Being new to the area we went out adventuring in Chula area. We walked 3rd ave and came across this hidden gem in the midst of so many hair salons. We are east coasters, so this culture and food are so new to us. We order a lot from pictures and what others are already eating. We ordered and were so happy with our option. But in talking with others there we couldn’t go wrong. The place needs a bit of updating and cleaning, but all in all it was a good option. We will be back for breakfast as reading the reviews this is their specialty.

My favorite taco shop in the south bay area. I really enjoy their food, especially on the weekend’s when they have posole! The place could use a upgrade inside though. Customer service is okay not the best but could use a little work. Highly recommend the chimichanga!

Today I went in for breakfast, so I ordered the huevos a la mexicana. It wasn’t that good. The eggs weren’t fresh. They came out of a carton and where tasteless. The frijoles and the rice were microwaved on the plate. You can tell by the stuck on beans around the edge. The rice was very bland. I guess this place is only good for the rolled tacos.

By far 1 of the best taco shops I’ve ever ate at. Me & my bestfriend both ordered California Burritos. When they brought our food to our table we couldn’t believe how HUGE these burriitos were! Literally they were the size of my forearm(length & circumference)! And don’t even get me started on how incredible they tasted. The carne was cooked perfectly-not 1 piece of fat or grissle in either burrito. My 1st time at this place and immediately it became 1 of my Top 5 Taco Shops. I LOVETHISPLACE and you will too!

Everytime I come to this restaurant, they mess up my order. One time they gave me the wrong order of a burrito. The next time they gave my order of food to the wrong person. Even when I had an acceptable reason to be upset and confronted about their service BOTHTIMES, the employees showed no concern; even had an attitude. Oh yeah, and they put like a tablespoon of avocado in the burritos. Don’t waste your money or time.

I gave this place 5 stars just on their shrimp cheese quesadilla!!! We also ordered the carne asada fries but not enough meat, however, we just asked for more no problem. The place is small and hot but it’s a taco shop so I’m never expecting anything else…

Not worthy of 4 stars. Bought an Adobada, and shrimp burrito and both were just okay.

Great food for a GREAT price. A breath of fresh air from the overpriced bastions of white-washed mexican food popping up all over east county. The food is made with love, but don’t expect to wait longer than 10 minutes for your order. By the way the burritos are HUGE, Don Pedro’s is known for that. The food here will never fail you.

Absolutely love the service from Jose and the entire Don Pedro Taco Shop! We do quarterly employee appreciation luncheons at Kearny Pearson Ford & Kia with catering from Don Pedro’s tacos. We cater for 250 people and we all love their food and aguas frescas. The service is exceptional and the tortillas are made by hand right in front of you. The meat, chicken, and fish is cooked as you order it. Best service in San Diego area. They have the best decorations. The variety of salsas, beans, rice, chips, and churros is great! It is definitely served to perfection. They are amazing!

New favorite spot. Their tacos are delicious and you definitely get what you pay for and more. Can’t go wrong with any food item here.

I’ve had their posole and their chicken tacos and it’s easy to see what their speciality is. Their posole is great however their tacos were so bad that I couldn’t finish eating it. I wish I had ordered in to complain to them directly but we ordered to go. My boyfriend also ordered a cali burrito with shrimp and he said it was too salty and that nothing tasted fresh. $ 30 went to the trash. I wont be returning here for anything else but their posole only if its the last place to get some.

Best friendly service out of every taco shop, stand or restaurant I’ve been to. Lived here for 33 years. My friend Bubba told me about Pedros. It’s quickly become my go to place. My personal favorite is the bacon and egg plate. So much food, and for some reason it tastes amazing everytime I get it. Prices here are better than everywhere else as well. Trust me you will not be disappointed here.

Walked in on a Saturday morning and the place was PACKED! Not one table open and a line almost to the door. I’m assuming it was because they only serve menudo and pozole on the weekends, but it’s also a local spot for pretty good Mexican food. I hadn’t been here for a while, but remembered I liked their breakfast burritos. We ordered a breakfast burrito which came with egg, potato, & beans, and a bacon breakfast burrito. Neither came with cheese, so we added it to both. They were just as good as we remembered and big too. Even though there was a long line, it moved quickly and we got our order in less than ten minutes.

You cannot go wrong with this taco shop! Homemade style mexican food with even better burritos. I have been coming here for years and the food has always been fresh and consistent. The green salsa is to die for. Make sure you stop by on the weekend to have menudo because it is not served on the weekdays. Rolled tacos are also a favorite but to be honest everything on the menu is really good and cheap! Quality, affordable and flavorful Mexican food!

SOLID all around. This place has a steady stream of customers, full tables and lines for good reason. They give you delicious chips and salsa when you sit. There’s something special about the tortilla chips they serve. A HUGEPLUS, is that they’re so friendly and attentive! You WILL get really full while eating here. Portions are large and filling. Tacos, burritos, soups are PACKED with meat and toppings. I personally love their carnitas, shrimp tacos and rolled tacos. Menudo is the best in the area(but only available on weekends). They make REALLY tasty red & green salsas. The food definitely has an ethnic taste, not that watered down American taco shop taste most places have. Don’t expect a fancy joint, but your stomach and your wallet will be extremely pleased! Other tacos shops need to take note of the quality and quantity of food being served here. We even had an entire take out bag filled because we had so much extra food!

Great prices. Average food. Free chips and salsa. Dark and a little depressing inside. Thought this was a full service place. Average order at the counter fast food Mexican. Nice that they bring out free chips and salsa and bring out your order. Got the rolled tacos and they were good. But frankly I can’t tell the difference from theirs and several other places I’ve been to. Saw a burrito a guy had and it was freakin’ huge. Good for average Mexican food at reasonable prices. Feels a little over rated.
