I have came here to eat twice. Both times it was very good. I would highly recommend the pulled pork, onion rings, and chicken strips. I will definitely come back.

Your standard bar — lots of TVs & lots of room. The bartenders were very attentive for how busy it was when we went during a Hawks game. They have a shuffleboard table in the back room which is always fun. Unless I missed another bathroom, my only qualm is that there is one single-person bathroom for men/women and they might be uni-sex(can’t remember). For such a large place that gets packed, they should add more bathrooms or constantly clean the bathrooms so they’re a little more bearable. Good place to stop by and have a few drinks.

Honestly i have been there three Times. The bar is fun the food when not so crowded is ok not great but ok specially the blue cheese burger. The service is horrible this bar needs the attention of someone that cares. Waitress looks down on people that ask for things, they are not motivated ever yo serve. Horrible I hope this changes soon. I will be back in 6 months for now horrible.

I absolutely love this place, not only as my local watering hole, but for the food too! It’s the perfect neighborhood place to grab a beer and watch a cubs game(even though they are technically a KC bar) stop in for lunch, or grab carryout for dinner. The wings with homemade blue cheese are one of the city’s best, and anything that comes off the smoker(ribs, pulled pork, corned beef, turkey) is delicious! Annie’s homemade soups are to die for with the beer cheese being in a league of its own. They are the perfect comfort food on a chilly day. Last but not least, the staff are all fun, outgoing and welcoming neighbor folks.

We started with some nachos with pulled pork on them. and a couple of beers. I got the jumbo wings, an order of 20, which are pretty thick! I couldn’t do more than 10! The bbq sauce is nice and tangy, it’s a nice compliment to the wings. But it’s not amazing. I got the other half garlic parm. I was really impressed actually. My girlfriend got a pulled pork quesadilla which she said was very filling but good. They have a couple games here too. Pool, shuffle board, darts, and a hunting arcade shooter.

What a great bar. Friendly owner and staff. Great fresh food options. I attended the 5th annual wingfling. So many great flavors. Daily specials and they never hike the prices on Cubs game day. Pool table, shuffleboard and other games in the back room, what’s not to love? It’s nice being off the beaten path from Wrigley, but certainly close enough to walk over. They’re in there 26th year and the same owner runs Pearls on Broadway.

I love this place. When you’re there, you really feel a part of the neighborhood, and not as though you’re in a bar pretending to be a part of the neighborhood. The staff are«friendly-honest,» who aren’t afraid to joke around with you, but aren’t acting as though they have to wear pieces of flair to provide good service. The fact that people know the staff’s names, and the staff knows peoples’ names, should tell you a lot about how genuine Toons is. Their beer selection is carefully chosen, and I’ve never had a bad meal, especially on barbecue days when the smoker is going out back. Catching a game is always a good choice(especially if you’re a Kansas City fan), but if you want to just stop by to play some shuffleboard, pool or darts, you can do that too.

I’m giving this place five stars because it is the best place I’ve found in the city of Chicago that does Louisiana-style crawfish boils(those places that do seafood similar to Boiling Crab don’t count, the spices are not the same!). When they say all you can eat, every time I’ve been(and I’ve been at least five times), they’ve always meant all you can eat. I grew up in Louisiana and my family used to have home crawfish boils every week so I’m used to some pretty high quality crawfish. A 40 pound sack of crawfish was cheap and makes a good home boil for three people. While Toons is not as good as my dad’s crawfish boils, it is the best crawfish I found in Chicago for the price. And they’re generous. I’ve actually met other people from Louisiana in Chicago here, because it really is the best place for boils and people can tell the difference. I’ve tried McGee’s and a few other places in Chicago(Kinmont does it too I think). I think McGee’s only does it once a year and when I went, there were so many people that I only got like 2 pounds of crawfish. Kinmont feels a little too high falutin for me, it’s got more of that fancy restaurant feel and they charge $ 40.00 for their boil. Toons has that homey, casual bar feel, which is what eating crawfish is all about — getting together with friends and catching up while eating some delicious mudbugs. They also do a boil a few times a year, so if you miss one you can always try to catch the next one. When I first started going, Toons used to have a first come, first served policy. I think a crawfish boil was $ 25 dollars per person then and you paid in cash at the door, and got a wristband. You got a free beer too. Because of the demand, they’ve since moved to a online ticketing system. Basically, you need to subscribe to Toons’ facebook page. Then, you have to watch Toons’ facebook page like a hawk for when they post that they’re having a crawfish boil. As soon as they do, go online and get those tickets! They sell out super fast. The last time I went(last year), it was $ 30 dollars for all you can eat and a beer. I’m not sure what they’ll charge the next time they do a boil. $ 30 is still a pretty good deal, if you ask me. But I can put away at least 10 pounds of crawfish on my own. They usually will have muffalettas as well, and red beans and rice — that’s all included with the $ 30. The crawfish you get is also cooked in the same spices as corn, mushrooms, sausage, and so you get plenty of these things on your platter. So goood. The last times I’ve gone, you get a big platter, give it the guy in the back and he shovels a crazy amount of crawfish onto your platter. When you want more you go back to him. Make sure you get your hands on a roll of paper towels, and get some of those plastic cups of water from the cooler in the back. You’ll need these things once you start eating, trust me.

