Daisy’s Dairy Bar is located along busy Routes 4÷202÷9 in Chichester, just east of the Hess station. This seasonal colorful ice cream takeout place is part of the driving range(in back) serving Blake’s Ice Cream(hard) and Hood soft serve ice cream, offering cones, cups, sundaes, splits, frappes, shakes, freezes, and floats. They also offer mini banana splits($ 2.99) and lobster rolls($ 6.95). Cones/cups prices(in 2009): Soft serve($ 2-$ 3) and Hard ice cream($ 2.50-$ 3.50). For the pooch, they offer dog bone cones($ 1.75). I stopped here on a brisk Friday for ice cream. I walk up to the window and no one is around. I rang the bell and still no one. After 5 minutes, I finally walk to the back of the building where there were several golfers at the driving range and found a staff member who works the front counter. I decided on the Brownie Sundae Special($ 3.99 plus tax) with Boston Blackout ice cream, brownies, hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts, and cherry on top. The sundae took about 5 minutes to be made since the the fudge needed to be zapped and the staff member hadn’t made a sundae in a while. The brownie sundae was a bit messy and enjoying this treat needing a few napkins to wipe the cup. The owner calls out, «Did she make you a messy sundae?» The brownie sundae tasted pretty good with lots of hot fudge added. Can’t wait until next season! NOTE: Closing for the season on October 18, 2009
