I’ve only been here for Metal shows and each one I’ve attended has been fairly decent. Whomever does the sound at these shows does a great job considering the size of the venue isn’t very massive. It would be nice if there were more chairs available.

I’m writing this review for Rogue Theater more than 1078 but since Rogue doesn’t have their own Unilocal and they are housed in 1078 I choose to do it on this page. Rogue is one of the best local theater companies in Chico. They’re known for putting on plays that are as they say ‘not easy to watch.’ The shows are often have a small cast(no more than 5 people), limited set changes, and difficult subject material. The acting is normally top notch and the theater company does a really great job of choosing plays that challenge norms and expectations of society while still keeping the audience engaged. Its a rather small and intimate setting for a play and seating is limited(though its rarely 100% sold out), but with the plays performed its quite nice to have it be such a small affair. I think Rogue theater is one of the things in Chico I will miss most, quality theater at an affordable price. They also have a really cool way of charing for admission, its either 7 dollars or you roll two die and pay total. So cool!

I was at the gallery the other day for a(musical) show, so I cannot say what it’s like there when there aren’t chairs set up. Acoustically, it appeared to be fine. Visually, it was lovely to see musicians with cool art in the background, although the art on one of the walls to the left was sort of lame. I did like the goldfish, but next to that were some ho-hum photos that didn’t look like they belonged. Drinks. I don’t know if this is normal, but it was $ 3 for a beer/wine. Fine by me! It’s not a huge space, but it accommodated 30 – 50 people quite comfortably. The(1) bathroom was clean, had all supplies necessary, and had a functioning locking door.
