Best restaurant I’ve ever been to in an airport. Sushi was lovely, everything tastes fresh. Drinks were good. Everything was overpriced but that’s so typical at airports. Definitely get the dessert! I got this mango sushi that they make with soy paper and sweet rice and it was certainly unique and good!

Server, Karen, brought me the wrong roll, then forgot the other dish I ordered. No apology, no acknowledgement. «How is everything?» «Would you like some more water?» Things that would have been nice to hear… Just the basics. I love sushi but hope you have a better experience. Or, don’t bother.

I’ve passed Wicker Park so many times and finally decided to stop. I like the atmosphere it doesn’t feel like the typical airport restaurant. I had a nice table by the window with a great view of the planes. I started with the Miso Soup which was really good! For entrée, I originally ordered the Wicker Park Tidal Wave Roll but said they were out. I then tried to order the Wicker Park Trio but was told they couldn’t make that either, and was then told it was because of not having king crab legs. So I settled for a basic Philadelphia Roll. I asked to sub the cucumber for avocado. When I get the roll it only had the salmon and cream cheese. I didn’t tell him it was wrong, the server was really nice and busy. It still tasted amazing and fresh! They also give a 15% discount to crew members instead of the usual 10% most airport places give, so that was a nice surprise! Overall a decent experience. I’ll definitely be back to try the Tidal Wave Roll one day!

I would say the sushi quality is pretty good. I only ordered 3 sushi: 1 toro — the fish isn’t that fresh but does have the average quality of fattiness in it. 2 hotote — it was very meaty and fat! 3. White tuna — it was pretty fresh and has a lot of fattiness in it Complaints are: 1. The service for an airport restaurant is extremely slow despite sitting on a counter seat. The waitress was even slow at getting the bill. 2. The rice is not the Average quality Japanese rice, it was sorta hard. Also, they give really small amount of rice for a sushi. But if you have time, you should definitely try it. Bring cash to speed up payment services. The sushi rolls looked really good. Will try that next time.

Eating raw sushi is such a bad idea before you board the plane, but I can’t resist myself and got a California roll inside out w tobiko and a bowl of miso soup. So happy I did that, the soup was packed w soft tofu and lots of tobiko on the roll! YUMMY!!! I gave it a 5 star based on airport sushi and the service was great!

I’ve now eaten at Wicker Park six times, usually because I’ve got an insane delay on a United flight, and I’m always pleasantly surprised. My expectations for airport sushi are pretty low; I only go this route if I’m really jonesing for raw fish and consider it a «win» if I can satiate my craving and avoid food poisoning. So using that context, let me say how much I appreciate the folks at Wicker Park. This isn’t jaw-dropping, life-changing sushi, but WP consistently delivers fast, efficient service before my connection, and I always leave satisfied. They also have delicious spicy mayo. That said, if this were not an airport, I’d probably give WP two or three stars.

I wanted to like this place and to be sure there were a couple of positives, but there were just too many negatives to say it was a good experience. I ordered two rolls and a single order of sashimi a la carte. The sashimi was good, however the soy sauce that they use is some low sodium variety that they have kicking around in an unbranded bottle. I don’t know what it was exactly, but it tasted like extremely watered down soy sauce, very little flavor at all. Unfortunately it really took away from the sashimi which in and of itself was good. The rolls were very pedestrian, nothing to get in any way excited about. I would not be surprised to find an equivalent quality roll in my local grocery store. Coupled with the weak soy sauce and it was barely edible. To top it all off, I was very thirsty and drank probably four glasses of water which required me to spend half of my time here flagging down the bartender who walked right by me an average of 5 or 6 times before realizing that I was trying to get his attention. On a positive note that meant I spent less time thinking about the food. I know it’s airport sushi, but based on decent reviews and some awards they’ve won for airport dining I expected more. I was disappointed, and I likely wont come back. Tortas Frontera it is.

For airport sushi this place really holds it’s on. Really solid wine selection and bar too. Definitely one of the best places to find in OHNO! I mean Ohare Airport. All of the chefs are super legit and knowledgeable. And the set up is perfect for people watching. If you’re into that kinda thing. Lol, I’m not. I crack myself up. Haha I assume your laughing and it makes me laugh. Like literally lol. Anyway yeah it’s worth a stop. If it were a regular sushi bar on the street I may have giving it a three because I’ve had better.