I have been going to Toons with my boyfriend since we started seeing each other. He claims they have the best wings in the city, and I agree! We look forward to our Thursday wing nights all week. They never disappoint either. We will start with either nachos or pulled pork quesadillas which come in a hefty portion. The draft list is great and they have a good selection for a small neighborhood bar. It’s a very chill place as far as attire. Only wish the interior was a little more updated otherwise 5 stars all the way.

Great neighborhood bar. Good selection of beers on tap and in bottles. They have both craft beers and daily specials for those on a beer budget. Servers were really friiendly and attentive. Apparently the bar gets realy crowded on Cubs and other Chicago game days, but it was pretty empty when we went(on the middle of a Sunday afternoon.). Toons also has a group of regular locals who have regular seats at the corner of the bar, so you know it is a neighborhood gem.

Toons is a really cool neighborhood bar tucked just a hop, skip and a jump from Wrigleyville. The place sports a nice laid back vibe and backs it up with a cool yet yardworking staff. It’s not super fancy, there are some high tops and tables where you can sit, converse and if you’re into that sort of thing watch a game. If they’re available feel free to play some darts or shuffleboard. I wasn’t able to tell if there were any darts or shuffleboard leagues or «nights,» but I wouldn’t be surprised if something like that took place during the week. The beer list seemed to have what you look for in good brews. Since I was visiting I kept my selections to local Chicago brews and the bartenders were good about asking me what I wanted and finding a local brew to match. One drawback is the bar itself is narrow so if the place is even half busy it can be a fight up to the bar to get someone’s attention. The staff does a wonderful job at making sure everybody is taken care of, but of course they can only do so much when it’s shoulder to shoulder. Thanks Toons for your hospitality. I can’t wait to come back and watch a big game.

Toons is your average neighborhood bar. Lots of regulars. Not very fancy. I met a friend here one night when we just wanted to grab a quick drink. I got a whiskey/diet(my usual) — can’t really mess that one up, can you! My friend got a bud light or something. It’s nothing too special, but it’s one of those neighborhood hole in the wall gems that you need. Lots and lots of regulars, it seems. A friend of mine said their food is actually pretty good — just your greasy bar food!

Looking for a place to play some suffleboard, throw some darts or shoot some pool while downing a few pints and eating a huge plate of fried cheese sticks? Then Toons is for you. Toons is one of what seems like a dying breed — a bar you can actually hang out in. I’m not a big sports guy so maybe most people go to a bar to catch a game but sometimes me or me and the wife just want to get out of the house and go hang out somewhere and shoot some pool. Not like we’re pool sharks or anything but it seems to me no one goes to bars to socialize anymore. They just go to sit there and stare at the big screen TV’s that cover every inch of wall space. Toons has a few TV’s no doubt but given there are options to play some games, it’s a bit more lively than a bunch of people sitting quietly for some period of time and then all screaming in unison as their team scores(or allows a score). If you’re in the hood, check it out. Divey in a good way with a nice beer list and fun things to do while you hang out.

This place is a nice city neighborhood bar. Very clean and didn’t have the stale beer smell. I was here during the day and it was well lit. The bathrooms are even nice no broken sink and even had toilet paper. Beer choices I was pleased with too. I came for the crawfish boil and it was very delicious! If you’re able to come in for one I recommend it. The staff is friendly. I’m not from that area and didn’t feel like a stranger.

Toon’s is my neighbor, so we’ve obviously had our«moments». Toon’s is a great dive bar, one of the better in Chicago. They have good food, good beers, plenty of TV’s, and best of all, shuffle board and buck hunter. This place has tons of regulars and it isn’t uncommon for someone to walk in and say hello to 90% of the bar. If you’re looking for a cheap night out, some fried food, and some people watching, this is your place.

This place has turned into a regular spot for the gf and I. Trivia on Wednesdays rocks and the burgers are awesome. Always has good beers on draft. Bonus perk: Toons gets 3x miles on United thru their dining program.

Update: I came here this past Sunday and had a few Bud Lights, which the waitress charged me $ 4.50/ea for. Thinking this place is dead that seems a little high, I noticed on a chalk board that domestic bottles on Sunday were a special of $ 3.75. I didn’t say anything because it was after I paid my bill that I noticed the special, but um, waitresses don’t know about the specials or willingly charged me more? Not a fan at all. Probably won’t come back again.
