Came here with the hubby for dinner. The places is really cool. The main sitting area is in an old train that use to be part of the CTA. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, it was well seasoned. The prices were about average for what we expected to pay. I will for sure come back, because it took me forever to decide what I wanted to eat due to all of the delicious options. They also have a good selection of wines and beer to pick from.

This is such a cute little place! Food was super delicious and not too expensive. Everything was wonderful. Their shrimp is TODIE for. Will definitely be back again soon!

This space was a weird one! But ended up being delicious savory Italian food. Dining in the railway car made it seem like an entirely different restaurant from the front bar. The waiters were friendly and helpful, suggesting entrees for us. The food was hearty portions and kept us full!

Great little place! Randomly walked by & was attracted by the train car that people were sitting in. Then we looked it up on Unilocal & saw they had a Unilocal deal AND what looked like good food so we just decided to try it. Such a good find! Cute atmosphere, good servers. It was a shame that it wasn’t more busy on a Saturday night but we enjoyed it because it was quiet & we could enjoy the music & relax.

Damn, I saw that I forgot to use my Unilocal deal. We came here for a coworker’s birthday lunch. I love how they have the grated parmesan cheese and oil for me to dip my bread in. The blackened salmon I had was fantastic. The portion of fish was huge and the server was right on the money about it being filling without me feeling stuffed. Shamelessly, I might come back another time just to try the tiramisu as it looked fabulous — the birthday boy didn’t even offer to share or let us have a bite so it must be that good!

It’s a bit of a crazy looking place – half is a happy hour type bar but then they seat you in an old train dining car. It was very comfortable in there despite the summer heat of Chicago, and we liked it. The menu is pretty basic old school Italian. We had the calimari and it was cooked perfectly. Very good. The pastas we ordered were OK. The server was very pleasant and great. I feel it was a little expensive for what we ordered but maybe not for the area.

I went here for Dinner with the boyfriend after a long day of traveling. I was starving! We Unilocaled the closest Italian place to his apartment and we walked into this beautiful gem. In the front area there’s a bar with some tables. We were led to the back of the restaurant to this cute area, designed as if we were about to eat in a train, curtains and all! It was so romantic. We ordered two glasses of wine, and were given excellent pours. For meals, I ordered the chicken fettuccine and he ordered the cheese ravioli. The cheese ravioli was absolutely delicious. The reason I give 4 instead of 5 was becaus the chicken fettuccine was a little bland. I had to doctor it up with salt, black pepper and red chili flakes but after that it was pretty good. There’s a Unilocal offer– $ 10 for $ 20 but we forgot to use it! Next time.

Couldn’t chew the Calimari. Caesar salad was placed on top of hot Calimari during delivery. Watery dressing and wilted lettuce… awful waste of money.

Hey, you’re eating in a dining car. You’re on vacation! It can be the Orient Express, the City of New Orleans, Hogwarts Express… whatever you conjure up. You just need to travel with someone who’s a lot of fun, has a vivid imagination and who won’t grimace when the food comes and you say«chew chew!» instead of «bon appetit.» The food is good, though nothing to telegraph home about. Definitely not what I’d imagine the Orient Express to serve, but it’s no Amtrak Dinette car either. Much closer to Amtrak prices too. One reviewer mentioned that all the servers were women with long hair and low-cut tops. Somehow I missed that scenery passing by, but maybe it was because I was watching the world go by outside. It’s mainly gentlemen who have served me here, and they’ve been very friendly(and, luckily, appropriately attired).

Seems like this place is a hidden gem in terms of dining. When you walk in it’s a bar with a it’s casual social scene. Just a little farther back however and it’s a totally different place, a quiet dining area modeled after a train car. It’s so pretty with string lights on ceiling, vintage train station photography on walls and clean white table paper. Feels like you’re in a dining car! My husband and I went on a Wed night for his bday so it wasn’t crowded. The service was spectacular: waters were always filled, polite but non-hovering wait staff and delicious food. The tiramisu was a dream and probably the best we’ve had. Try this place for a romantic evening.

The food was bland and tasteless. I expected the bread to be warm like other Italian restaurants, but the bread was stale and cold. My wife ordered pasta with shrimp and creamy pesto sauce, it was very bland, she had to order red pepper to give it some favor. The Waiter was very inattentive, he never said what his name was. He took a long time to come by each time we needed something even though the dining room was less than 10% full. The place was dead when we were there during dinner time, 7:30pm on a Saturday evening, prime time which was ominous sign. The only reason we went was because I had purchased a coupon, the only rules on the coupon was the bill had to be over $ 50, with tax and tip not included in the $ 50 total. I satisfied the requirements, but the waiter came back and said my alcoholic drink(glass of wine) could not be included in the $ 50 total and I was $ 10 short. I told him there was no requirement stating alcoholic drinks could not be used. He still said I was $ 10 dollars short, I ask to speak to the owner, but I was told he was not available. I felt they were trying to jack up my bill, I did not argue or complain but not happy with my experience here one bit. I did not order any more food, just paid my bill and left. I tried calling the restaurant several times over the next few days, the owner I was told, was never available. I left message, no one called me back, so it seems they don’t care about the poor food and bad service. I will never eat there again.

