why in gods name would you put a chili dog on a damn CIABATTA BUN AND CUT THE DOG IN HALF (long ways)?!? You tainted my dog by butchering it what the hell? I was so upset with that shit, chili dogs are suppose to be able to eat with 1 hand. This was ridiculous. The chicken from my salad was so overly peppered I had to spit it out. Read other reviews it looks like the cool is a damn moron and over peppering everything. It was fucking disgusting. Guinness shake barely tasted like Guinness, lacking. The burgers are probably the only good thing about this place. Also, if you bring your dog to be with you when you’re outside at a table, control your fucking animal and don’t let it jump up on other people eating. WE WONT BE BACK.

I used to love burgers and brew when they were in their old location. But I came back today and got a turkey burger which I remember to be thick and super juicy. Unfortunately it was really flat and seriously over peppered. I got my boyfriend a mushroom and onion burger (he’s never had their food) and he said his was over peppered as well. I noticed a lot of tables needed to be bussed for quite some time and the girls behind the bar ignored me for 15 minutes and I just had somebody else pour me my beer. I never even got a hello or a hi how are you. It was really a bummer because I remember this place being one of my favorite spots. Maybe next time will be a better experience. The only reason I gave two stars is because I have had previous good experiences, just not this time.

Service is terrible! Everyone is either chatting or on their cell phone. Who hires these people!!! Food is okay, I can make better burgers at home for way cheaper.

Meh. 45 min for a table. 30 min for food. Had to ask for everything. Beer prices were good. Onion rings were good. Buffalo burger was dry n lacked flavor. Probably will be bank for a happy hour but that’s it.

…update on my earlier review… I was accused of «dining and dashing» by an employee here a few weeks ago… my payment was right on the bar the whole time… my review was criticized by the current manager… so this now makes THREE people from this «organization» who have had a chance to apologize for this… and NONE of them have… the guy who served me… the owner… and a manager… instead of apologizing, the manage took to criticizing ME for having the audacity to review WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED… I gave the owner ample time to respond to my letter… and he has done nothing… remember folks, all I did was order, drink, and pay for a beer… they have not admitted to making a mistake or apologize for it… YOU COULD BE NEXT…

Best burgers I’ve ever tasted. Fresh flavorful burger, the veggies are ripe and crisp. The spicy guacamole is unreal! Fries with flavored mayo or the salad are great choices. Try the cider!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS… I used to be a regular… went in a couple of times a week for a happy hour brew or two… last time in, I ordered a beer, drank it, and left the $ 3 under my empty glass and on top of a coaster… when I left and got half a block away, I was accosted by the guy who «served» me… he accused me of «dining and dashing»…when I asked him what happened to the money I left, he had a blank look on his face… I marched him back into the place and sure enough, there was my payment… right where I left it… in cash… did I get an apology from this underling… no I did NOT… did I get an admission of a mistake made… no I did NOT… so I wrote to the man who owns the place… he is in sacramento… I stated my case and left a mailing address and an e-​mail address… I asked him for his thoughts on the matter… what I got in return was NOTHING AT ALL… no correspondence… no e-mail…no apology… no NOTHING… so I guess that means he condones what his employee did… I will NEVER set foot in this place again… and don’t think it cant/​wont happen to you…

Our burgers were average, for a place that has the name burger I expected more.
It took a long time but I will say the prices were not bad. Our waitress seemed very inexperienced. She brought me a refill but not my date, he had an empty glass. I really did like sitting outside downtown, that part was really nice. Not sure I would go back.

Wow, I’m in love with this place.
Had the bacon jalapeño burger and the waiter suggested I add the spicy guacamole-…wow, maybe the best thing ever! I also had garlic fries, Maaannn, they were off the hook!!. They also came w jalapeño mayo, red pepper mayo, bbq sauce and ranch. Delightfully kicked in the face I was. The spice was great and the burger friggin delicious!
Beer was really good, although I couldn’t taste much of it after I got very far into my burger.
We sat outside and they had a clear plastic screen bocking a lot of the noise from inside. Nice lights and also had a toasty fire going in the corner– classy touch.
All in all, loved it.

