My husband and I love this little neighborhood gem. It is our number one spot for Italian comfort food. The atmosphere is cozy, the place is always busy but accommodating, the service is prompt, wine list is decent, and the food is delicious! I’m not the biggest fan of heavy Italian-American food weighed down with too much cheese, oil and salt. Via Carducci’s menu feels more authentic with fresh ingredients and plenty of light pastas and thin crust pizzas. We normally order the same thing every time: Caesar salad(best I’ve had), prosciutto and mozzarella pizza, and the bucatini pasta with pancetta. If you live in the neighborhood, it’s a must!

I highly recommend it if you are in the area. Via Carducci La Sorella is a cute restaurant on a street with mostly sports bars and places to party so it is a nice break from it all. We had lunch here before going to watch the playoffs. Nice to have some authentic Italian food instead of eating bar food at the sports bar we went to. Great value too. I’d go again.

I don’t know why I didn’t try this spot sooner! I’ve been here twice and both times the food and service were excellent. Rotini Santa Lucia pasta and Ortolana pizza were on the first visit, awesome! Rustic pizza and Parmigiana Di Melanzana was on the second visit, both were great. Fig pizza is probably not for everyone. It has a sweet taste to it. I liked it but I also was expecting the taste and texture due to the figs.

What a hidden gem!!! We went to Via Carducci La Sorella today for a business/Christmas lunch. The food was amazing and everyone in our party was impressed. We ordered several different items and started with calamari appetizer, both grilled and fried. Everyone loved the food. The service was fast and gracious. The only downfall is the valet parking doesn’t start until 4pm, but the host promptly provided an area to park next door. Excellent service! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and clean. Several of my colleagues plan to bring their spouses here for date night. Great job, and we will definitely be back!

My husband and I have lived in the neighborhood for awhile and finally made it to Via Carducci. This quaint restaurant is within walking distant of our apartment. Inside it is a bit small but we did not have a wait on a Friday night. We enjoyed a house bottle of red wine, as well as the orecchiette and the cheese ravioli. We enjoy everything and will visit again soon for dine-in or take out.

Full incredible wine selection, true creative Italian cooking that blows away the local chain sites. Very knowledgable waitstaff. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates good, well prepared food with attention to detail

Living in Chicago you have so many Italian options, Via Carducci is a great neighborhood restaurant with delicious food, drinks, and atmosphere. Make sure you try the mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto grilled w/balsamic glaze, spaghetti chicken carbonara, lasagna, and everything else on the menu. #delish

Used to go to Fullerton location and really liked that one. Just went to Division spot and it’s still very good. Among the best salads I’ve found, great main courses, and good drink selection. Small and cozy, and very good service. Our only complaint is the noise level. Was there on a very busy Saturday night with a few large parties and had a hard time hearing the people at my table. So hopefully they add some sound absorbing things, and then it may be worthy of 5 stars.

This is a quaint and wonderful place for a family dinner or date. You never feel rushed and service is wonderful. We have visited via Carducci 3 times for dinner and have always had a wonderful dining experience. The fresh veal marsala is absolutely delicious, as well as their delicious homemade marinara sauce . My wife had the homemade lobster ravioli that we shared and it was absolutely to die for not to mention they’re wonderful bottles of wine. My family loves the place and we will continue to come back.

Have been here a couple times, and thought it was fine. This time, my husband got the meatball sub… I wanted to leap across the table and devour it. Best meatball sandwich I have ever tasted. Really quaint atmosphere, and a good variety to their menu. Get the meatballs!

I think I found my new favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. Move over Quartino! I came here for a late lunch during a craft fair on Division. Had a glass of Savignon Blanc and a Rigatoni dish served with grilled eggplant and mozzarella in a tomato cream sauce. I’m picky about my Italian food being from NJ. I ate the entire plate! I will definitely be back when I’m craving a hearty pasta dish.

Good food. Great bathrooms. The orogiwticcehi(sp?) was outstanding. Perfect al dente.