Just had dinner here, the ambiance is a bit confused, half of it is a very noisy bar and the other half in a quiet train car with romantic lighting. Onto the food: (1) We received fresh shredded cheese, oil and bread upon sitting down which was as expected, delicious. (2) For appetizers, I had caprese salad which was an enormous portion, easily big enough for two people. My bf got the calamari which was also an enormous portion. Between the two, we preferred the caprese. (3) For main course, I ordered the Linguine Spinachi which included mushrooms, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic oil & pesto. It wasn’t what I expected at all — very strong spinach flavor, not the best. My bf ordered the Rigatoni Paesano with Italian sausage, broccoli & mushrooms in a tomato-basil sauce with mozzarella cheese. It was considerably better than my dish. This place was way over priced for the quality of food. The service was good and the portions were huge. However, I don’t think I’ll be going back. As a side note, parking is a nightmare. There are only about 10 street spots which are always taken and the garage is extremely overpriced.

Surprising good, especially considering all the mediocre reviews. The highlights were the asiago stuffed gnocchi and tiramisu. A couple of my faves for Italian cuisine and these were both great! The service and the ragu sauce on the gnocchi were both good but nothing special. The atmosphere and the bread were the areas of opportunity.

I’ve had nothing but negative experiences with this restaurant. I think they need to work on their customer service. My boyfriend also raved about Tutto Italiano and having never been there I was so excited to try their food — they have this cool dining section that’s in an old train car! First time we tried to eat there, we just missed their closing time by 2 mins(parked but had trouble getting to the actual place). Totally our fault but when they see me running in and out of breath and I look at the owner with pleading eyes… All he said was we are closed, kitchen was actually closed by 9:30p anyway. It was just sad… Empathy was definitely missing there. At least pretend you care so that I’ll actually want to come in next time? Anyway next time we tried going I called ahead to make a reservation and he told me none needed. Then when we arrived the same person made fun of me and smirkingly said«you’re the one who called». Mmmok I guess it’s funny that I just really wanted to make sure you guys would serve me. The overall experience/ambience was nice. Train car was nice. The food was bland. We ordered chicken fettuccine, gnocchi con gambri, bruschetta and the cheesecake. The bruschetta was really good, it was delicious! The two pasta dishes were just blah — I definitely expected more. At the end when we mentioned we had a certificate to use they tacked on an automatic 18% gratuity. I have no qualms with paying it except it was never stated anywhere as a requirement, reading the other reviews they do this for groupon users too. My boyfriend wasn’t even arguing about it just asked why it wasn’t disclosed anywhere including (we checked) and the server became argumentative stating how that is clear company policy and that the loop area it’s at least 18−20% gratuity and that we should be grateful we weren’t getting charged 20%. I was shocked. This is how they treat their new customers, I am surprised people keep coming back because I will not be.

This review is for the BAR area only. Totally great. This is one of those smallish«Grotto» type bars that look like they should be crawling with Playboy bunnies. Or lawyers. Or both. And it also looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 70’s. Yeah, now we are talking! I only went here for drinks, but it was a blast, and by the time I left, the bartender felt like a friend. Super cool for after work, cozy bar for a cold winter night. I sampled some of the pizza, and it was GREAT. I look forward to returning for the food.

The food was bland/tasteless, the bread brought out was stale. We ordered fried calamari, chicken fettuccine, a pizza with chicken and spinach and a pasta with shrimp/rice. Waiter was not great, the waiters helper was amazing though, never once had to ask to have my water refilled, it was always topped and had a change of napkins before we even asked, props to him. I had purchased the groupon special. I paid with my credit card. The waiter increased the price on everything slightly and automatically put himself 18% gratuity for a party of two. Which from my understanding is only done on large parties and optional depending on the service received for small parties. I did not argue or complain due to being with my mother but not happy with my experience here one bit. Antico posto in Oakbrook is actually worth their price, quality food and service. Check them out if you’re in search for a good Italian restaurant.

Nice little place that has pretty good food. It’s reasonably priced and the food is done well, good selection and no complaints about the service. A good option for a business lunch.

Below average Italian food compared to olive garden and maggianos. I came here with a groupon and as soon as the waiter heard«groupon», he had a bad attitude. Didn’t seem like he wanted to serve us or talk to us. Very dissapointed! The food was very light, the flavour wasn’t enough and the place was deserted. Would not recommend!

I found this place on Groupon and I’m so glad I did. You would drive right by it if you’re not looking(which happens to be my favorite places, go figure). The side of the building is an old train car converted into restaurant seating. When you first walk in, it looks like a typical bar and then BAM! You’re transported back in time. It was cozy but not overcrowded. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I’m always nervous trying out Italian places because you walk out feeling like a bloated water buffalo. This was just the right amount to feel full without the indigestion. Try the spinach and cheese ravioli — you won’t be disappointed. My friend had chicken and it was well cooked and moist. The only negative aspect, which really isn’t negative but more like an annoyance, is that they REALLY want you to drink your water. It seemed like every 2 minutes they were filling our glasses. Kind of overkill but thoughtful.

Went back for dinner today, got the same order as last time was equally good. The groupon i had expired and our server Mante threw in free dessert(tiramisu) to makeup, which was a very nice gesture!
