They paved Buddy Guy’s Legends and put up a Papermaker’s Garden? Is that how the song goes? Well, it’s being rewritten on paper grown by «The Center for Book and Paper» studios at Columbia. «This garden supports deep hands-on engagement with the process of fiber production as well as contemporary ideas in interdisciplinary practice related to art, science, the environment and social practice.»(Excerpt from the small sign nearby.) For you and me, that means… a lovely reprieve from urban hardscape, some excellent photo ops, and a near-death experience for those who will easily slip into anaphylactic shock from a bee sting.(LOTS of bees! on the sunflowers… good to see bees, but reminder to keep a nice distance.) Pretty cool! I hope they bring us full circle and post some photos of how the sunflowers, vegetables(everything from what look shallots, to leafy greens) and other plants will be used in their work. PS — Buddy Guy’s is located a few doors north, on the corner and they are open for lunch(except Mon and Tues) and dinner.
