I love this spot! Out of all the bars in Chico, and around graduation time, this place surprisingly was not that packed! They had amazing drinks, great service and the price was pretty good as well. I loved their gin speciality drinks. They also have an outdoor patio area with games to play and they just opened up a small food area outside, too!

Good drinks. Chill vibes. A lil expensive but not really. Wish they had appetizers of some sort.

Fantastic cocktails, best Old Fashioned in town. Never pretentious, always friendly & helpful. Plus delicious & interesting cocktail menu with something new to try. Always a fun experience for those who understand that paying for the atmosphere is well worth it, especially in a college town.

One of our favorite spots, so far. I was brought here for the first time by my friend on my birthday weekend and it was such a great place to visit. The place wasn’t that busy, we found a good spot. Normally, a waitress is suppose to come take your order. But she didn’t even stop by, there was a group of 3 who came in at the same time and she greeted them immediately. My friend decided to go get us some drinks at the bar, we were having a good night we are not going let that ruin our night. The waitress stopped by and asked if we were okay after being there for almost an hour. Hell, I’ll get up and get my own drinks if I want more. I gave it a second chance with my fiancé and everything was way better, we were well taken care of. We stopped by a 3^rd time with our out of town guests and it was even better. Our server/​bartender was very accommodating and caring, making sure we were taken care of and we’re happy with our drinks. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a more laid back bar environment. Definitely coming back!

Two words: Frida Kahlo! Best tequila based cocktail I’ve had. In fact most of their specialty cocktails are pretty good. The patio is really nice during the Sumner (though not great if you’re a nonsmoker.) They have a great mix of people and their music is always random and surprising.

Argus is great if you want a more grown up, mature atmosphere. I was shocked to see most people were dressed up! It’s different from every other bar downtown and has a really good vibe to it. Drinks are unique and made from premium ingredients, and you’re welcome to bring in food from other locations. Prices are a bit higher than other bars, but it’s great because it will weed out a lot of people who are just looking to get trashed off dollar drinks.
I can’t wait to come back and see the patio– I hear it’s pretty cool.
One suggestion would be someone in charge of the sound quality. The quality of sound would change from song to song– sometimes too much treble, sometimes too loud. Maybe Argus could incorporate a DJ– maybe some mellow bass music or something relaxing. It’s a thought!

The Southside Rickey is my favorite drink in town, very crisp & clean (second only to the white linen at Shady Lady).
I really love that they have cards against humanity and a large patio for nice evenings.
It’s nice enough where you will find young professionals and not too many ‘kids’ and other unsavory customers. The craft cocktails & slightly higher price-​point seem to attract a good demographic. This is now my ‘spot’ and love every time I come here.

Love this place. Hands down best bar in town. The atmosphere is great and in turn produces a great crowd. (No wasted college kids drinking fruity shots and screaming or fighting.) the staff is amazing. Great service, great drinks, price is a tad high but it’s well worth the minimal extra money to be here than any other bar in town.

Groundskeeper willy is the BEST drink ever. Great atmosphere and great drinks. They drinks are on the pricer side but that gets you away from the drunk loud college kids. I would pay for these drinks any day. Love this place!

I love Argus. They have always been friendly to me and their drinks are craft, home made and delicious. Argus is my go-​to for a good quality drink, especially on the awesome back patio, to enjoy while I sit and talk to friends, something that is very hard to do in most of Chico’s bars.
The food truck in the back… genius! Who doesn’t want delicious fusion tacos and snacks after a night of drinks. Well done guys/​gals!
It cracks me up when people leave bad reviews that I’ve seen on here, this is why Unilocal is dangerous to businesses, because any Joe Schmo and Jane Schmo person can rant about nothing important instead of a good critique.
Top end bar for Chico, and for the «welcome to Chico» reviewer, welcome to Chico where usually bars are smelly and overcrowded. Welcome to something called classy and something called adulthood.

Love the décor, ambiance and the kind of people that go there! In addition the food truck in the patio is one of the best ideas! I tried both the taco truck and crêpe. Delicious!

This place has real adults. I kept wondering where these people hung out before Argus existed. I’ve never seen so many people NOT wearing yoga pants or other athletic wear. It was a nice change of pace.
I kept thinking this was the hang out place for Chico executives or real estate agents where they come for some good cocktails and discuss their interns. I loved it. The back patio is the best asset of this bar with its open atmosphere and food cart area. I went on the night they were cooking crepes. Um, yum!
As for the drinks, they’re fantastic. The bartenders create each drink with so much passion that it makes me appreciate the cocktail much more. I tried the Chapmantown and Pisco Sour my first night there. The Chapmantown smelled amazing with the orange peel and the Pisco Sour had a thicker texture thanks to the egg white that comes in the drink.
Don’t expect to come here for sugar-​laden shots with cute names. It’s a place for conversation and drinks that you appreciate.

Good changes have come! No more aggro doorman, no more rage music on the stereo. The back patio continues to shine, and musical performances are regularly happening. Way to be!

Wife and I recently stopped by Chico to do some ‘memory lane’ walking downtown and found this spot. What a pleasant treat! Although when I think of Chico I think cheap and mass quantity alcohol this was a good change of pass. Nice to see craft cocktails in the area. I can this maybe not being a huge hit with the younger crowd as the price, selection, and atmosphere is more mature. I personally really liked the limited rotating menu. The bar tender (Adam) was super friendly and even made us a few drinks off the cuff. Very knowledge can’t wait to stop back in when in the area!

Started date night at the Argus.
When you first walk in you’ll immediately say «this place is cool». It’s got a nice vibe, the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable.
We’ll definitely be back.

Visiting because my wife and I may move here. We love cocktail places and want to find a place with quality crafted cocktails with no college students! So far so good!

While the drinks are great, they are expensive! And we didn’t see any happy hour deals.
I will say they have one of the best greyhounds I’ve ever had. Fresh grapefruit juice from actual grapefruits make a huuuuuge difference! And they add a fun twist with their strawberry infused vodka.

I was visiting a friend in Chico and he suggested our group check this place out. He said it was pretty popular with our age group; mind you we are all in our late 20’s-early 30’s.
Classy atmosphere and they have TVs going. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. The drink selection is pretty standard and good local beers.
We sat in the patio and a lot of other people had the same idea. I would love to come back here when in town again!
