This was my husband’s «local» when he lived in Chillicothe. The elegant carved wooden bar sets a wonderful tone, and their beer selection has improved in the 20 or so years since the husband lived here. The real treat here is the free live Dixieland jazz by the Goosetown Astonishers every Thursday night — something that has remained blissfully unchanged in decades.

Ruben sandwich was good. Onion rings were just alright. Service was friendly.

We stopped in here while we were looking for something to do in town and this was an adorable little bar. It is hard to spot. The town is old and small, so you really have to look for this place. The giant, antique wooden doors are the best giveaway. Inside is a little dark. It is very down home, with mismatched tables and a really beautiful antique bar. The bartender said the bar actually came from the old train station and it really adds to the look. The place is very low key and bottles of Miller Light were 2.25. This is the kind of place where the bartender actually drinks, you can hear your friends talking, and you can relax a bit. From what we understand, they just added a menu, so enjoy after 530 when the kitchen opens. There were only a few items listed but tequila infused caramel corn was on the menu so I would have high hopes for the rest.