I always hope for a slight delay @ORD to swing by this sushi joint in the airport. In the United terminals, this is the best place for food in ORD. The options are great; but I usually have 3 varied rolls and a single Sapporo. The service is quick even though this joint is always packed. They have a good size crew that’s very compartmentalized. The servers take order, the chefs make the food and another crew delivers. I don’t know what they are called; but they do that task only. It’s great I think. The price is a bit more than normal; but the food is good and especially good for airport food.

They have pretty good sushi for an airport place. The service was quick and friendly. They will also give you a «to go» cup for your adult beverage if you can’t finish in time to make your flight. I had the tempura shrimp and the Spider Roll. The tempura shrimp roll was what you would expect, but the Spider Roll was huge, and I don’t mean that in a good way. It was so big that it wasn’t pleasant to eat. The flavor was pretty good, but they should have cut much smaller pieces. I didn’t have a salad, but the girl’s salad next to me looked pretty and flavorful. Also, their house chardonnay is delicious!

Always good food. The sashimi is great, i typically prefer the tuna and salmon. The toro is very good as well, but you pay a premium for it. Worth a stop if you are looking for some fresh seafood.

I had a nice two hour layover at the Chicago airport and walked by this sushi restaurant. The layout looked nice so I decided to try it out. I ordered a large Sapporo, tuna sashimi and one of their dinner boxes that came with a California roll, and one salmon nigri, shrimp nigri and tuna nigri along with a teriyaki chicken and a nice big side salad. Ive had better chicken but hey it’s the airport! All of it was pretty good for being in an airport and all. Prices weren’t too bad either… ran about $ 50 without tip. Great service and bug open spacing with tables and a huge bar area. Would definetely go back.

Wow! Great sushi place in the Chicago Airport! I know it sounds like something you shouldn’t do, like gas station sushi or something, but this place is beautiful and has great service and sushi. My husband and I ordered 4 rolls while we were on a 5 hour layover. At noon the place was slowly starting to fill up, but we got seated right away. The food took about 15 mins to come out, which is acceptable for sushi, and boy was it beautiful! One of the rolls was a lobster roll, and it came out with the lobster tail decorating the plate. Very nice presentation! If you have a couple of hours to spare, I highly recommend this place! Airport sushi isn’t scary, hey… the fish has to fly in from somewhere, might as well eat it right as it lands!

Just completed my annual recurrent training(evacuating aircrafts, putting out fires, administering medical care inflight, etc.) so after a LONG day of all that, I treated myself to some sushi before my flight home. And a beer. I had never been to this place before, being based at ORD for three years. It was pretty good. Not cheap. But a solid 4 stars. Decent service. Airport employee discount of 15%. This likely will not be a spot that I frequent often, but a nice treat once every three years or so. :)

Those that spend lots of time in O’Hare know that it sorely lacks good dining options and that you’re generally left with fast food courts, kiosks, or the vastly overrated tortas from Frontera. But, in comes Wicker Park, with its sprawling and modern spot in between Concourse B and the wing that generally serves the smaller regional jets. I’ve walked by several times, but had never had a long enough layover there to consider it until recently. Wicker Park is everything that the other options in this Terminal are not… clean, hip, comfortable, and inviting. Unfortunately, it only serves as a façade for very subpar sushi and other Japanese fare with an airport restaurant pricetag. Trust me, I’m not some California sushi snob that thinks that you can only get good stuff if you’re within three blocks of the coast. My early days were spent eating sushi at a converted Dairy Queen in Southern Indiana, and some of my favorite joints in the States are in Denver(I do notice the irony in that last statement). Clearly, you can get the good stuff anywhere they can ship in the fish(and that would seem to include airports, eh?) The stuff that was dished out here didn’t even stand-up to grocery store quality. I didn’t have a ton of time, but grabbed a roll and an order of sake nigiri. Although edible, the fish had that grey-ish tinge with a dry and chewy texture that was by no means on par with the price point. This was also the case for the tuna that surrounded the $ 18 roll. Granted, sitting at the bar here is a decent alternative to being wedged in between tipsy businessmen and the dudes doing shots while waiting for their Southwest flight to Vegas in the tiny«sports bars» that clutter this concourse… but next time, I’ll probably keep walking.

