Native Eats’ cart was part of the Pack H20 Unilocal event at Human Form. So — they’ve moved out to California? Boo! Bön voyage… Although the spouse is no fan of beets, I loved the beet hummus! Not overly sweet, the beet texture worked well as a hummus. The spouse WAS a fan of the smoky pot roast, though, very well done, and tender. My veggie burger was tasty and hit the spot. They’re going to do well out in Cali. Good luck to them!

This new food truck/cart, whatever you want to call it, really amazed me yesterday when I finally got to try it, and the funny thing is, an article on Alyssa Block, the owner, came out the same afternoon. It was a great read, and it gave a lot more insight into the concept. Native Eats offers up Southwestern dishes with locally sourced ingredients, and it was absolutely delicious. The guy working suggested the Barbacoa Breakfast Torta, so my buddy and I both went with that. The sandwich doesn’t look very big, but it definitely has some mass to it. I’m not sure what type of roll it was, but between that, the juicy beef, the fried egg, and the tomatillo salsa, I may have found one of my new favorite sandwiches. It was a bit messy with the egg running everywhere, but those are the best kinds of meals for me, and I was surprisingly full afterward. Everything looked so good on the menu that it was hard to decide, so I’ll definitely be back for the other dishes, especially since they’re regularly at Seventh Son. The guys working were pretty cool(one seemed like he was hurtin’ from the night before) and helpful. I expect this cart to do well as the name gets out there. P. S. Make the pickle sign bigger! I would have grabbed one if I’d noticed it on the sign earlier.