UPDATE!!!
This is taking way too long. My girlfriend and I got here at 8:30pm and it’s currently 10:00pm and all we’ve gotten was 2 glasses of water. They couldn’t even get some fries out. I have no idea what’s going on in he kitchen because there is absolutely nobody here and they still can’t do it. Been here before and it’s not normally like this but burgers and brew has got to step it up
UPDATE! This is absolutely unacceptable… After waiting upwards of an hour and a half!!! The prick kid who took our order didn’t even put it in. After asking multiple waiters about our food and all of them saying that they’ll check nobody actually did anything. My girlfriend and I specifically waited to eat because we wanted to devour our food! Little did we know we would eventually be so hungry that we had lost our appetite. The waiters and waitresses were severely bellow trailed. Once the kid realized that he messed up, he told his manager who told other waitresses who had some random guy walk up to us and tell us that he’d gladly put in the order for us. What everyone had been saying was that there was a problem in the kitchen and was telling customers that they were closed at 9:45pm when they close at 12 because they ran out of food. Regardless this is absolute bullshit and I’m never going here again.

Let me start off by saying normally this place is amazing but tonight was a different story. We came in and it wasn’t busy yet it looked like they were getting ready for a bigger party but they weren’t there yet. We sat down and ordered. Our server says «Oh that should be up really quick». Again I say it wasn’t busy. 35 minutes later… We finally got our meal. Our server never came to check on us in that time. Then when we got our meal part of it was wrong. We had it taken back. No sorry from the server or anyTonight made me not want to go back. Nothing is wrong with the food it was the service that sucked tonight!

Nice warm heated and enclosed patio for those cold nights. My husband and I came here after deciding to not compete with the college crowd for a table at the Bear Garden. We decided to try them again some time during the day. in the meantime, we both enjoyed delicious hamburgers and fries here. I had a bacon cheeseburger with spicy guacamole and he had a regular cheeseburger. Both of us had the garlic fries, which I would not try again just because it wasn’t a flavor I liked. They did bring us some spicy sauce to dip them in which was nice. Everyone here was friendly and helpful. Oh we also tried a banana bread beer that was excellent. If you’re looking for a good variety of brew, this is your place.

Everything was great all around! My grilled chicken sandwich was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Ashton helped us and really made the experience even better. He was helpful and very sweet. The whole experience was great and I will definitely be back.

up from Berkeley with Gio for birding… on Tuesday night 1/19/16.needed to eat after 9pm. most of Chico shuts down. maybe the best late night option in town. great Niman Schell cheesebuger with huge blue cheese garden salad instead of fries it was fantastic but the Niman Schell lamb burger was really gamey should have sent it back… maybe the meat a bit old? stick with beef!!!

Best burgers in Chico! Just the meat it self is the real deal! Great service and most excellent beers. Great for a fancy date night, without a lot of frou frou. If there’s any drawbacks it might be that the place is kind of raucous and rowdy, but if your of a mindset for it its just awesomeness!9

This isn’t much of a traditional restaurant, with waiters and hosts. It’s a quick service store where you order the food and get your own water. You can call someone over if they’re walking around and you need something extra.
The burgers and fries are just OK. I ordered the spicy guacamole burger, and there wasn’t anything special about it. No kick, no special outstanding taste. I mean if you’re in any town where there’s an In N Out, it’s hard to compete with their prices and consistency of freshness and taste.
The offer a wide variety of beer but for a location where you have to do so much yourself, they should really lower the prices.
They do have outlets and coat/​purse hangers at the bar though.

Place has great burgers and a great beer selection. The specialty fries are bomb too. I felt compelled to write this review after seeing the last review go up. This establishment isn’t geared towards catering to infants. And the fact that these people had the audacity to change a baby in the middle of a restaurant/​bar is disgusting. And to put a dirty diaper on the table to take a picture is absolutely grotesque. Next time get a sitter or hit up a McDonald’s or Chuckie Cheese.

BEST BURGERS YOU WILL HAVE IN YOUR LIFE. I CRAVE B&B EVERY SINGLE DAY… NO JOKE. Incredible beer selection! Have new brews on tap every few days. They absolutely have something for everyone. This is my overall favorite restaurant everrrrr. My husband and I have been in a love triangle with this place since they moved to town in 2010 and we will never stop frequenting Burgers and Brew. Try the bacon jalapeño cheeseburger plus spicy guacamole. You won’t be disappointed!

