Hands down the happiest, friendliest, and most helpful optometrist’s I’ve ever been to. Thanks for the help this afternoon!

This is not a full size costco, and it’s in a snooty neighborhood so one thing you will not find is bagged iceberg salad that is a standard offering at most Costco’s even in Tijuana. That’s right, NO SALAD! Haven’t had any issues with staff, the ones I’ve interacted with have been cool. But the parking lot is dangerously congested/​poorly laid out. As a pedestrian I’ve nearly been run over multiple times, needs more speed bumps and potholes and maybe armed security guards. Also the clientele is very rude. They can see you’re waiting for a parking spot but they’ll try to squirt in rather than wait their turn for another spot, and you don’t dare say anything to them as they’ll bite your head off. Same for the «I’m special I drive an SUV crowd» They don’t care about stop signs, they’ll blow right through the stop signs and pass you on the right or left in an unsafe manner, or try to cut in line at the gas station. Congestion around the gas pumps contributes to the problem, but mostly it’s just rude folks who have not read the California Vehicle Code even though the CVC is available in 28 different languages.

I came here earlier this month to have my tires rotated and John helped me. He was very friendly and got me in and out really quick!

Former Costco member that has returned after several years. The major issue with this Costco is the dang food hand out stations. They are in the way and result in frustrating traffic jams. On top of this the employees at theses stations spend about 25 percent of there time handing out samples to other emoyees that are then in the way of shoppers. I’m a process improvement specialists and it hurts my soul to see sooooo many inefficiencies in what I previously saw as a very efficient company. It was a busy Sunday shopping day so I’m giving them some slack with 3 stars instead of 2. Management needs to push a cart and see what the shopping experience really is for their customers.

This review is based on my experience with the merchandise manager at this location name Ann. I called yesterday morning with a question about an item on back order. She went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me. She not only answered all of my questions, she even made some calls to other locations to help find the item for me. Costco is very lucky to have such competent and knowledge employee.

Their optometry department is terrible. I’d rather pay full price for an exam, glasses and frames somewhere else then use my insurance and entertain these clowns.
I ask a question. They tell me to figure it out. I ask about their selection they tell me again to figure it out.
Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t realize Costco hired you to stand there and try your hardest to make people look stupid.

Considering that I just wrote a review on the Costco in San Marcos that I had never been to before but seemed nicer than this Chula Vista location, this review is long overdue. I shop here once every 10 days or so. The wine selection is noticeably limited compared to other Costco’s in the area. The clerks aren’t quite as friendly although the guy who checks your receipt is always smiling.
So what is prompting this review is a call placed this morning to the tire department. I was told they could order my tire but I would have to come in to the store to place the order. It’s about a 7 mile drive so not too bad and I was there within 30 minutes only to be told that they couldn’t order that tire. To be fair, the guy who made the claim came over and apologized but it still didn’t take away from the fact that it wasted my time. I never get a real warm fuzzy when I shop at any Costco but this just made it even more noticeable that this one needs to work on execution.

We got there as it opened. There wasn’t a lot of people. HOWEVER, there were only three lanes open at registers. It was a cluster-​fuck of a train wreck. AND as I waited in one line with 20 other people, I’m watching a group of Costco employees walk by the registers, all with soft serve ice cream, and gossiping. So we left the full cart right there. GET IT TOGETHER COSTCO!

Perfect for shopping, have great deals. Although its crowded a little bit but the cashiers so fast as if you won’t feel any delay.

I stopped by the eye department to have my sunglass lenses changes and to have my regular glasses adjusted today. Everyone in the eye Dept is always awesome but Angie went way beyond helping me with my glasses. I am so stoked with her patience and kindness it reminds me there are good people that care about helping others still out there. Thanks Costco and you Angie.

I couldn’t put up with any more — Costco crossed the line with the customer service and failed. The employees as individuals are great and work hard. However I have to blame Costco management.
This is the my story. Needed tires and attempted to reach the store by phone. No way. No answer.
Appeared in person and got an appointment little more then 7 days out. My wife goes in and gets an appointment earlier and only 3 days out from her visit. She a cute Asian women and I white male about 6 years her senior I wonder if that had anything to do with it. I don’t know but the store continues.
I show 10 minutes before my appointed time. My car with new tires wouldn’t be ready for 2.5 hrs. I show 2 hrs later and the employees body language suggest they forgot my car.
I filed my complaint and 15 minutes my car was ready.
Poor planning and management of resources there Costco. I have $ 740.00 for this visit. And 2 years ago I spent about $ 700.00. This is tires alone.

