I love Chico Theater Company! I’ve been to many performances here and I can tell you they really put on a great show. I’ve seen Fiddler, Grease, and the Wizard of Oz, to name a few and every time the local cast really seems to put their hearts into it. It’s a family oriented theater, so it’s good clean fun for all ages. If you’re in the mood for a really good time or need a great idea for a date night, give them a shot. You’ll be glad you did!

What a great theater. Went and saw a great show. The cast was wonderful. If you want a great place to go on a Friday or Saturday night and its not downtown make sure you stop by. The prices are reasonable and always a great show.

I saw Young Frankenstein at the Chico Theater Company last Friday night when visiting my sister, and if you have the chance you MUST go see this production before it closes on Nov 10th! I’d never seen this show before and CTC did an amazing job executing the production. While they didn’t seem to have very much space or many resources to work with, the set was interesting and creative. While the performance I saw had a few technical mistakes, it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the production. The main cast was OUTSTANDING — especially Igor! I thought the cast did a great job selling all of the sex jokes inserted by Brooks and occasionally toned it down a little bit for a more PG-13 audience. If you like Mel Brooks movies, this show is for you. Also — please support this company! I wasn’t expecting much when I first sat down, but they did a great job and I can’t wait to see another performance here!

I am a season ticket holder, so clearly I enjoy coming here. The atmosphere is great, the actual theatre/stage area/seating area is great, and I love that they sell concessions. As for the shows – they’re pretty good. I have seen some great ones here and some ones that were kind of «eh». With the loss of Chico Cabaret in the community, the CTC has become my go-to place for live theater, so I guess I tend to measure all of their shows up against the absolute genius I am used to from Cabaret. I loved seeing the«school» version of Les Miz here a few years ago, even though everyone in the cast had braces it was a very heart filled production. I have seen dozens of other pretty good shows, too. The worst show I ever saw here was Clue: The Musical(what a load of junk that was – still wish I could get a refund…). Hopefully the 2013 season is amazing because they have some great stuff lined up.

I watched Carousel this past weekend and I thought they did a really good job! I’ve seen several live plays, and this, I would say, was above average. The theater is off of Eaton, which is partly why I only gave it four stars because there is nothing really near the theater except a gas station. There was plenty of parking though which was nice. The theater and entrance are nice though. Plenty of room to hang out during the intermission including fun decorations and places to sit. They stage sits up off the ground which is a lot better than when the stage is on the ground and the seating looks down onto the stage, in my opinion. The acting was good in Carousel and they had some singing too. One woman in particular really did a great job singing and I was moved. The props were not cheap looking but not overboard either. Everyone remained in character throughout and I felt they gave it their best. I totally recommend Chico Theater Company for any future theater productions.
