Great food. The orange chicken is not just bread with a little chicken. It’s chicken with the right amount of breading. Everything tastes fresh, not frozen and then warmed up. I also appreciate the family vibe. You can tell there is passion behind the food. I highly recommend this place

I love Shi-Foo! The food is always consistent and delicious. Their orange chicken is super flavorful, and not chewy or dry like so many other places. I Thai tea is just the icing on the cake, it’s so good! One of the main reasons we keep coming back is the management and workers. Everyone is super awesome, and always serve up the good with a smile.

First time I feel a Chinese food establishment deserves 5 stars. Let’s start with the Service it’s top notch. They make sure you get fresh warm food. The Orange chicken was enough for my to go order yet he insisted I waited for some fresh chicken. Taste was great not fatty chicken, but really good white meat. The house chow mein is made to order great also huge shrimp lots of chicken… Meat was ok. The garlic shrimp was a big serving for the price. Overall the quality of food justifies the price you pay. I think it’s even cheaper than Panda Express which doesn’t even come close. Give it a try if in the area.

Purchased 2 orders of fish with Thai Chilli sauce but one of the two, the portion is so small… usually ordered but was never this little. I hope Shi Foo will improve their quality control. Very disappointed.

Great service. Great food. No post-msg headaches. What more can a girl ask for?! ;) Thai tea, brewed, not powdered formula and they add a homemade creamer to it. You can adjust the level according to your taste, it’s not premixed, which I appreciate. Food is freshly made and wok cooked. Authentic Chinese food but in a fast food convenient way. Panda, you’re still cute but you have been replaced. :) The biggest difference is that when they load your plate, they don’t have the shakes. What are the shakes you ask? Well, if you ever go to a Panda Express, you’ll notice their staff always have the shakes. They scoop up your food and shake-shake-shake-shake-shake-shake-shake all the way to your plate, leaving you with a tiny mound of orange chicken that even the pizza-carrying-rat in New York would scoff at. At Shi Foo, they seriously LOAD your food container until it’s overflowing with food. It works so well for me because I can have it for dinner and save the leftovers for my lunch the next day. Still yummers! Musts are Orange Chicken & Sesame chicken. Try biting them in half, you can actually see CHUNKS of chicken in your food! Not just a bunch of batter! And they are more than happy to let you try anything you are unsure of, so gift it a go! No risk no foul. If you aren’t as rushed, order the from the Cook to Order menu. You won’t regret it! Crispy noodles!!! :)

Tried this place for the first time and ordered the crunchy noodle, beef and broccoli with the house gravy. Which they make for you fresh. You can tell it is fresh when you eat the beef and very flavorful. They also have the traditional Chinese food which we all know which I heard is good. Definitely need to try the orange chicken next time.

Came here because of the great reviews I saw on Unilocal and they definitely met my expectations! The food tasted good and fresh. The price was good too with generous portions. The best thing about this place is its service. I usually take a while to decide what I want but the worker was patiently waiting for me and asking me if I needed help. I will be back!

3.5 Star establishment. I loved the friendliness here and the food was pretty good for a lunchbox Panda Express-like atmosphere. The Mushroom Chicken had a lot of onions but was delicious, as was the Orange Chicken, which were massive chunks of chicken that wasn’t overly fried. I liked the noodles more than the fried rice and egg roll were a miss. Pretty good for Chinese takeout but definitely not the quality you’d see at a restaurant that makes it fresh. They do, however, have food cooked to order and that seems popular. No complaints here!

Fresh-tasting. Doesnt take like food had been sitting at the counter all day. Friendly service. Owner(s) and family seem really appreciative of customers. Good vibes. Keep it up!

4 star to the food and 5 star to the service. They probably forgot my order and I waited for more than 20min but I am here giving them 5 star. Enough said.

Amazing!!! The house special chow mien was incredible. We had the Mongolian sauce and the flavor was all through the meat(beef, chicken and shrimp). I could live on this dish alone. We also had the orange chicken, the pieces of meat were huge, flavor was great and the meat was tender and juicy. The honey walnut shrimp was crazy good… The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We met the owner, very nice man. They also have a location in the shopping center near central and Philadelphia which is closer to me. I hate to say it but I’m probably not ever going back to the Chinese restaurant I’ve been going to faithfully for almost twenty years. This is my new go to place…

It sucks to only get 5 pieces of orange chicken in a bowl that filled 90% with rice. The chicken fits into the empty space created by the lid. that kinda sucked for my lady. The orange chicken is okay, and the chow mein is the same at best. I was desperate and took a shot, it’s not terrible but the rating threw me off.

