pot pie was piping hot when it came out(I was warned by the waiter), and when it cooled down, it was delicious. It was a huge portion, very rich, very comforting. The steak salad was also very good. The portion there could be bigger for price, but it was cooked very well. The reason I am giving this place a «3.5» is because of a mishap we had with the wine. We ordered a bottle of Malbec that was around $ 30, and the waiter brought us a Malbec that was around $ 50. It seemed like an honest mistake, so we were not too upset, but when the check came out we were still charged for the $ 50 bottle that we did not order, but they gave us a free dessert(worth around $ 8). The gesture was nice, and the oreo cookie cake was incredible, but it was a kind of awkward situation to be in.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and have had nothing but the best experience. The food is delicious and the staff is always tentative. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Chicago!

I got the turkey club sandwich and the portion was huge! I was so stuffed after eating half of it. Very generous on the meat and chips! The wheat bread they use was very hearty too. Bursting with grains. My dad got their burger and he said it was good. Prices are definitely worth how much they give you. I feel like they give too much chips and fries though; it gives somewhat of a «quantity over quality» vibe. Luckily, the quality of the food was ok. Service was very attentive, but then again, the place is practically empty when we came in for lunch. This is a great casual spot that’s near the hotels. If I happen to be the area again, I might stop by here again.

Do yourself a favor and order the cioppino. It is chock full of incredible seafood and more than enough for a meal. You also can’t go wrong with the truffle deviled eggs. A great spot just off the mag mile.

Great food — service was great as usual. We frequent this restaurant and a coupe others that they have and always have a great time. The ½ steak sandwich and soup — salad combo, the local box, was awesome. I will continue to go to all of the restaurants that they own, especially The Local!

It was the only place nearby that wasn’t $$$ or more open after 10pm. So, I opted for a Chicken Pot Pie, a side salad, and a beer. I added dessert because the meal was«ok», and I felt the place needed a chance. First, the salad was crisp, fresh, and made of nutritional greens, tomatoes, carrots, and fresh cheese. The house vinaigrette was delicious. The Chicken Pot Pie was my issue. It looked great! Yeah, looked. The pastry was flaky on top, but still a bit gummy. The pot was rather deep, so the pastry never really touched the filling, which was only half filled in the pot. The filling was flavorful, but quite a bit was burned to the bottom of the pot. It was rather dissappointing. Dessert was delicious. I have the Oreo Mint Ice Cream Cookie. It was somewhat of a decomposed ice cream sandwich. The ice cream was awesome, the cookie(hidden under whipped cream) was still crunchy and tasted great. And the whole thing sat on cookie crumbs and chocolate syrup. Oh boy.

Full disclosure: I only came in here for drinks, so I can’t comment on the food. My review is solely based on my night cap experiences.(I was staying at the attached hotel). They have a great full bar selection with some random off-the-wall offerings. One of the bartenders introduced me to roasted pecan infused vodka, so I’m happily making my own now. :) I’ll dock a star for the sometimes slow service, which happens some late nights when bigger groups come in. So, it wasn’t perfect, but I would definitely come back if I were in the area. Not sure I’d seek it out without knowing it first now, just because it feels like it’s part of the hotel and not its own entity, but that’s not really a ding against them. Great service when they aren’t super busy, friendly staff, and great drink selection. Oh, and this is the first place where I ever had Malört. Take that for what it’s worth.

Shout-out to The Local for being open on Thanksgiving. Shout-out to them for having the option to order their Thanksgiving menu or their regular menu. Shout-out to the friendly and attentive waitress… didn’t catch her name, think she had reddish hair. And shout-out to that meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Yes, you want to order it. You sure do. All in all, no complaints here!

I want to start off by saying that the food and waiters here are excellent… I can always count on the food being fresh and servers being very friendly and informative. I do however want to complain about a manager who worked yesterday morning. I cannot believe how unprofessional, aggressive and demeaning he is. I don’t appreciate his business card being shoved in my face, or how he talks to the employees. Talk about power trip! I heard him talking down screaming at the staff and chef. If it weren’t for this obnoxious person, I would rate this restaurant the highest rating! Please do something about this guy before you lose business.

