Cool local place about 2 or 3 blocks from the brown line stop. Been here twice for a quick drink. they have a nice beer list and a pretty good liquor list. Staff is pretty friendly. Fun place to stop in for a drink with a friend. They are also a coffee place in the morning. I don’t drink a lot of coffee anymore so never tried it. Fun little place.

I had heard great things about The Biscuit Man and finally had the chance to try it this morning. After doing a little research on their website(very informative), I headed down to try my first biscuit. I opted for the Cheddar and Egg Biscuit($ 6). Reasonably priced considering everything seems and tastes very fresh! I ordered it to go and it was served in under 8 minutes, but I will certainly be back again and this time, will plan to stay in order to try their patio and a coffee. Overall, very pleasant experience! Would recommend and will definitely be back.

Cool ambiance, but I had to wait 20 min to get a beer. And the place was empty… Not cool

I’ve lived so close to Long Room and have only just made it here — I love this place! They have a nice little outdoor patio — key word is «little.» You might not find space on the patio if you get there later on a beautiful day. They have tables and booths set up right near the patio door, so you get a good taste of outside but can stay out of the sun if you wish! My friends both ordered some sort of open-faced sloppy joe sandwich a couple weeks ago and it was great. They have a very extensive beer collection, but my favorite drink is their Cablegram cocktail. I’m so glad I finally went here — I’ll be going back often!

Awesome craft beer selection. Haven’t tried the food yet but seems very tasty and unique with the rotating chef feature. There’s a great little beer garden in the back. I also really like the huge framed Illinois map lol. This place is one of a kind. If you like good beer, go. IMO, North Center is the place to be when it comes to craft beer.

Came for Sunday brunch in a rainy day. Walked in around noon, the place is not big but there were tables available. Grabbed a latte from the bar. I think it was cinnamon or gingerbread. Totally hit the spot. Ordered some delicious food from the kitchen. I had chilaquiles, SO had hash. Food came quickly, we left happy people. Cash only, pay bar and kitchen separately.

Went to The Longroom this morning to grab coffee. It was great! I have been meaning to check it out. We sat on the patio even though it was a bit chilly. The chairs aren’t super comfy but they have wifi and if you sit near the mural there are plugs in case you have your laptop and are working/studying. Their coffee menu isn’t too extensive, but they have the basics and that’s fine by me. We didn’t order any food or pastries but a few people near us ordered food and they looked satisfied. The service is good and the inside is clean. The patio could have used a bit of a clean up. But overall the experience was good. I looked at their cocktail menu and it pretty enticing. I would come back here!

This is a surprisingly awesome place to sit and do work on weekdays. Comfortable and plentiful seats, free WiFi, coffee(and booze if that’s how you roll), delicious and quickly prepared lunch food. I just had the lamb naan. It was the perfect size and it had pickled turnips in it. My two hours here have been very special.

BRINGHEADPHONES. Tasty luxury high-price pourover(worth it! really good!) but HORRIBLEMUSIC like RHCP, Drop kick Murphys … where is the overlap in that Venn diagram?

We came here for brunch and the Biscuit Guy was on duty despite it being a Sunday. We ordered the Hash Bowl and the Chiliquilles and each bite was heavenly bliss. The grits were creamy, with a hidden cheese layer underneath and a wonderful mix of homemade bacon bits, chili jam, fried egg, and peppery arugala, and the Chiliquilles were savory, crunchy, and a true flavor bomb. Best of all? No brunch line, no brunch craziness. Drink a Rusty Nail when eating your brunch.

You really need to warn people that although you are a BAR, on Sunday mornings, you are a nursery school complete with cartoons. Seriously, if you have young kids and you want to hang out and drink beer with your other friends with young kids, this is the place for you. If not, skip it.

Came for lunch. Biscuits are a must. I did the BLT with bacon. It’s so good, comes with a jam that’s perfect for this sandwich. Check out my pictures for details on the food.

I love this place. Great vibe. Came here on a freezing Tuesday night(last Tuesday actually). I had a Dark & Stormy cocktail which was delightful while my boyfriend had a really great beer the bartender recommended. We were there awhile just enjoying ourselves. Service was great. My boyfriend lives nearby so we returned the next morning for breakfast. He had a really, really good chicken biscuit sandwich thing while I had the egg and cheddar cheese one. Delicious! My eggs were perfect with fresh herbs and there was so much ooey gooey cheese. The biscuits are soft, light and fluffy. I had a latte to drink and it was smooth and made just right. Highly recommend.