They don’t have changing tables for children in their bathrooms. Huge bummer this used to be one of our favorite places in Chico… NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY

Great spot downtown for food and beer… huge selections and portioning… decent pricing for downtown… great service and fun atmosphere! The food is excellent as well!

Corey was very helpful when it came to serving my family of 10. The food was good portion with great prices! Love the lights and heat lights outside and so many ways to eat fries and of course the beer selection, wow!
Next time I’m on Chico I will def. come back.

Great food for a great price. The burger is cooked to order however you like your burger cooked. You fill your own water here. No need for a waiter to bother you while you’re eating to fill up your water. They never had to ask me how I was doing while I was eating and that’s how I like it.

First time here, not sure why old location has better reviews, this place rocks. started with a beer (Flat Tail of 67 choices! Is that all??) Then got the Spicy Guacamole Burger (DAMN!!) and garlic fires (YES, believe in the name, you will be tasting garlic, enough said), and last had great service, both bartenders and all servers were very attentive and very helpful, second beer (can’t remember name was bartenders choice and favorite). I am up in this area monthly and will definitely be back!

At the end of the day, the food is what matters and this place delivers with ease (for the most part). I was, however, amazed at 9 pm the amount of staff versus patrons and the lack of ambition to serve a new table. Literally 11 people standing around with nothing to do but serve and it took 14 minutes to get a first drink.
Our server was as inexperienced in cuisine as you can imagine. Nice kid but never a server I’d hire on my own. The young man thought me placing my napkin over my food was a sign of «Don’t Take» when it’s the exact opposite. He also had no problem walking by without even attempting to recognize an additional beer sale ready to happen.
I ordered an app of beer battered onion rings which were decent but their oil is/​was about 3 days overdue for a change. Still delicious however.
For my entrée I ordered the lamb burger. This is a 5 star burger. It’s perfect.
My guest ordered a jalapeño burger with bacon and french fries. He’s happy if the beer is cold and his burger is hot so no complaints from him.
At the end these guys have a great setup, great food and a less than ready staff (or not so motivated). A little attention to staffing and this place could be a home run. With that said, if I’m ever in Chico again, I’d give ‘er another go just for that Lamb burger and delicious beer menu.

I like their new location. It’s a lot better than the old one.
The Spicy Guacamole Burger was great! I highly recommend it. Only order the garlic fries if you like A LOT of garlic, though.
There are a couple things that stood out to me that require immediate attention.
1) The Noise Levels
The noise in this restaurant is at a level I’d refer to as unpleasant. With the new location now active, I strongly recommend investing in noise-​reducing panels on the ceiling/​walls. I could not hear the hostess OR the waiter when they were talking to me. I asked my girlfriend what they said, and she didn’t hear either both times.
2) The Parking Lot
This is Chico. Invest in some security lights so I don’t have to be paranoid getting to my car in pitch black if I park in the back of the lot. There are many dumpsters and walled in areas that a thief could easily ambush someone going out to their car. Security lights aren’t that expensive and would help a lot.
All in all, one of the best burgers in town (easily top 3) and a nice new location!

Good food, HORRIBLE service. Here with a group and no, they don’t split checks, but they also don’t «allow you» to order inside separately. Just a weird policy.
Well, we ended up ordering multiple rounds of drinks inside anyway since our server flat out ignored us after she took our initial order. She literally did not even look up for us to flag her down when she was at other tables nearby. Beers, water, everything else went empty for 20+ mins and we couldn’t flag anyone else down to get service. My boyfriend’s beer never even arrived. The food took a while and then we all had to wait for napkins and silverware AFTER we got our food.
You’re a beer place. Keep people’s beers full… You’ll have happy customers and you’ll make more money for the business.
Pathetic. The lamb burger was great but sometimes not even good food is enough to save impossibly terrible service. I wish the service was better because I’d totally frequent this place, but unfortunately I’ll probably never be back.