My big bro was in town for work and staying at the Hilton. This was a perfect choice after traveling and putting in a full day. Our server was quite attentive and promptly started us off with some cocktails. The menu is very user friendly, with approachable options along the comfort food route. I had a one of the specials which was a generous portion of savory sweet short ribs and potatoes. Oomph… big filling portion! And the perfect ending? Free Hoosier Mama pie for everyone!

The Local. Hmmmmm. .. .. .it’s located in a hotel which seems to scream not local, but who am I to judge? I’ll go and check it out for myself. While it is the restaurant for the Hilton Hotel that it sits in, the Local does a pretty good job of catering to the local neighborhood as well. And knowing that the roots to this casual environment are soundly rooted in Chicago Cut and C Chicago, you know that the food is going to be high quality as well as having a really well stocked bar. I was meeting some friends which is always my favorite way to check out a new spot as I get to taste a wide range of the menu. While there is a separate dining room, we choose to just grab a booth in the bar which are«first come first served». A couple of must haves are the jalapeño cornbread(and if it isn’t decadent enough they spread some kind of maple pecan butter over the top…be still my waistline!) and the blue cheese fondue chips. Our server described those as a sort of «nacho» with blue cheese and truffle oil but trust me. Other than there is a cheesy sauce on chips any similarity is a stretch. These things were amazing! We ordered simple entrees of the pot pie, the ribs and a burger. All were very tasty and were served by a team of people who did a nice job in making us feel welcome. And the bartender poured an excellent drink. Another plus in my book is that they have a range of wines by the glass. They are quick to tell you their house, but offer a couple of upgrades if you are interested. You can tell that«table touching» is inherent even in this low end of their brand as I have seen it in their fine dining restaurants as well. The manager stopped by to make sure we were all taken care of which is always a nice touch. So while the name still is a bit confusing for a restaurant in a hotel, The Local did a good job of convincing this local girl that another visit to try out more of that«comfort food» menu would be in order. See you at The Local!

I recently moved in around the corner from this spot and the Unilocal reviews looked good so I decided to try it out! I went for breakfast with a friend of mine and we weren’t impressed. Upon looking at the menu I noticed the prices were high(which is common for the neighborhood) but what was bothersome was the lack of options. The menu doesn’t allow you to have pancakes and eggs without paying for their $ 25 buffet. They also don’t have an option to order a side of eggs or a side of pancakes to add to your meal(or sub your toast for a pancake). When our food arrived(after taking 30 min) it was warm and the portions were large. However, my friends order was wrong(she asked for bacon but got ham) and my eggs were extremely runny. The hash brown«cake» that came with the meal was also very peculiar. Honestly, it seemed like the food we were served came from the buffet. The entire time we were there, carts of dishes and linens were being wheeled back and forth which was disruptive. Our server was really nice and attentive which was a positive. I’ll give it another shot for a different meal, but not breakfast.

We stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner without reservations. Seated by a very friendly hostess. Our server, Jake was excellent and on top of his game. We had to try the famous Cornbread and this alone was worth the stop. Wifey had the Roasted Beets Salad and says it was one of the best she’s ever had. I tried the Catch of the Day-Seabass and this was fantastic as well. One thing that I really liked about the Local, after we were served our dinners, our server picked up a group of 13 people. This usually means everyone else suffers while the huge group gets started. Not here, the Manager actually appeared and covered the tables while our Server was tied down. Great service. Highly recommend The Local.

Came here late night for dinner and it was worth the drive. The corn bread is a must. Everything off the menu was great food was a high priced but what would you expect downtown Chicago. The service was great food came out right away the dinner menu was limited though. I definitely would come back to try breakfast.

Really liked this place! Thought it was part of the Hilton but come to discover that it is independent from the hotel. Generally don’t like to eat in chain hotels. Had the prime filet breakfast which was very tasty and well prepared and my only gripe was the the portion which really was tiny for 26. Had a bite of daughters TLC burger and that was large and tasty. Fresh squeezed OJ was tasty but could have been colder. Staff here was great, very helpful and accomodating. Will come back!

Very cozy and unpretentious restaurant with lots of comfort food. Coveys a very neighborhood, local feel that is good for a nightcap, dinner or just a bar to stop and watch a game before heading home. We stopped for dinner and everything we ordered was good. I had a burger with fries, and side salad and everything was good. Nothing fancy but all good. The service was prompt and friendly. Next time I would love to try breakfast here.