Love this place. It’s classy and bright. Good seating areas. They serve wine and beer and other drinks. Prices are reasonable — comparable with non-airport restaurants. I enjoyed a glass of the cab(8), followed by a spicy tuna maki(9), ending with veggie roll(7) Servers were good. Efficient and responsive Odd is an old airport now but has some nice places if you know where to go.

Lobster roll was just meh. Bland by itself, ok with just a little bit of soy sauce. Green tea was not green. At least they sat is at some comfy lounge style chairs by the window. Redeeming quality: green tea tiramisu. Skip the sushi and just go for dessert!

Wine on tap, sushi, oysters on ice, bowls of warm noodles and a sushi bar that seems to go on forever… sign me up! Not wanting to leave our terminal and not desiring bar food we were happy to find Wicker Park in the Main Hall T2. We were promptly seated at the sushi bar and noticed many of the customer were slurping up udon. I ordered sparkling water, a veggie roll and hamachi nigiri. Service was friendly and with lots of chefs on the line our food came out quickly. I enjoyed the veggie roll stuffed with asparagus, Japanese cucumber and other fresh vegetables. The buttery nigiri were good cuts but could have been fresher. Jesse’s miso soup was rich and creamy with a bonus piece of tempura. Overall a decent spot to dine at the airport.

3.5 stars — some go up some go down. Quick stop here at the one and only Sushi/Asian restaurant in O’hare which is welcome option compared to the low quality sodium happy Chinese food court garbage food. My typical thoughts are like some of the other reviewers when it comes to expectations for sushi or upper quality Asian food in an airport. However what I’ve found is if you give this place a chance with an open mind you’ll see it’s pretty decent. Wicker Park is in the hallway from Terminal one in a quieter area near Johnny Rockets. A long restaurant with a big long counter where you can sit«at the bar» style or have a table close by as well. Not in the mood for sushi. I decided to go with the grilled chicken udon for lunch. It was served in a decent sized bowl and flavour of the broth was quite good. The chicken had a nice distinctive fresh grilled flavour. Like to was grilled on a small but sizzling hot Japanese hibachi grill. Chicken was a tad chewy but good texture. Udon was typical slippery and the broth had a decent umami with not being overly salted. Only downside was the egg was hard boiled and not the soft boiled which I find more exquisite. Soup came with a topping of chopped nori seaweed and scallion. I could prefer a bit less nori as. I found it masked the true flavour of the broth but overall a decent lunch. Service was okay. I wouldn’t call it super fast but not very slow. However the restaurant was not very busy on my visit. Do not come here thinking it’s Nobu or Momufuku as you may be disappointed. Come with lowered expectations and it’s okay. Especially for Airport Japanese-sushi.

Sushi at the airport? Yes. This food is worth the long trip from Terminal 1 into what seems to be O’Hare’s netherworld. In fact, it’s probably the best food at O’Hare and can compete with any sushi bar in the nation. Though we arrived at lunchtime on a Wednesday as a group of 6 without a reservation, we were seated right away. My Ginger Mojito had a nice boozy strength. The Eel Roll(eel, cucumber, avocado, and unagi sauce) and Rainbow Roll tasted fresh and satisfying. The two rolls that really stood out were the Spanish Dynamite Roll(yellowtail, shallot, crab, tuna, jalapeño, and cilantro) and Hot Night Roll(shrimp tempura, tuna, sriracha, spicy radish, and scallions) with just the right amount of spice. I wish I could have them again. Everything thus far got us so excited that we ordered all 3 desserts on their menu which fell right into step with their theme: The Green Tea Tiramisu served refreshingly frozen, Banana Roll(banana, chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream in soypaper), and Maui Roll(papaya, mango, coconut, coconut milk, and pineapple in soypaper) were all major parties in my mouth. This place is a MUST for anyone at O’Hare.