You would think that all the downtown Chico restaurants would be on top of their game this week. Wrong!
Where do I start…1^st waitress left us sitting for 15 mins, without even acknowledging we were there… ok so she says she is new… Fast forward 20 mins later, we see her walk outside & cross the street… What is going on?
New waitress comes by & says «oh your waitress is spent, she had to go home»…
We order our food, new waitress comes rushing by our table, nudges my chair & says «oh my bad»…Wait, is she serious?
Comes back to our table after my hubby had to flag her down. what does she say? «I’ve done my 6, gotta go».
Seriously, this place is a joke, horrible service, don’t even get me started on the food.
I was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out.

The employees here have no clue. I eat here quite often because I think the food is actually pretty good, but the service is subpar at best. I’m lucky if the dozen or so Millennials running around playing waiters even notice me half of the time, and when they do, I’m usually assured the satisfaction of becoming dissatisfied by their lack of professionalism or ability to comprehend THE CUSTOMERS ARE THE REASON YOU ARE THERE.
Tonight, a server with long greasy hair and an honest attempt at a beard met me at the door when I was trying to enter. He did not open the door for me per se, but was courteous enough to let me pass, saluting me with a vague «Oh, hey, man» sort of greeting. When I started to sit at a four-​top table in the vacant indoor portion of the establishment, I asked if it was kosher, to wit he said «Well…yeah. It’s not that busy.»
After opening the menu he had given me — which he handed me upside down and with the obverse side facing the table — I adjourned to go wash my hands, knowing it would be a minute before whomever was going to wait on me approached. Alas, when I returned from the restroom — less than a minute later — my menu was gone. I guess they were just as thrilled to see me disappear as I was to leave.
Alas, this was not the first time anything unfavorable had happened to me there. In fact, it’s guaranteed to occur each and every time I walk onto the premises. They either don’t know or don’t care, and whoever the inattentive ghost is in charge of the staff, they clearly could do with a few classes in customer service.

Great selection of beer? Check. Great food? Check. Patio seating? Check. Friendly and quick service? Check. This makes Burgers & Brew a winner in my book!
We went in for a late dinner on a Saturday night. There were a lot of people, but we had no problem getting a spot on the patio. Our waitress was at our table to greet us really quickly and patiently answered my questions about the beer menu. The group decided on a sample of one particular beer. I’ve had it in the past, but the rest of the group hadn’t. Ultimately, that’s what I decided on having, but, unsurprisingly the rest of my group wasn’t a fan (they are not beer drinkers).
I decided on the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, with added jalapenos. Great flavors in this and it’s a lot of food. The rest of the group raved about their burgers, which were also a lot of food.
Total for dinner and a drink came out to about $ 20 — not bad! Definitely a place I’d stop in again next time I’m in Chico.

We had the worst customer service I’ve ever had. The girl serving us seemed really annoyed as soon as we sat down. She gave us many restrictions on ordering and was not attentive.
It was so small inside that we were basically sharing our table with other people.
Our food was ok. Not the best. Go to to the bear, big chico burger, or anywhere else really.

They have a very odd business model. They have an awesome selection of beer, yet they pretend they are a fancy restaurant with Hostesses outside stopping you as you walk in. I mentioned that I had some folks from a group stopping by for an informal getogether.
You know the kind where you get together for a beer, an appetizer and maybe even a burger after work. Immediately she said that everything had to be on ONE Check and on the max of 2 credit cards. Excuse me? (Yeah I have no problem with single check when it is formal, I even have had 30 plus parties at other restaurants and gladly pay big bucks for linen service/​single check when one sits formally down).
I can not control who pays and what people have… Isn’t that your Wait People’s job? This is a beer bar! I thought this place had a «Happy Hour».
Quite a few people did show up, some people stayed for one beer, others for a full meal. Some mingled over the couple bar tables/​counter, others just sat at single table while there. One small group the people were forced by the staff to pay on one tab. These people had never met each other! Hello? Where is the customer service?
This is NOT a 5 star restaurant with linens! It is an open BAR room setting! To add to the ambieance, the room was extremely loud. We could barely hear each other.
Out of the 15 – 20 folks, we dumped at least a couple hundred dollars… but do you know what? I will NEVER have another get together here! Besides the HAPPY was completely taken out of HAPPY HOUR with your policies.
What a shame as I would go here for your beer selection but you know what you are just a fancy noisy bar where you are forced to sit it out for the FULL check. How does one do this when you want just one beer and others dinner?
