Good lunch buffet, nice selection and great customer service. When my water was about halfway empty they will be there filling it up before I could finish it. Plenty of fresh nan for you to dig into and a good mixture of spies. It wasn’t busy when we were there, as it was raining hard that day. Nice atmosphere as well!

Went here for the Lunch Buffet on a Sunday. The dal makhani was good and the Chicken Biryani was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Yummy!!! Pretty clean place with good service.

Went on New Years Day for Indian Buffet. The restaurant & service was very nice but the taste/quality of the food wasn’t worth the price. If you’re looking for a good Indian Buffet I’d look elsewhere on the Devon strip.

Tiffin was nice, I brought family in from Madison to visit my in-laws we met up here for dinner. 8 people in total. we ordered 6 dishes and some rice, naan, and roti. This place did not disappoint, the food ordered we was just enough for everyone and the chef(s) executed without any issues. Must say though that the Chai was blah. nothing quite like my mother-in-law’s or my wife’s. The taste of the food seemed to please both the Guju palate as well as the Caucasian. Parking on Devon is of course a nightmare. It was required though as my grandparents and I have disability needs. So there as a parking lot about 300 feet away but my family brought a huge Ford pickup truck and the thing could barely fit anywhere. I would go again.

I’ve visited Tiffin a few times with a buffet-loving friend, and we believe it’s the best of the self-serve Indian lunch options along Devon. Everything we’ve tried has been well-prepared, particularly the tandoori chicken, which is brought to the table fresh, along with a basket of naan. That’s the norm at most buffets in the area, but I believe Viceroy, the closet«upscale» lunch competitor, does it differently. I will note that a bottle of beer at Tiffin costs $ 10, and I also remember coming in a few years ago with some friends for dinner, and dropping around $ 60 a person for apps and entrees, so if you’re going to be drinking and/or ordering a la carte, this restaurant is probably NOT a good budget option. The lunch buffet, however, is a fine value, at $ 11 before tax and tip. If I had two suggestions for the managers, they would be: 1. Tone down whatever smells so strongly of rose attar & 2. Upgrade the tray of plain basmati to a modest biryani or pulao, or at least jazz it up with some butter, saffron, turmeric, cardamom, etc.

Love ordering in from this place! Our order is always correct, arrives on time, and food is hot. Oh, and delicious. Just a consistently good Indian place that delivers — what else can you ask for on a weeknight when you’re out of groceries?

Avoid this place at all cost. Every single dish was horrible and bland. Everything tasted like it was dipped in oil and served.

Saturday lunch buffet was delicious, naan crisp and fresh. Mango lassi was excellent as well. Would definitely try again.

I think this place is actually pronounced«Effin.» As in where’s our Effin’ server? Seriously… I’m not one to nitpick on hospitality, but between the curtness while we ordered and our table waiting for the check to the point of WTF looks on our faces, it took away from the overall experience. Sucks cause the food was actually pretty good. Really bold, spicy flavors, an awesome lamb vindaloo, and one of the best samosas I’ve had since I started on this Indian kick I’ve been on. Maybe lackadaisical service is just part of the authentic experience one will find on Devon, but because of it I think I’d probably stick to take out with this place.

I like eating at a different restaurant on Devon when I want to have dinner and order off the menu, but they don’t do lunch buffet so I occasionally will eat at Tiffin for their lunch buffet($ 10.95). They have a nice variety of vegetarian dishes and always have a lamb and a chicken dish. You are served tandoori chicken and naan at your table. The naan was very fresh today. I love spicy food and nothing is spicy at all on the buffet, and some of the dishes were lukewarm in temperature. The lamb dish had the best flavor of the dishes on the buffet and they also had some round things in a sauce I’ve never had before, I think mostly made of potato, that were very good. The kheer and the gulab jamun for dessert are wonderful, they really are the high point of the meal. Tiffin is the most elegant restaurant on Devon, and the waiters are all very polite and nicely dressed in uniform.

This is an excellent Indian restaurant on Devon Street. The service can be a bit slow at times but the samosas were great as were the entrees. The décor of the restaurant is also inviting especially with the sky and clouds on the ceiling. This is a fun restaurant for a group as well as for a nice date out and there will surely be leftovers to savor the next day.

