Ceviche is fresher and tastier than North Gate’s. I prefer to make my own, but this would be the next closest to home made. They also have a mix chorizo that’s perfect for Paella. Fresh produce and good meat as well.

Best place by far to get your Carne Asada! It’s a small little market but has everything you need for your get together. I live pretty far from here but i will travel the distance because the meat here is the greatest. Very tender and tastes great.

HORRIBLE carne asada! Don’t waste your money on FAT. Bought 7lbs and most was FAT. Meat was barely marinated with a smokey taste to it. Not going back for $ 4.69lb.

This place has been around forever! Since I was little. Used to be a 7 – 11 and if I remember correctly a library too. Great place for meats and produce. Everything else is pretty pricy. The staff is super freindly! Would recommend this place if u want some good carne asada or chicken and such.

It’s a nice little market with fresh vegetables and meat. The eggs are also cheap but the price on everything else is a bit high. I pretty much stick to the meats and vegetables only. There is a minimum $ 5 if you’re planning to use your card. I don’t mind them speaking Spanish to me and realizing quickly that I don’t speak their language and they speak English after but, I did have a rude experience last night(around 6PM) when the cashier tried to catch my attention to get in front of the line because some kids were buying stuff with a ton of coins and I had no idea what she was saying. Out of respect, I think she could have said something in English if she knew I wasn’t complying. Granted I look Hispanic and the origin of the Market is Mexican but, not everyone speaks Spanish. I’m giving this a 4 star because I do like their vegetables and meats but I did not like what that cashier did to me last night. Sorry.

The true corner store Back in elementary school, I had a Mexican-American friend who lived down the street from this little market near Our Lady of Guadalupe. His parents always referred to it as «the corner store.» They would buy various Mexican products and food that it carried because the major grocery stores did not. I have not been to that part of town in 15 years, but I am glad to know that the market is still in business and doing well.

Local mexican american store that has lots of items you cannot find at other grocery stores. Meats are delicious and priced well. Non american foods are cheaper here but if you go there to purchase american foods such as cereal or beer u will def pay more. Great store and nice people.

The best marinated carne asada for grilling is found here. Once you try it, I can assure you that you will never have tastier carne asada. This is a place of legend in the community in South San Diego.

Best carne asada is THECOUNTRY! Yea, I said it. NOJOKE. Better than all of california and definitely better than new york, florida, texas, and arizona. My mom is a true old fashioned home cookin mexican woman and I told HER about Apple Tree. Now, she wont buy her carne anywhere else. Apple Tree is top choice.

Another favorite market in Chula Vista to pick up everything you need for your fresh salsa’s and Mexican food. They are a small neighborhood market that has a small produce area, a meat counter, and an extensive tortilla area and pan dulce. They also have a small grocery area but like most smaller market the prices aren’t as competitive as the larger chains. But that isn’t why you come here. Most of the time I find all the ingredients I need for my fresh salsa’s that I might not find at Ralphs. Not to mention the better brands of tortillas and cheeses as well as good prices on prepared meats for a carne or pollo asada. So if you’re in the hood, this is a good place to check out.
