Dog too bomb tbh. I’ve passed by Crazy Dog for two years and finally decided to give it a try. The dogs are yummy and simple, for a good price and the toppings are self-serve. BMU/Butte Station is way overpriced so this place is definitely my new go-to for when I’m in a pinch on campus! Before it was a granola bar from the vending machine… the guy was so nice too, offering cheese or bacon to add to my dog. All in all, good food + good price + pleasant service = something I enjoyed and will return to in the future.

I passed the cart everyday on my way to class and it always made my mouth water. Best hot dogs in town. And the price made it a staple lunch in my college days. It’s been 2 years since I finish school and moved from Chico and still find myself craving these hot dogs… Often. I’m going to have to make the 2 hour trip to Chico to get one one of these days.

5 star hot dogs. Cooked perfectly! There is ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, mayo, and my favorite Sierra Nevada mustards! Along with fresh yum tomatoes diced up, onion, relish and jalapeños to top it off. Worth the price and at a convenient location as well. Will be a regular.

Love this stand. If your hungry and left your wallet home by accident, they go by the honor system, they will let you pay later… If your hungry, he wants to feed you.

The BMU is waaaaaay overpriced and I don’t have enough time to actually get into downtown AND compete with other people for food. This guy is perfect for those of us who spend most of our time in and around Langdon and O’Connell. Prices are very reasonable, selection is good, and the man at the cart is very friendly. I just wish I had bothered to start buying from Crazy Dog when I first started at CSUC.

I’ve had Crazy dog’s since I was a student here. I usually got the normal crazy dog but sometimes I would be in a crazy mood and go for the double dog. He cuts up fresh tomatoes to put on the dogs and they are excellent. There was a reason the school wanted to persuade the city to evict him, his business is off the charts. This is why food in Chico is excellent.

I’ve only eaten there once, which is odd considering the amount of times I walk by his stand(and most of the time I’m hungry). I’m usually short on time between classes, and he’s usually got a line of people waiting. But I’m a fan none-the-less. His enthusiasm and dedication sells it for me. Honest, hard working guy with some tasty dogs.

Greatest Hot dog stand ever. Especially for the price! Who else could come with the idea of having a hotdog with chili AND Fritos on top of it!!! plus all of the normal condiments for no extra charge!

Talk about a hard working dude! I remember when Chico State wanted to evict this guy from the property, and there was a big community uproar. This guy has good eats for a good price. He is out there rain or shine, and always is pleasant to be around.

I LOVE Crazy Dog. This is the best place to eat near CSU Chico’s sprawling campus. I know ther are many little places to grab a bite ON campus and Downtown is just a stone’s throw away but this place is IT. The owner is such a nice guy, not to mention he wears these AWESOME costumes. He is also quick and efficient in gettin that Dog to you before you get to class. I have tried the veggie dog, the cajun and the Polish(my fave) and they are all great. In fact, I ate there today. When people saw my lunch they were a) jealous and b) full of stories of their own about John’s crazy costumes and his delish Dogs. GO, GORIGHTNOWANDEAT A CRAZYDOG!!!

Being a full time student, I hardly ever find a chance to eat, and even less of a chance on campus with over priced and sometimes questionable food. But this particular stand has provided me with delicious, fresh, and always top quality food and service. The owner is polite, fast, gracious and above all, patient. He even accepts cards when one is short on cash. The Crazy Dog Hot Dog stand is honestly the best hot dog stand I’ve ever been to and I highly suggest that if you want good food, fast service and someone to brighten your day with«casual Friday» costumes, go to Crazy Dog Hot Dogs! :)

My favorite place to grab a bite on campus, period. Double-dog with cheese and sauerkraut is my standard, but the specials are always awesome too. Cheap, fast, always hits the spot, and ATM is accepted when you are short on cash.

I’m pretty sure Ivy and Warner are the same street so let’s just say it’s at the corner of West 1st and Ivy/Warner. Anyhow, dudes and dudettes, you best not leave Chico without stopping at this little hot dog stand and getting yourself a Crazy Dog combo of some sort. The location is perfect and here’s what you do: 1. get your dog 2. slather on the toppings 3. See that brick wall beside the library? Take a seat, people watch, and try not to let it drip all over your clothes. They’re thick and juicy – your mouth will thank me… or hate me because you won’t be able to pass that stand without thinking, «Hmm… a crazy dog sounds like a good idea at 10 A. M… and again at 11A. M… maybe 12P.M., too?»

Best Hot dog in Chico, and best meal deal in town. John is not only a great cook, but you can count on him to be on campus when the wind is blowing or the rain is pouring. And he always greets me with a smile.

First of all, Crazy Dog is located at the corner of West 1st Street and Ivy, not West 1st Ave and Warner. Also, his hours are 7am to 2pm. But annyyyyway… In the epic battle of Crazy Dog vs Hungry Hound, i have to give the nod to Hungry Hound… but that doesnt mean Crazy Dog doesnt deserve respect and your dollar. John Geiger is out there with his cart every day, and is quick to get your dog together, quick with a smile, and quick with the change. His spot is pretty primo, and he gets slammed sometimes with customers. Im not sure what type of dogs he uses, but the elcheapo Crazy Dog is probably the best choice. Its a dog on a hoagie, just what you want/expect when you walk up. Skip the cheese, btw. Not worth it. There are three things that Crazy Dog has over Hungry Hound on the other side of campus: Better BBQ sauce, closer location to the parking, and the buns. He steams his hoagies before they get a dog, and it makes them softer and delicious. However, I think Hungry Hound’s Miller dogs are tastier. Look at me, writing a serious review for Crazy Dog. Its fuckin’ Crazy Dog! Youve probably walked by it every day, and maybe youve been thumbing your nose at it. Dont. Hot dogs are tasty, they are cheap, and they are perfect for a between class meal(even cart dogs will stay within your calorie regimen). So stop at one of the stands and enjoy some American street food.
