I used a coupon. Good food. We went in on a Tuesday around 7 pm. We saw some people pick up to go orders, but for sit down and eat, it was just us. We were greated by an extremely nice lady. She took our orders and brought us our plates. She gets and A+ for customer service. She came by our table several times to check if we needed anything, she took our dirty places away(oh, they use real ceramic traditional style ceramic dishes to serve the food). Even the cook in back was nice, said«hi» to me from all the way back there cooking and came out front when the girl had stepped away. I needed a to go container and he saw me standing there looking for something so he walked out and helped me. Now to the food. My husband ordered the ham torta. The bolillo(bread they used) was toasty to perfection. Ample amounts of ham and cheese, very tasty. We also ordered some beef rolled tacos and a couple of carne asada street style tacos. The tacos were very good. My husband compared it to a very popular taco place in Chula Vista, won’t mention the name, and he said these were second to those. I think they were pretty darn good. Lots of beef and guacamole. The rolled tacos were okay. I did not like that the mid portion of the rolled taco, the tortilla, was not crunchy. The ends were crunchy but when I got to the middle of the taco the tortilla was a bit tough and thick. I think it is the type of corn tortilla they used. The horchata is very good, freshly made(not a sugary syrup). They literally make this fresh from scratch. It was light and refreshing. Overall, good experience. I gave it four stars because of the rolled tacos and I think the exterior and interior could use a «freshening up», looks a bit run down. But we will be going back if we are in the area.

Honestly I will not be coming back, food had no flavor!!! Menudo and pozole were blahhhhh… I came here because my mom said when she ate here… the menudo was delicious! ! Amm when??? Sorry but I didn’t enjoy the food… I’m giving 2 stars because the service was good, the lady was very attentive, making sure we had everything. If your looking for good Menudo or pozole? Look for the Britta place on Broadway in chula vista. I will be going to the same place, it’s hard to find a good mexican place here where pozole and Menudo actually taste good! Sorry but noooooooo!!!

Do NOT try to use a Groupon coupon there, you are wasting your time. I entered and tried to order menudo. They were out. I tried to order pescado frito, they were out. I then ordered another dish and tried to use my Groupon. I was with 2 other people who had also purchased Groupon coupons. We were told that all 3 of use could NOT use them. We showed him the coupon. It says«Limit one per person». He still said no. We asked him to call the owner, who was called and gave us the same story. If you don’t want to accept the Groupon Coupon, DON’T SELLTHEM! I am going to get my money back from Groupon and will NEVER set foot in here again. They were nasty and rude and after spending 10 minutes arguing with them, I certainly didn’t want to eat their food.

Looks like a tiny storefront diner from the outside. Everyone speaking Spanish. Very unpretentious AND casual. There are a few tables left of the entry and, to the immediate right is the cash register and nice lady to take your order and payment. You can also partially see and hear sounds from the kitchen at this vantage point. Surprisingly, when you look straight ahead upon entering, there’s what appears to be a much larger dining area, less well lit than the front. I’ve not gone back there, yet. I’ve been there three times: the pollo asado tacos were wonderful, juicy with creamy chunky guacamole as I recall on hand-made corn tortillas; the carnitas plate was a lot and I could not finish it; the fish tacos were the best I’ve eaten. Finally, the home-made flan is out-of-this world delicious. Yesterday, I purchased a double serving of fish tacos and flan for take-out so that I could share this delicious food with a friend who is French, a cook, and fussy about flan! She was REALLY impressed at the freshness, quality and price for this simply delicious meal! She agreed that the flan was marvelous. The green salsa(I think the milder of the 2 offered) was too hot for her taste, but an absolute favorite of mine. The lady who takes the orders is a hidden treasure. She is so knowledgeable about the differences between American and Mexican traditions. A very nice person. I enjoy talking with her. PS: Day-by-day, I am a vegetarian. On the few occasions when I do take-out, however, especially if it is Mexican food, I enjoy pre-vegetarian day food in small amounts. This keeps me humble and non-judgemental most of the time! Also, this keeps me from becoming rigid and a complete pain to be around. I hate the word NEVER.

Very good pollo asado and Carnitas. They were both perfectly tender yet crispy and still has that smoky flavor from the grill. I had the Carnitas in a taco and the pollo asado in a torta. The taco was piled high and the torta was on point and came with lettuce, avocado, beans, and crema and the bread was toasty. Service was good and the place is clean. They have a jukebox and the place is spacious enough to get down to «the niddy gritty!» just saying. Oh yea and parking sucks.

Carne asada fries were on point. Don’t be fooled by the exterior. The meat was good and all the toppings were propositional. Al pastor taco was good too. They make good guacamole. They serve beer too. They could have a better salsa bar or display it better. No complaints about anything really

Taco Tuesday. 99 cent fish tacos. So good. It had cabbage and a whole bunch of other stuff. It looked and tasted like a paid more for it. Came out piping hot, and grandma came from the back of the kitchen to make sure I was happy with her food. So happy that bought 3 more tacos after my first 3. Found this. Place while waiting at firestone. So glad that I did. This hole in the wall place played Mexican music, and even had the Spanish channel on. Well worth the wait at firestone. I will come back again but with friends and family next time.

Homemade style food in a Mexican fast food front. Standard Mexican fast food look, feel and menu with a few nice specials. Back patio is the shocker here. Cool spot in the back that’s nice and open. Specials seem like the way to go here. Got the birria plate special. Portion was smaller than anticipated but your can see the effort they put in their food. Feel like I need to try it a few more times to give it a solid review. Hopefully I’ll be more impressed and bump up the rating.

Awesome place! The delicious adobada tacos prepared outside at night on weekends give an authentic Mexican feel and taste, the carne asada fries are only $ 6 and are so delicious! They include fries, carne asada, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. I have been coming here a few months and always keep coming back.

Burritos need to be bigger so until they look larger than an empty ketchup pack I might return

Food here is Delish. The Pozole is so good and comes with unlimited hand made tortillas you can’t beat that.

I used to go here at least three times a week for lunch when I worked at the Firestone next door. On occasion, my coworkers and I would have group lunches or after-work bites. The prices are a little higher than most, but the clean setting and friendly employees make it a worthwhile stop. Word of caution: the huge breakfast burrito is no joke! That thing is a human baby haha. #1 recommendation would be their freshly made«carne adobada» at night. Whew! You start with two or three and end up eating six or more of those bad boys — seriously! If you opt to dine inside, they will offer tortilla chips as an appetizer while you wait for your food. It is a kind gesture. If you are lucky, they will have their own homemade specials in addition to the typically offered horchata and jamaica, such as strawberry.

Stopped in this little hole in the wall a bit hungry from my excruciating wait at Firestone literally next door, steps away. I only ordered a Carne Asada Taco, but it was yummy and authentic. They were quick and kind. I walked in to see them cleaning which always brings a smile of relief! The prices could be a little lower, but it’ll tie me over and subside my frustration with firestone. This isn’t a place I would go out of my way for, but if you’re in the area or next door, might as well swing by and enjoy some good Mexican food! I’m actually still waiting at firestone and contemplating on walking back for another taco… hmm.
