If i could award this location no stars I would. Let me start with the general«vibe» of the place. First word that comes to mind is «crack-house». This is the closest walgreens to my house and every time i have tried to pick up my prescription from here, I get the automated call(i’m signed up for auto-refills), then i drive to the store and when i get there i’m ALWAYS told its gonna be a 30 minute wait. Why the hell are they making me wait 30 minutes if the automated message said my script was available for pick up? Service is so consistently terrible there that I just ended up transferring my script to a walgreens that’s closer to work. That’s just the first part though. Today i stopped by to grab some things and witnessed the most hilariously obvious illegal drug purchase I’ve ever seen. Idiot white guy(first sign that this dude doesn’t belong in this hood) takes out $ 60 from the ATM then asks the purchaser for«change» right there in front of the store. Get your sh*t together Walgreens at oakley and western. Just because you’re in a crappy neighborhood doesn’t mean you need to let your store go to hell.

What a horrible Walgreens! They refused to take my coupons because they stated a lot of fraud has been happening. The manager looked at the coupons I printed from and said no we don’t accept them. I questioned him as to when Walgreens changed their policy on not accepting Printed coupons and he said he would talk to the manager above him and never came back. I called corporate and they said ALL Walgreens accept printed coupons, so this guy just lied and although Managers do have the right to refuse coupons, corporate stated its only if you buy excessive items(I tried to buy 4 Tides) or if they don’t scan. Avoid this Walgreens at ALL costs, it’s also in a bad neighborhood. A lot of sketchy people.

I moved to the area about a year ago and this is my go to store besides the West Loop Target. All the cashiers are friendly and says welcome to Walgreens every time a customer enter. I can always find what I’m looking for and although the lines are always long they do move really fast. The only draw back is a lot of stuff is locked up and I have to ask for assistance to get what I need — I didn’t understand that but they said it’s because of theft. Oh, well understandable.

I use this walgreens a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. i’m a chronically ill 20 something which means i haven’t yet completely given up on the idea of living pain free and order a shit ton of medication from them. They are helpful in getting me what I need. That being said, sometimes I need to remind them 2 – 3 times before they actually order it, but still, I take a lot of weird medications that are hard to find. And they manage to do it(for everything except one drug they haven’t been able to find for months… what doctor prescribes something like that?!). They have a great pharmacist that just started working there who is incredibly kind, helpful, and personable. He calls me all the time to let me know the status of my medications; he knows how bad the wait can be when you’re living in constant pain. With all those nice things being said, this Walgreens is high volume and it appears to be high volumes of people who need assistance understanding their medications. The pharmacy staff is kind and helpful, but at times they can spend a frustratingly long amount of time working with other customers, slowing down the pick up line. It’s also damn near impossible to get someone on the phone. I’ve only done it twice and you have to call during the workday, or it won’t happen. Through my experience, I’ve found it’s always better to stop in to ask your questions. And, what other people have said in other reviews is true. Do not come to this Walgreens if you don’t want to be hit up for cash in the parking lot EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Also, I’d skip this Walgreens after dark if you can. My car has been hit in the parking lot and I’ve had people try to follow me to my car. I try to keep my visits to daylight hours.

I use this Walgreens on a regular basis. My biggest issue is the pharmacy. When I know I have to pick up prescriptions I know to plan to be in there at least 30 minutes. I have experienced getting a text or call saying the prescription is ready only to arrive and it is not. I have experienced purchasing my prescriptions along with other non-pharmacy items and to realize they never bagged the prescriptions. As far as the front of the store, I love the cashiers. I feel they go as fast as they can. Yes the lines are long but until Pete’s opened there was no other store on that corner. A suggestion I have is have a separate photo counter. The main cashier has the responsibility of getting photos, adding to ventra cards, getting liquor, and cigarettes. So sometimes that can slow it down but I think that is a fault of the design of the store and not the cashiers. As far as outside, yes you will be asked to donate, buy a movie, or flat out can you give someone some money. I just politely say no and keep it moving. The parking lot could be repaved, but so could most of the streets in Chicago.

This Walgreens is a disgrace. Unfortunately this happens to be the closest one to my apartment and I dread coming here every time. There’s never anyone available to assist you and the employees have no motivation whatsoever to help customers. Every time I come to the pharmacy my medications are never ready at the time that they are promised or they get my prescription wrong. There are always long waits and no one seems to care. Sorry but not sorry this is my last time coming here. Never a pleasant experience.

I personally have always experienced great friendly service at this walgreens. I live right around the corner and regularly walk with my dog to grab little things and prescriptions here. This morning walked in and out to pickup 2 prescriptions within 15 minutes. I’ve never experienced that at a suburban Walgreens. I’d challenge the reviewers who have listed criticm around how safe or «ghetto» this store is to check their bias. If you live in the area– I think you’ll agree that this store is a great community resource!

This location is a disgrace to your company. Hire workers that move more than one mile an hour and don’t cop attitude when you need something. It’s never taken me less than 30 minutes to get out of there and waiting there for 50 minutes for a prescription that wasn’t ready even though they emailed me that it was today was the last straw. My family and I will never set foot in here again. Thank god a Target recent;y opened nearby.

I had a large order of prints(well over 200). I submitted my order online at 9a and figured I would run errands to kill time since I knew it would take awhile. I arrived at 3:30 to pick up my prints and aside from standing in a somewhat long line my order was not ready! The customer service agents/manager were very accommodating and apologetic. I am very patient because I work in customer service and really appreciated the courtesy! I used a coupon that gave me 40% off but the manger gave me an additional discount without me asking, Thanks for great customer service!!!

Walgreens is more expensive than CVS. Much more than Target. This one is really ghetto and crowded. Don’t come here unless you want to get robbed or asked for change in the parking lot every time you go.

I’m not really fond of going to this Walgreens just because of the people that hang outside sometimes. But if I ever I need to grab something quickly this is the place to go. Lines are usually short and customer service is good as well. theyre quick

Love this place. At one point this was a really tough area to be around, but over the years with the fluctuation of redevelopment, it has been better. This particular Walgreens is a GEM! It is renovated new and even recently started to sell fresh fruits and small food items. They actually have a whole section dedicated to food. It is a nice look and I love coming here. I did use their pharmacy a few times and again, I am really impressed!

Let me started by saying the only reasons I give them 2 stars was because of location. I go to walgreen on a regular basis about 3 to 4 times a week, and ever time it’s different I see the same cashiers and manager everytime I go. One day there are really and I mean really rude the next time they seem some what friendly. The lines are always to long they take their time checking you out that’s why the lines are so long. They need to stock the food items more often, it’s seem like they only stock once a week! And it gets pretty busy in there at night… Overall they need to improve on customer service, restocking items faster.
