Who ever gave them 5 stars was drunk as hell coming out of rileys. Honestly only good when you are trying to sober up.

I had always heard about tacos Mary’s but had never been until recently, my boyfriend has this monster sized chimichanga served with rice & beans that he basically drooled over how good it looked for five minutes before even digging in, at which point he did one of those mouth full of food«oh my god this is so good» things that often happens when something is so delicious you can’t even finish your first bite before needing to say so. I did the same thing over my charbroiled beef tacos, they were so tender, flavorful & well portioned. People usually like this spot for after a night out drinking but ever since the first time we tried them, we go at anytime we’re craving some delicious Mexican food. Their salsa is also super flavorful & spicy. The place is small but what they lack in size they make up for in flavor & Mary is just the sweetest woman in the entire world & her cook is also very friendly. I definitely would suggest eating here to anyone and everyone.

Good whether you’re drunk or sober. The nachos are super good, and prices are fair. I prefer the carne asada, but chicken is always good! Workers are always very friendly

BEST. VEGGIE. BURRITO. EVER. Mary’s food not only was delicious and inexpensive, the burrito made me full for a couple of days. Good ambiance, excellent service. Good job, Mary!

Best and biggest burritos! Love that they are open late and it reminds me of good SoCal Mexican food !

For 3 veggie tacos, it is not friendly on the wallet, and it doesn’t taste exceptional. It is also in a sketchy location, near Riley’s and the interior plus exterior hardly looks like it was well kept besides sweeping the floor. They take a while to make their food and I question their sanitation. They are very nice when you enter and I heard that their burritos are not bad and are huge. I shall give their burritos a try and update this review when I’m in the mood for burritos in the future. I will also bring cash, they charge for using debit/credit cards.

OMG. How many time have I driven or rode my bike past this place and not eaten there. Just had one of the best tacos ever. Vegetarian supreme. Had potatoes, carrots, beans, rice and something else. Actually got two and didn’t think I could finish but was so yummy, I just kept right on eating. My new favorite taco place. My sew lady said her husband favors the chile verde burrito. Feeds two.

Yes, this is a hole-in-the-wall. Yes, it’s authentic Mexican food. You must know, though, that the greater the«hole,» the better the food! Addicted since it was«Tacos de Acapulco» over 10 years ago! I dream of their burritos when I’m out of town. No public restroom. I wouldn’t even know where to find the closest public restroom, especially where kids can go. Parking is really bad. Recommend find a side street and walk a short distance. Right across the street from a bar. Not very good street lighting in my college days, but they have supposedly installed some lights around Ivy. There are a lot of frat/sorority houses around there, so beware of drunk and long college kids/transients/or strange folk at night. Go for lunch! Lol

Just get inside me! Amazing drunk food, hang over food, every effing day food! California burrito sounds weird with its french fries and strange ways of living but come into the light my friends because it is so good! I would never go there for a sit down meal but it’s perfect for to go order and open till 3am most days

Over 8 dollars for a greasy burrito with sub-par quality ingredients. 50-cent extra charge if you use any debit/credit card. Not a great deal if you ask me. Definitely recommend getting Mexican somewhere else.

I love this place, the chicken Colorado is so good, nothing compares. The staff they genuine, I recommend this place. I asked about the name change… they said the previous name turned franchise, so they renamed. Same cooks.

Taco’s Mary how I have missed you. There are only a handful of decent Mexican spots in Chico, this being one of them. Open late and directly across from Riley’s Bar, this small spot can get pretty crowded at night. Yes the nachos are piled high and delicious. Yes some people swear by the vegetarian burrito. And yes I’ve been here more times than I can count… But all you need to order is the «taquito burrito». The greatest, most satisfying burrito in Chico. With four large chicken taquitos deep fried to a golden crisp, wrapped inside a soft burrito. Filled with beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and tomatoes(usually get without tomatoes) this is one hell of a meal. Biting into this creation and finding a crunchy flakey center is heavenly. My only advice, make sure they add rice. If not you may find your burrito a little soggy towards the end. Best of luck to you

This was my go to spot to get Mexican food in Chico. It’s definitely a hole in the wall and needs some tlc and serious fixing up but I don’t care. The only issue I’ve ever encountered is a slight language barrier on occasion but I always end up leaving with what I want. It changed names awhile back but is still owned by the same people. I highly recommend the Cali burrito with pork. I have dreams about it and want it in my belly right now. The portion is huge and leftovers are still delicious the next day. Word of caution — you MUST keep the ticket slip they give you or you’re out of luck.(Kind of a bummer if you’re like me and misplace things). Some people don’t really know how to order here– so after you pay, give your ticket to the person cooking and specify what you want on your burrito/taco/etc. This is a late night drunk hangout so be prepared for an insane line if you’re there past eleven p.m.

Very awesome food ! Friendly service it is great for late night place to eat and is always. Open tacosmary is the place to be! I come here all the time when I am out partying and sometimes look more forawd to their burritos more than the actual party

If it’s late, you’re hammered, and nowhere else is open, then this is the absolute best place in Chico! Anything on the menu will fill your late night drunchie craving and help ease that next day hangover, however if there’s any leftovers after your late night feasting immediately discard them, you definitely do not want to see what you were eating the next day. And under absolutely no circumstance should you enter this establishment sober, it will forever ruin it for you, because once sober eyes see how disgusting this«restaurant» is no amount of alcohol can convince you to return.

Best tasting and biggest puerco verde burrito I’ve had in my life. Best in Chico by far. The texture and flavor are perfection. Enjoyed best after 3 – 4 beers with some sort of THC recently absorbed. Make sure to pour yourself a glass of water before bed for that 5am cat tongue.

I didn’t know they changed the name from Tacos De Acapulco to Tacos Mary. Amongst college students and local it was known and called«Tacos De». It probably still is. I used to eat here a lot during my college years. This small restaurant is open until 2am or 3am on weekends and gets crowded with drunk college students wanting to feed the beast. The line get pretty long, but it’s well worth the wait. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Chico. Everything on the menu is fair priced and the portions big. The most popular is their burrito/super burritos. Them bad boys is HUGE! Salsas, jalapeños, and other condiments are next to the soft drink machine. I always ordered to go. For some reason the burritos always gave the bubble guts to the white folks lol. I think it was because of the refried bean or salsa, or a combination of both lol. Some people just can’t handle it. I never had any problems.