Now that I’ve eaten at both Sidecar restaurants, I wanted to come back to update my review. Tried Biscuit Man for lunch last week. Three stars. $ 8 for an egg, bacon and cheese biscuit didn’t quite feel right and the size is a little small-ish. I needed to add an order of the admittedly-tasty coffee cake to leave the place sorta full. The biscuit was tasty but not mind-blowing; the innards like the eggs and cheese were also just OK. Grabbed a Schlitz at the bar for $ 4…but then the gods smiled on me, since a Schlitz rep was at the bar when I ordered, so I got the beer for free. That saved what would have been a $ 14BEFORE tax and tip lunch where I definitely left hungry. When averaged out with the Beard & Belly dinner I had a few months ago, I land in the four-star category, but I won’t be back for lunch. However, my other colleagues had the rice bowls and seemed to be happy with the food, even if the price point for the value proposition was too high.

Awesome cocktail and craft beer bar — yes, you knew that. But did you know that they now also have coffee and amazing food?(Full disclosure, The Long Room is a customer of mine and I work for Counter Culture coffee, the coffee vendor.) Coffee geeks — The Longroom has Counter Culture Coffee, a new La Marzocco, Mazzer grinders, Fetco XTS brewer, single origin pour program and and fully trained experienced baristas… this is one of the only spots in town where you can get a great shot of espresso alongside a great craft beer or expertly made cocktail. Don’t miss out on the great patio out back — it has outlets and free wifi outside!

I live in the neighborhood of The Long Room so my boyfriend and I have been pretty frequently in the three years I’ve lived her. We always appreciated the friendly, neighborhood-y vibe and good selection of craft beers and ciders, but since they’ve expanded to include coffee service and food via pop-up restaurants at the Side Car we’re in love. Now it truly is a great neighborhood spot. The coffee service in the morning is delicious and well priced for the quality. My boyfriend’s known to get the pourover or the bottomless coffee while I favor an iced latte with one of their homemade syrups. The expanded cocktail menu is also great and is appreciated by this non-beer drinker. We’ve also really enjoyed the food we’ve had to date. We’re addicted to The Biscuit Man’s breakfast and lunch fare. The biscuit with ham and swiss(I add an egg) is one of those dishes that seems simple but is so, so delicious. The biscuits are really perfect and the flavors are well balanced. He also has a good list of rotating specials. I also enjoy the ambiance. The crowd is generally pleasant, the bartenders are nice, and the beer garden is a nice hidden gem.

Super long bar, hence the name. If you don’t want to stand near the bar, there is a small room at the back with more tables and a photo booth for spontaneous drunken photos with your friends. Be prepared to fight with the machine as it is particular with money and sometimes your credit card. We played card games back there and the staff came regularly to check on us. The beer garden is filled with tables and doesn’t have much standing room. I felt bad for smoking out there as people were munching on food etc. The drinks are fairly decent and somewhat decent prices for cocktails. I didn’t check out the huge list of beers as I wasn’t in the mood for a beer. I will be back soon.

Never knew this place even existed until going there with coworkers recently. We had already eaten, so I’ll definitely need to go back there sometime for food. Drinks and service however, were on point! They have a nice little patio area out back as well that adds to the vibe. Check it out!

I love this bar even more now that they have added the sidecar coffee and food component! I have never had a more delicious breakfast sandwich in my life. They have also redone the inside so it’s a bit less dingy but has retained its charm. Long Room has upped there beer game lately with frequently rotating delicious beers. Really, you can’t go wrong whether you check it out for breakfast or drinks later!

Came here with a friend for a few drinks, and I’m likin’ this place! Long list of craft beers, attentive bartenders, lots of seating including an outdoor patio, and a chill environment. Don’t come here if you are looking for a club atmosphere because this place is all about the relaxation, and of course the beer. They are awesome about letting you try a beer before you buy it(good thing because I found out I’m not a fan of the sours). Young crowd and nice music to top it off!
