I was always worried I had to fly to Japan to get my pastries/bread fix for the rest of my life. Then I found 85 Café. I no longer have to go to Japan to get delicious breads/pastries, instead I can get Taiwanese bread/pastries(which is extremely similar) right in California. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 1. PREMIUMMILKROLL: I knew this was a Japanese style bread. There bread is moist, soft and fluffy and has a soft cream filling that you will instantly fall in love with. I bought 5 of these, but that turned out not to be enough. I can’t get enough of them!!! 2. Taiwanese Boroh: Get the one with cream in it. Both were good, but when there’s a cream option, why wouldn’t you go for that one? 3. Mango Bread: I tried 10 or so different rolls, mango bread was the only one I was not a fan of. It tasted too much like a pastry I’ve gotten at a local bakery, nothing special. Not worth the calories. The mango slush was extremely sweet and nothing special. Stick to the breads!

I love their bread, sea salt coffee, and cake. I am a regular customer since this place opened. I don’t usually write review that much but I had to today. I was in long line with my son and he picked macaron. As soon as I paid, my son grabbed macaron box and opened it. And guess what? All the macaroon fell on the floor.(Yes. My son is 6 years old and not very careful). My son almost about to cry. Sigh. I picked up all macaron and put in box and asked Lucy(? Not sure) if she could threw them in the trash. She smiled and went back for 10 seconds and gave me another box of macaron. She even showed my son how to open easily without spilling. I was so impressed and happy because 1) I did not even ask if she can give new one. 2) it happened during their busiest time with 20 people standing behind. Thank you so much, You really made my & my son’s day!!!

The bread here is amazing, made fresh every day. Besides the bread they have drinks and desserts. I haven’t tried the desserts myself, but the drinks(that I have tried) are pretty good. The service is is always fast and friendly.

I love to come here having a green tea and grab some chees bite! But they need to train their staff more professionally! Here is my yesterday experience with them: I ordered a large green tea as usual, one of the employees charged me $ 3 dollars which I told him your menu showing is $ 2.75. He told me… oh ! we have raised the price recently. If this is the case, shouldn’t they change the menu? But this is not the case! Because when I received my drink, the content sticker on the drink was showing sea salt green tea which worth 3 dollars. However, it was not I ordered even thought I got what I want– — a plain gren tea(because the guy took my order also made my drink). Please at least be honest with your own mistake. Don’t lie about price increase!!!

bakery = excellent… Bolba = no so excellent Ask to sample the bolba before you are down the street in your car with your drink in hand. Many times it tastes burnt from this location. They cannot seem to get the Bolba right. Good luck and enjoy!

Good drinks, good pastries, good cakes. This is a Taiwanese bakery chain moved to California. It’s so good here it’s as if an 85 was airlifted from Taiwan. Depending on the location though, drinks can take a LONG time to make. Good thing about 85 being so busy is that all the pastries, drink ingredients, and cakes are made that day. I’ve never had a problem with picking up a cake of whatever flavor I want that day bc they make them in house daily. Cakes are also quite good, and have that Taiwanese style of icing(light, super fluffy, and not overly sweet). cakes are a great value for only $ 29.

The concept of these bakeries reminds me of the Mexican grocery stores that have the carts of baked goods and trays; they have display cases filled with different baked goods, lined with tags of descriptions. You pick up a tray at the entrance and place whatever baked goods you want on your tray; then you take it to the counter and they’ll ring you up. The only downside of this are those people who second-guess themselves; they take a croissant, only to realize they don’t want it and put it back. EW. Other than that, it’s delicious! And the portions are pretty big as well; I had to split with a friend. I got the milky bun=a soft bun filled with sweet cream, a chocolate croissant, and… something else delicious I can’t remember. Alsoooo, pretty friendly on price!

Stop what you are doing right now and head over to any 85℃ bakery in your vicinity! I drove by this place so many times not knowing what all the hoopla was about. That was until curiosity got the best of me and I walked in to see for myself. It’s like a panaderia on steroids but with milk teas and coffees. Believe me you need to prep before you come here because of the sugar/carb overload. It is amazing. It’s my new little slice of heaven in chino hills. Try the taro bread, mocha bread, and any milk breads. All new stuff to me. I like taking stuff for friends at work and filling up a tray just for me. The milk teas are great too. The staff is friendly and helpful. I always have to battle with my inner carb demons when I pass this place. Happy eating!

Oh mango brûlée cake… Where have you been… I love this bakery. Their cake is so good and made with love! They decorate the cakes and make people like me buy them often. Wish they had one in NYC! Oh and they’ll write ridiculous notes on your cake for you if you ask! I love the friendly staff and how clean this place is. It’s a very cute place to be at if you wanna take your date or your children here. It’s a typical bakery but 100% more cuter!