I was trying to be «healthy» this morning with a Costco Chicken Caesar salad purchased from the food court on 12÷11÷15. I found a bug within this prepackaged salad.
Be careful on the packaged food! After seeing the viral video of the worm in a Costco packaged salmon and having a similar issue personally happen to me, I am wary about their quality control on food.

Since moving to Chula Vista, we regularly shop at this Costco now. It’s usually pretty crowded, no matter what day or time of the week you go. The nice thing is the lines move fairly quickly. The cashiers are obviously well trained, and they are friendly!
Costco has a lot of items that you can buy in bulk. It’s main customers are people who buy for businesses, or families. Our family does most of our grocery shopping here. We stock up on hygiene items, like paper products and stuff. It saves us time and money. I’ve tried many of their Kirkland brand items and I think they’re just fine. We usually purchase Kirkland brands over name brand items, because they’re more cost effective, and the quality is good.
Costco offers many USDA Certified Organic food items. I’m disappointed that they don’t sell organic butter, like the Costco in Las Vegas where we used to shop at before moving here. Still, they have lots of other organic foods to choose from.
Costco rewards its members for shopping there. We recently received our «Thank you for shopping at Costco» gift certificate. We bought some cool outdoor Christmas decorations, our favorite Tillamook cheddar cheese, and some Asiago cheese, all for under $ 7 with our rebate! Oh and did I mention that they’re always giving away free samples? The free sample of Asiago cheese we tried is why we ended up buying some. Gotta love Costco!

This changes my previous review of costco. We had to renew our costco card, we headed to renewal and the membership lady didn’t wanted to deal with us, so she gave us a diffrent card and said pay for the card when you pay. When we got to the register the register lady named Rosa. Slammed the card and acted rude. Said we were now executive card even though one of our cards was gold and the new one was executive. She said we needed to go to the membership if we didnt wanted to pay the amout for the card the changed. My mom tried to use her card and Rosa said. The change has been made you need to go to membership before you can buy. Rosa had made such a big fuzz that another cashier came over to hush things down. Rosa started taking things out as if we were not going to buy them it ended up that a higher up had to fix the mess their people at membership made and the cashier rosa made worse.

I love Costco. Yes, its crowded, but the pros know when to go and how to stay out of the cramped isles. This Costco is always stocked with local beers, seafood, and great cosmetic items. They started selling single serving salads which are great to take to work. Every employee, from eyewear to photos, to the cashiers are so nice. This is so rare in a store so busy. Love me Costco!

I hate Costco’s only because it does not matter what time of day you go to one, it is always packed. I do however like this Costco as it is close to everything I am near on a regular basis. I can get a lot of things taken care of in this shopping center and while I am waiting, I can shop at Costco for my families needs.
I wish that the gas was always opened and I think they should always have an attendant working it so that they can make more money and we can have the luxury of going to a place with discounted gas for us at all times.

I swear their wine selection is ¹⁄₃ the price of the same wines sold at the Costco in Virginia. Color me envious! They have an impressive Costco size selection of liquors too. Super sized! They also carry a good selection of popular local brews like Ballast Point, Mike Hess, and Stone Brewing.
Every Costco I’ve been to carries food unique to the local population. In San Diego you get marinated pollo asada, carne asada, and legit Mexican restaurant style tortilla chips. In Virginia you will find Indian curry dishes and Basmati rice. In Hawaii you will find kimchi and Wasabi flavored Doritos. I love the variety… I just wish you could access some of that variety at other locations around the US

So my mother –in– law thought we costco today bad idea it so busy I like it on Sunday stand in line to get a late mocha bee in line for 5 minute hope it good now we going in to fight the people, send me some luck that we get home in one peace

I love this place as well as this worker (Rain-​Lynn) right here! She is beyond helpful!
This review is in response to Karen M. I was here when this incident happened. This employee was calm and was following her policy and procedure as an employee. She calmly said that she would call for a supervisor to help Karen M., but the employee was also dealing with a long line at the check out. The lady that was trying to get in is obviously taking her frustrations on this poor girl for losing her own wallet. That’s your fault lady, not this poor girl. She was only doing her job.
Karen M, you are not Mariah or «the best,» profile pictures are of yourself, not other people, that’s called lying.

Thankfully, the snack bar is outside, although that means non-​members can eat too.
This location was incredibly busy around 5 p.m. Friday that I was tempted to go anywhere else. However, I ended up at the register closest to the entrance, and it was quick.
The overall design of the store seems as though people weren’t following the plan, as most I’ve visited are organized in the same way. Maybe, they’re the exception.
In any case, I got my exercise trying to find items, and was finally successful. Prices are a little high but otherwise okay. They’re close to being too high for the level of service but the cashier was friendly. I just don’t think I’ll renew my membership.
