My husband and I are pretty geeky. That being said we were on the market for a wedding photographer that understood not only where we were coming from but who had a keen eye for capturing all the nerdy details we had planned for our special day.
Enter Seth.
I knew after our first meeting that I wanted to work with Seth. He is warm, easy going, incredibly professional and responsive, fun, and amazing at what he does. Seth caught so many amazing and candid moments on our wedding day and the pictures truly tell the story of the day. Honestly, I think he must be part ninja because he got so many amazing shots and I barely noticed him at all. He even did our getting ready shots and somehow managed to fade into the background while secretly documenting everything.
All of our friends and family love the pictures just as much as we do and I am so very thankful that we choose Seth. He is the best at catching the narrative of your day and so easy going that you know you you are in good hands.
Your wedding day photos are one of the most important things about your wedding. And Seth is the best. I can’t say enough about him and his quality of work. I can tell you that you should book him.

In September 2011, I was the Maid of Honor in the wedding of one of my dearest childhood friends. Months earlier, I remember her telling me how she had met this photographer up in Chicopee, MA, in May, and he was just amazing! «Go look at his web site!» I looked. I was instantly enamoured. As someone with a passion for photography, as someone that considers it a true hobby, I appreciated his journalistic style of photography. Sure, everyone wants posed photos of their special day, but I loved seeing photos of groomsmen sitting on couches, sending text messages before walking down the aisle. I enjoyed seeing photos of brides getting their hair done at the salon. I enjoyed seeing photos of family members sharing special, initmate hugs when no one else was around. He captured those true and honest moments most people do not get to see. Based on what I viewed, the excitement of knowing I’d be photographed by him was exciting!
The year of 2011 was the year I was in three weddings back to back. August, September, and October. (Call me a professional!) Thinking back to my August and October weddings, I saw the photographers in plain view throughout the entire day, pre-​wedding, during, and post-​wedding. I was hyper-​aware of them, as a matter of fact. I could not dance during the receptions without thinking to myself, «He’s on my right! He needs to my on my left. That’s by better side. Is my stomach poking out? SUCK IT IN!» Seth? Except for the obligatory posed shots, I virtually did not notice him there. He blended in with the crowd, invisibly documenting one precious moment after another.
I recently saw the photos. I gasped. I sighed. I laughed. I got a bit verklempt. The posed photos were perfection. The photojournalistic «candids» were superb. Me drinking Starbucks pre-​wedding and me cartwheeling down the hill at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT in my big blue dress and silver high heels has been forever immortalized. Most importantly, the moments of my friends Leann and Larry starting their life together as a married couple were captured in such undeniable beauty.
If a photo is worth a thousand words, Seth «wrote» a verbose 300,000 word grand saga about this wedding.
Also, a well-​deserved shout out to Lesley Arak, his assistant for the day. She’s got that special something as well. In tandem, this is a team to be reckoned with.

My wife and I had a friend lined up to photograph our wedding, but she canceled 6 months before (we hired her 1.5 yrs before). In a panic we searched for photogs, fearing we wouldn’t find one available due to the popular date of our wedding (10÷10÷10). Luckily we found SETH KAYE PHOTOGRAPHY in western MA.
Seth has a photojournalist background, so his style is more about documenting the day then posing people like puppets and making them smile unnaturally. He cares about the story of the day, which was exactly what we wanted.
He and his partner photog were friendly/​personable, put us at ease (particularly me), and blended in. Talking about him afterward, our Maid of Honor said — «There was a photographer? I never saw him.» That’s how stealth he was.
My wife and I had heard horror stories about couples having trouble with their photogs AFTER the wedding in terms of paying extra to get photo copyrights. My groomsman’s photog at his own wedding practically held the pics for ransom. Not Seth. His prices are affordable, he’s not greedy, and copyrights were never an issue.
I swear he’s not paying me to sing his praises, but oftentimes we («we» meaning people in general) are more eager to complain about bad service as opposed to praising good service (hence why it’s taken me so long to write this — I was too busy complaining about our low-​quality DJ). Seth loves his job and it shows.
