Visiting Chula Vista for a few days over the Holidays, I went out in search of some place scenic for morning runs. I came across Bayfront Park, as well as its 2 neighboring waterfront parks. Bayfront Park is a tiny, tiny park that’s big on features. In addition to picnic tables & restrooms, there’s the Chula Vista public boat-launching ramp. To accommodate boating traffic, the parking lot is huge. The parking lot is actually larger than the park itself. Being such a small park, it didn’t take long to run around it. I ended up using Bayfront Park as my turn around point for runs started over at nearby Bayside Park. Bayfront Park is a nice little park for relaxing or putting a boat in the water, but it’s too small for much else.

This bayfront park has a bathroom and boat ramp for launching your kayak with the family. You can enjoy a picnic and a walk around this wonderful park and walk over to the marina as well. There is also a play structure and shaded picnic tables at the park on J Street. Enjoy this family friendly place before it gets developed into some gross copy cat store front and bad restaurants like Seaport Village.