Me and my husband walked in here for lunch the other day. I have to say that I wish we dressed a little better because once we got inside we realized that maybe this wasn’t a causal walk attire place, but honestly the staff still made us feel welcomed. The space is small, but comfortable. We sat at a table in the corner with the window near us. I enjoy watching people walk around the city, so window view is best for me. The staff is amazingly helpful and sooo friendly. I really felt welcomed and they answered any questions that I had. I believe I had the Philly sandwich, and it blew my mind. I will post pictures. So good. Perfect presentation. I don’t remember what my husband had, mainly because we didn’t talk the entire time. We both were enjoying our food so much I forgot to even ask. We will be back, and highly recommend. When I come back I wont be in flip flops!

Yes! My former go to Italian delivery has up and disappeared so checked around and thought I’d give Via a try… used to go to the one on Fullerton when I lived up this way but have only been to this one once… well that is about to change! Ordered tonight through Unilocal… ordered the Involtini di Melenzana which is my fav but don’t see it often. It was pretty good. Also got the Rotini Santa Lucia — mushrooms, peas, onions, crumbled sausage — yum, yum yum! I also ordered garlic bread that is very good. The also provided a salad with warm bread. I’m saving that for tomorrow. Bravo!!! I’m a happy girl!

Not very good. Appetizer had a putrid or rotten olive that made me gag. Told our server and he didn’t apologize nor did he take it away or offer any replacement. He also left it on the bill until we asked for it to be removed. Pizza was bland and didn’t have the taste of fresh ingredients. Won’t be going back.

My husband and I came here on a whim on a Friday night. Why not? It was one of the few restaurants in the neighborhood we hadn’t tried. The restaurant itself was cute but small. That wasn’t really an issue since it wasn’t full. Initially, the service started out ok. They got our drinks out and took our food orders promptly. However it took quite some time to get the appetizer. Instead if getting our food out or making sure we were doing ok, the entire restaurant staff was busy taking shots at the bar. I almost thought Charles Stiles from Mystery Diners was going to show up. When our appetizer finally came, it was delicious. We got the scallops in saffron sauce and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The entrées were a hit and miss. My mushroom and shrimp risotto was quite good, although the shrimp could have used more seasoning than just being sautéed in olive oil. My husband’s dish was below average. He got the baked penne dish. It was sad that the sauce had absolutely no flavor. It’s amazing what a little basil or oregano could do. Too bad there wasn’t any. All in all, we would come back, but it wouldn’t be somewhere on the top of our list

Their thin crust pizza(well done) is fantastic. They deliver fairly quickly. Overall a great pizza place. The only problem I have is that they can’t properly cut a pizza. I ordered a pizza last night square cut(pie cut is their standard) and they completely botched the job and this wasn’t the first time either. They did a pie cut and then after realizing they messed up, they cut it square. It looked like they cut the crusts off. We were very disappointed but didn’t call. We still ate everything. I think the Fullerton location is slightly better.

This was a great little italian restaurant that we stumbled upon after The Carriage house decided to close early even though I made reservations… We walked right in and were seated instantly. This place is obviously perfect for a date as most italian restaurants are. We started out with the bruschetta which was very light and refreshing. We then ordered the rotini santa lucia which was really good and chicken parmesan which is hard to screw up. For desert we ordered the tiramisu. I was also really impressed with the service! If you’re in the neighborhood and in the mood for italian I would defiantly recommend this place!

Living in Ukrainian Village, you have multitudes of options for Italian cuisine. Heck, there are five or so Italian restaurants on this stretch of Division St. This is my favorite. Of course, if a Groupon is available for a place, I’m gonna buy it; and Via Carducci almost always has Groupon available! By this time, I have been here over ten times. It has become my go-to, default date spot when I’m tired from a week of work or just don’t have any original thought process. They always have delicious specials, good deals on wine and beer, and a great lunch special to boot! Some of my specific favorites that I can remember were the garlic pasta with pine nuts and veal(or something crazy like that), the lobster ravioli, chicken cacciatore, and linguini with clams. Most of these were weekly specials throughout the course of the year. This place is owned by actual Italian immigrants, so my expectations were high! They have never disappointed me and I will continue to frequent this wonderful little café.