Good food, maybe not great, but we will definitely be back. Good service, amazing environment and décor. Kid friendly because of louder ambiance. Busy during lunch, so the food was very fresh.

Tried to order from here through Seamless tonight… there was some kind of problem with the system, but the restaurant handled it extremely poorly. When we were twenty minutes past the estimated arrival time, we called to see what was up… and the person we spoke to hung up on us! His name was Marshan. I called back, and tried to get more details about it, only to have the man lie. When I called Seamless, they confirmed our order and tried to get the restaurant to send out the food… and they refused. This experience was particularly poor, but it’s demonstrative of a problem that has been building for a few years. I used to love their food, but haven’t been able to eat it in quite a while because these take-out orders rarely go through. It’s very disappointing, and we won’t be trying again.

We just came here on a field trip for work we took about 44 kids here to try Indian food since they’re learning about different cultures. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, we got to have a buffet and the kids really loved the food they got to try! I’m going to come back here again sometime without the kids lol, really enjoyed the food.

My fiancé had a craving for Indian food and Tiffin was where we decided on! Can’t go wrong with the food! The service can use a little work but most Indian eateries on Devon can use the same!

I went in here reading all the awesome reviews… I was not impressed at all… service was super slow and the food was not authentic at all… trust me I’m a south indian that has had indian cusine all over the world. I tried the paper dosa and a non veg thali, the potatoes in the dosa was lacking any type of flavor and the non veg thali was super bland as well. I feel the food is made more for Americans. .on a street with so many choices I would suggest you skip this spot… I posted a pic of the thali take a look

The Indian Food Neophyte’s Guide to Tiffin First Impressions: Me likely. This is far less divey than anticipated. Nice décor. Strong spice scents in the air. Fairly crowded on a Saturday night at 7:30pm. I’m happy I made a reservation. Menu: Erm. What do I order? What will I like? Ordering Decisions: I’m sticking with what looks pretty«easy.» Platter of fried goodies like samosa, tandoori chicken, etc. I think I need all the naan. Garlic naan! Lamb naan? What?! Food: I like! The fried apps are heavy, but tasty. Those sauces are dynamite, especially the spicy green one. Turns out chicken tikka is a good starter meal for Indian food newbies. Spicy, non-threatening, yummy. Service: Slow. But friendly. I’d do it again for sure.

The food here is amazing whether you go to the buffet or have the regular menu. You will get a better deal with the buffet, we spent almost triple when we ordered from the regular menu. Besides price, this place has amazing chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. There are pieces of real garlic baked onto the top of the naan. The service is great. Definitely a place to stop if you are on Devon!

Excellent. Met some business colleagues here for the lunch Buffet – $ 10.99. Place is very nice with excellent service. All the vegetarian food was very good. I have eaten at many Indian food restaurants and have never had a satisfying meal until i ate here. I am not familiar with the dishes and always end up with the wrong thing. Anyone complaining about this food(who is not from South east Asian heritage) does not know what they are talking about.

My husband and I LOVE Indian food! We always have to try out the best Indian food in the area whenever we are on vacation. I’ve been to Chicago a million times with my family and we always have to stop by Devon Ave. before going back. This time however, my husband and I just decided to walk around and just go into any restaurant that sounds good. We walked by Tiffin and decided to try it out. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing! Its so beautifully designed and the layout of the place is wonderful! The place is super clean with no overwhelming smells! We walked in during lunch time on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. My husband opted for the lunch buffet since it had Lamb curry and that’s all he really wanted. I wanted the Chicken Tikka Masala and it wasn’t included in the buffet so I ordered it off the menu. The staff was super great and attentive. Our waiter went to the back while I was waiting to give my order and the owner came over and asked if I needed anything. I asked him about the buffet and then asked when the waiter was coming back. He told me to just give him the order and he’ll get it in and asked if I wanted a coke or tea. He even brought my plate and drinks! That definitely made an impression on my husband and I. The waiter himself also brought us naan numerous times and refilled our drinks quite often. I loved the service here. The food itself was SOGOOD!!! My husband had 3 plates and my Chicken tikka masala was super Delicious! They also had some wonderful music playing. My husband recognized some of the songs and loved it. We will definitely recommend this place to all our family and friends and make sure they come here whenever they are in Chitown! We can’t wait to come back! Thanks Tiffin!!!