Shi-Foo reminds you of Panda Express when you walk in. You go in, see the different foods, and you’re like how is this better than Panda? Well here are the reasons: 1) The food you see there doesn’t look good or looks like it’s been left out for a while? No worries, wait a while– you can order food made to order, so you can have it hot and fresh 2) «healthier” — there’s a sign next to the food that says they don’t use GMOs 3)Cash discount, you save 5%. They don’t mention this so you gotta check yo Unilocal before you go there! I got the 2 item combo($ 6.50), with noodles(meh, not a fan. It just doesn’t click for me). The Orange Chicken(haha ofc) is crunchy and made well, and they do have chicken in there– big pieces and you can see the white meat when you bite in between. YUM. Sauce is made tangy, so yay. Mushroom chicken– they gave me a lot of mushroom(yay) but I guess I got bored of eating all the chicken haha– should have gotten beef & brocolli(maybe next time). It could be a façade but this one tastes healthier as well. They have a couple of tables there for you to sit at, and they have a second location opening on Central(Shi Foo #2) in Chino if you are closer to there. They will give you samples without scowls, so feel free to ask! They only have 8 things out, but you can ask what other entrees they have(some at a higher cost, ofc). They also do party trays and have other options you can do as well(: PS don’t expect authentic chinese food here– it’s not why they have 4.5 stars rating(as of 8⁄2015). It’s because the fast food version is good :)

I discovered this place when my family wanted Chinese food for dinner and I didn’t feel like driving to the opposite side of Chino Hills. The walnut shrimp, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken, brown rice and Thai iced tea are super delicious! I also ordered Kung Pao tofu, chicken with green beans, and egg rolls. The quart of brown rice and a pint of noodles were free because of all the entrees I ordered. The owner is very nice and gave me a 5% discount for paying cash. There are many running clubs in the area and the people that live in my neighborhood are very active/fit/healthy. He told me all the meat is thoroughly trimmed and you can always ask for less oil. He offered me tons of other things that are not on the menu as well. All the food I got was made to order but there are entrees that already made on the steam table. The teriyaki chicken looks really good. I would order that with brown rice and a Thai iced tea next time: P

I regret not ordering the food made-to-order, like the reviews mentioned. This place is pretty close to my house and it’s very convenient. The style is like Panda Express, where they just scoop up your entrée into a container for you. They also give you those stereotypical Chinese food take-out paper boxes, if you’re into that kinda thing(true authenticity). Now I mentioned regret, it’s because the orange chicken everyone raves about, it was definitely not a new batch. For the orange chicken, the breaded part was ruined by the sauce. It had a soggy exterior and I felt sickly as I ate it because of the orange overload. So the sauce overpowered the breaded part, but the chicken inside was delicious. Well-balanced and juicy. I dunno what all the rave was about, though, my experiences in Panda Express were similar. Maybe it’s because this chicken tasted healthier. I really wasn’t in love with this. I also had the Honey Walnut Shrimp. Now, they didn’t give a lot of shrimp and it had a 10-minute wait(made to order). ALSO, The shrimp dishes are priced differently($ 10 a dish), so I had high hopes with these constraints. Oh, AND, they lied! They didn’t give us walnuts, they gave pecans!(Good thing I love pecans). So, the shrimp was covered in delicious sauce(Honey walnut sauce?) and it had a bit of a crunch with every bite, which gave the dish some depth. It comes on a small bed of cabbage, so eating everything, this dish has a good balance. I’d recommend trying it even if the order seemed small. The ambiance of a place is really like a Chino Hills eatery. Just a casual, quaint restaurant in a small plaza. The staff is also very friendly.

I got the combo 2($ 5.95) with cream cheese wonton($ 1.95) and drink($ 1). I got half fried rice and chow mein with orange chicken and teriyaki chicken with sauce on the side. It was ok though I wouldn’t get the chow mein again. The place is clean and they take card.

The reviews are awesome for this place, so I decided to give it a try. Let me start with the customer service at the front counter is outstanding. Now to the food, at first glance it set up for the most part like a Panda Express of Pick up Sticks. I’m not really down with heat lamp food so I noticed on their digital menu board that they do food to order. Bingo, I’ll pay a little extra and get something fresh as opposed to food that’s been sitting out for who knows how long. I got the chicken, with Mongolian sauce. It was pretty good but you better like onions because the dish was half onions. I’m cool with onions so I enjoyed my meal. I also tried the Thai Tea with Bo Ba, as other Unilocalers were raving about it. The tea was good enough. So what’s the bottom line? We’ll my meal was better than most fast food order at the counter Chinese restaurants. The Thai Tea is good if you’re into that thing. The meal was reasonable prices. The staff was friendly and helpful. For the price this is 3.75 star eats rounded up to 4 for this review. I’d come back but I don’t plan to hurry back.
