If I had the choice. I would not even give 1 star!!! So.after picking up my daughter from school, and having one of those MONDAY’S!!! I decided to get fast food but at least something kinda healthy? You can say. lol So I was at the drive through, there’s about 4 cars infront of me. not so bad! I THOUGHT!!! WRONG!!! I don’t know what the f $%# are they cooking in there??? Are they doing it the old way? First they start by picking out the chicken… than actually killing it? It’s ridiculous, 30min waiting to drive up to the window… just to wait 5 more dammm minutes!!! And not even get a ammmm ‘sorry.for the wait’ noooooo… instead she looked at the register. next the bag. looking and moving all items in bag to reassure herself that everything was in it!!! Ohh you might say ‘great, she wants to make sure I get my order right?’ Nooooooo… it’s because the car infront of me was not given the correct order. and she had to separated it from my food… I cannot believe it! After 35min… my frustration was extreme… My daughter was hungry, I was tired… and I just wanted to leave but. yes BUT… I was already waiting on my food and I w asnt about to go somewhere else and wait. again! I learned from it! I won’t be coming to this location anymore!!! Someone needs to train them. in every aspect of what the job description requires from them!!! Omg!!!

ordered the 9 piece mix for like $ 11.99 I think, got home… everybody was excited(I personally love Church’s in San Ysidro), as we are all looking for our favorite pieces, my son comes up with two pieces,…each of which was a half of a BACK! What the Frick is going on here? Since when is the back a saleable chicken part, the back offers no usable amount of meat to eat! Just a bunch of crispy coating and BONES! This place is a ripoff, I WON’T be back anytime soon. I hope the problem is only at this location! ANYWHERE else is better than this place my fried chicken lover friends

Food is pretty good for your fried chicken basics, in my opinion what sets them apart from KFC is their biscuits. It seems like their wait time for drive thru is just ridiculously long. Food is always hot, so I guess that’s a good thing, I just wish the wait time was less.

I am an avid fried chicken fan and I have been wanting to try Church’s chicken since forever. I’ve heard people rave about this place and I was BEYOND excited to try it. I dont understand why Church’s are all down south(Chula Vista area) and there are none in north county :(bummer! The sad thing is… I got sick after I ate it. Ugh! I had the fried okra(meh, was NOT that good), jalapeño poppers(these were good when they were fresh!), and 2 pcs of chicken. I paid for 3pcs and the guy gave me 2. uh yea. Thanks for messing up my order. I asked him for sauce and he was super skimpy with it and was kind of whatever about his job. In regards to the fried chicken, I would actually prefer popeyes over church’s. Popeyes better than Church better than KFC. However I do give them credit for having really interesting side dishes and having honey biscuits(aint no other chicken place got this!) But ultimately, you go to a fried chicken place for the chicken and it wasn’t worth it. I got sick too which just made the whole experience a lot worse. Blech. Thanks for nothing :(

Came here craving chicken. Drove up to the mini drive thru and i sware i thought i was going to run into the freaking sign. This place is old skool. Haha. But i didn’t mind it. The voice in the speaker was pretty clear which is a good thing. There was only 1 car in front of me but looked dead and i was waiting for like a good 10 – 15 mins cuz the battery was running low and i. didn’t wanna turn it off tho. But idk i thought the wait was kinda over exaggerating. I ordered a 10 piece meal with mashed potatos & gravy with sum mac n chzzers. Ohh and some fries for the kids. The cashier was allright. Could of used his manners tho and say thank you a bit more but hey i can’t help miserable people. Buttt took my food home and it was on point. Just wish homeboy gave me some honey with my biscuits luckly i found some savaged up in the cajon. Yayyyy. I will come back here when im not in a rush tho cuz drive thru is NOT quick.

I like their food. Chicken is always fresh, the problem is that the wait is terribly long, even if there are no customers. Why is that? I think it will be a long time before I come back, unless they getter a more efficient staff.

I hate the colonels chicken. I always liked Churches chicken. Usually crispy. Okra only found here. This place has potential. The problem is the staff. But? How do you get great service with poor pay? How do you motivate? Anyway Long wait times, no multi tasking, order wrong, advertise specials then no thats something else when you get to the window. Need a new manager…

OMG, I just want some stupid fried chicken! I don’t know why Eastlake doesn’t have it’s own fried chicken place, and that hard to get to Church’s Chicken near the border doesn’t count. I was running like a million chores as usual and thought I’d get some fried chicken… I pulled prematurely into the wrong driveway/parking lot, but thought eh, I’ll just walk over to the window. There was a guy there already and after waiting quite awhile I asked him if they helped him yet, he said«no». There were several people working but they would only help the drive-in customers. After several cars order and get there food I resolved to leaning over staring at them. Still, they took their sweet ass time. Finally, after that guy orders it’s my turn. Four chicken legs and some fries please. She tells me the price, but it seems too cheap I said did you forget the fries? Oh yea, ok(Were the two items in my order a mind boggler or something?) I tried to use my credit card, and they said no, that they don’t take credit. Ok, how about debit? They take it but then they charge a fee. Fine, whatever, I scraped together just enough cash and change, and waited(I don’t know why, it’s not exactly a diverse menu) and finally I got my stupid meal! I cracked open the box to do a head count on my chicken, and drove the 15 – 20 minutes back to Eastlake. And guess what? I only had 3 pieces of chicken. I didn’t realize they threw in a stupid tasteless biscuit.(why was there sugar on the biscuit anyway) I had wrongly did my head count, and now I just went through a bunch of crap to sit on my couch and still be a little hungry. Forget you 3rd Avenue Church’s Chicken! I’m going to KFC from now on!

I’ve been coming to this establishment since I was in junior high and that’s a while ago. I love Church’s chicken and there is nothing that compares to it(in my opinion). I have nothing but good juicy, finger licking good chicken from here. I don’t think it’s oily like what others say. I think KFC’s chicken is even more oily. The deals that they have are pretty awesome and inexpensive. You can get 10 pieces(legs and thighs) for about $ 7 on certain days. That’s a pretty good deal! I can’t say much for the sides since I don’t usually get them. That explains the 4 star rating.

I love Church’s chicken. It’s oily, crunchy, and the meat is yummm. Don’t have it over in the East Coast, at least not to my knowledge. So I miss this chicken a lot. Tear.

Just had a 2piece meal(about $ 5) which consisted of 2 pieces of chicken(had regular) small mashed potato and 1 biscuit, and a Soda. Chicken was OK, crunchy outside and moist inside only negative it was too oily like if my car was missing half a quart I would think about putting some in. Mashed potatoes were bad, had the consistency of play-dough, not very good in taste and even worse with gravy which was bad. Biscuits are always good cant complain. So for being a chain place cant expect much, better than KFC on Palomar that’s for sure.
