Almond Tree Mini Storage

I think those that had 1 star experiences here are overlooking their own fault in the situation. Almond tree has a website listing all unit sizes, features, and rates, along with all of their policies. Also on their website it clearly states that there’s a minimum of one month. You signed a lease with them at your own error, it’s not their fault you were supposed to have a unit in Redding. They reserved that unit for you and they won’t be able to immediately fill that space, so they lost money because of YOUR error.
I rented a unit here over the summer of ’14 to store some belongings between apartments. The rate was very reasonable, the property is gated and alarmed, and it’s in a reasonably nice area of town, as opposed to some of the storage places on Nord that are a little sketchier. I had the unit for about 3 months.
For the final month, even though I would be moving out of the unit half way through the month, I fully expected to have to pay the full months rent (since rent is due at the beginning of the month). To my surprise and immense satisfaction however, when I moved out, they wrote me a refund check for the prorated amount of the rest of the month that I wasn’t utilizing. So I left with $ 45 extra bucks in my pocket when I moved out. Most storage places will just keep your rent for the rest of the month.
Do your research online. This place is a combination RV park and storage facility. The owners are an older couple who do everything themselves for the business, from accounting to cleaning. They don’t want to spend the time to read off every single unit size and it’s rate (there are a lot of them) to every person that was too lazy to do a quick google search.
I highly recommend this place for any storage or RV park needs, I found the owner couple to be courteous and hard working.

I literally just got off the phone with this business. The woman I spoke to was very rude and impatient with me. I called, enquiring about unit sizes and prices. As I am not calling for myself, I am calling for a friend who is at work, I was unaware of what size unit she would be needing. The woman listed several unit sizes and prices without any pause so that I had no time to even write them down, before she stopped. She said I could come by their office to pick up a brochure and belittled me when I said I wasn’t interested in driving across town. I asked why she couldn’t just give me the information, and with a sigh, she continued listing the units and prices with no pauses so that I could not write them down. I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THIS BUSINESS TO MY FRIEND, NOR ANYONE ELSE! STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!

I have used this same Storage company for over four years now. At times I have used the smaller units and the larger ones. I have also had multiple storage units at one time. I feel that these are the best storage units in Chico due to their on sight manager, security gates and alarmed units. I have never had any issues with this company and their employees have always been pleasant to me. My daughter even once accidentally left one of our storage units unlocked and they called me right away to let me know. The place is also very well kept. I would highly recommend this as a storage facility for anyone.

After 36 hours of signing a lease agreement, my husband and I found out we needed a storage unit in Redding instead of a storage unit in Chico. The manager was incredibly rude emphatically stating that we are obligated to pay for a full month’s rent. She said that even if they re rented the unit, she would not reimburse us the first month’s rent. CA civil code 1954 that states that a landlord may not collect double rent on any rental for any period of time. When the law was brought to her attention, she was surprised and even more rude about the situation. When dealing with rental properties, I would expect for a manager to know the law. I would not recommend dealing with this storage unit facility as the manager is uncooperative and ignorant.

Great customer service. Alarms on all storage units. I tested the alarm system. Opened the unit without using the security card and it went off, loved it. The units are set up for easy access.
