You will not find a more caring, giving and inspiring dance teacher in San Diego. Miss Felicia is a God sent for dancers of all ages. Dance is her true passion and it shows everyday. I see dancers excited for class and ready to learn. Miss Felicia and her team puts so much thought into every class, every girl and every show. She integrates French vocabulary, gives them homework sheets to practice and improve their technique and vocabulary at home. At the academic level, the girls recieve a detailed report card… something I hadn’t seen since my younger years of dance! Proof that she really gets to know each dancer individually. She is an extraordinary role model and it’s so nice to see how much her students look up to her. She helps boost their confidence through positive discipline and helps motivate them into reaching their full potential. It is a very close knit community with a familial feel. The atmosphere is friendly, the staff is absolutely incredible! We love Jenni! They really get to know you and care. You are not just another business client. Miss Felicia has been giving back to the community for years and the concept of her studio is to make the arts affordable for families. She is truly a rare gem! My husband and I are so grateful for everything she has done for our daughters. Don’t think twice! The word is spreading… Inspire School of Ballet is the place to be!

For a new studio Felicia has done a amazing job! She is very welcoming and very positive with the children. I love how she takes time explaining things to the kids and giving the positive feedback:)

My daughters have been with Ms. Felicia since 2011. Being new to the dance school world at that time, we carefully examined several different options in the area. Ms. Felicia’s name kept popping up in conversations with other parents. At every open enrollment, there were long lines of parents trying to gain a spot for their child in her classes. My husband and I would strategically plan our schedules to be at the registration offices the day registration opened. Many other parents did the same and for 5 years now, we have been successful at getting our girls into her classes. Her reputation as an extremely talented and disciplined teacher is matched only by her professional, patient and pleasant personality. Her passion for ballet is so evident in her meticulous attention to detail in her technique. The connection she has with each child and the respect she gives them while commanding a class is like nothing I’ve ever seen. No bells and whistles here. The people I’ve met through the years with Ms. Felicia, are a direct reflection of the kind of energy she puts out. You will not find anyone in the lobby who isn’t friendly, respectful and kind. Why? Because good attracts good. If you want a safe, loving environment where your child will grow and develop a solid foundation in dance/ballet…then Inspire School of Ballet is your answer. Congratulations Ms. Felicia! Our community is so blessed to have you!

I am beyond happy that there is a place like Inspire Ballet here in Eastlake… with ADULTCLASSES! I literally walked in one day and the receptionist and Ms. Felicia’s husband greeted me warmly and answered any questions I had. I used to be a dancer many moons ago and felt right at home taking Ms. Felicia’s adult ballet class. She doesn’t baby you, but she also doesn’t push too hard. It’s the exact combination I was always looking for in an instructor. I usually hang out before my class and talk to parents. So many happy families! I hear of the kids’ progress and how Ms. Felicia has been instructing some since they were small. I like to see instructors investing in their students’ futures so I’m excited to be signing up my 7 year old for the next semester! It’s a very comfortable, non-intimidating but serious ballet school and I can’t wait for our family to be a part of it.

My daughter tried out a class and absolutely loved it. After emailing with Ms. Felicia she gave me a pro-rated amount and mentioned that the class I wanted to sign her up for was no longer available for online registration only in person registration. She did mention I could sign up for a different class online and she would make the changes. Since I was going to be in the area that evening I figured it would be easier to come and do it in person. I came in and told the receptionist what I was there for. She asked if I had signed up online, hmmm, no that’s what I was there for. She proceeded to ask me questions to fill out application for me, she seemed very bothered. I mentioned that Ms. Felicia had told me the Tuesday class was not available for online registration and she said«I don’t know why she said that because I see it’s available» ok well I was there and I didn’t know it would be such an inconvenience. But we proceeded then when I told her the pro rated amount she said no it’s this much hmmm! Absolutely not since it was already a good 6 weeks or so since the class had started and a $ 65 difference than the pro rated amount I was given. That’s when I said never mind and walked out. Perhaps I should’ve asked to speak with Ms. Felicia but she was teaching a class at the moment and I really cannot see myself bringing my daughter into class every week and waiting in the small lobby knowing how rude the receptionist was. I did send Ms. Felicia an email but never heard back. It is very disappointing since my daughter was really looking forward to this new adventure and I had recommended the studio to several people. If I would’ve known the inconvenience this would’ve been for the receptionist, who you would think would be happy to help, I wouldn’t have bothered coming in. Given that this is a ballet studio I would’ve though the receptionist, since she’s the first point of contact for the students and parents, would be a little more welcoming and encourage students to apply. We thought we found the studio for our daughter but now we back at square one and my little girl isn’t too happy about it!

It is kind of parent rite of passage to find«that thing» that your kid will love doing. Moms and dads, if I asked you to raise your hand if you watched your kid start an art class or an instrument or a sport only to see them stop after one or two lessons raise your hand right now. I bet some of you would be raising both. If you’re lucky eventually you strike gold and find«that thing.» Well with Miss Felicia Alvarez, we struck gold, oil, silver, and platinum. Our two daughters have been with Miss Felicia for seven years. No, your eyes do not deceive you. Not seven days. Not seven weeks. From their very first lesson with Miss Felicia we knew we had found a person whose passion for ballet was only matched by her passion for teaching. Anybody can be an «expert» at something. However, to expertly share their knowledge and pass it on to future generations is an entirely different dance(hah, pun intended). Remember that astrophysics professor with the PhD from Yale who taught your class but you had no clue what they were saying? That’s what I mean. No such problem with Miss Felicia. She has been able to develop our daughters from two little kids who looked super duper cute bopping around in tutus into two beautiful graceful young ladies who can flow across the stage with poise and purpose. What is remarkable is that it is not just our kids either. Over the past seven years we’ve seen her classes go from a handful of kids once a week to several classes of kids at different levels throughout the week. Recitals used to be held in a community gym but her classes and following have grown to the point where she needs to rent out high school performance art auditoriums. She is hands-on in all facets from choreography, costuming, storytelling, and merchandising. Sold out shows mind you! Why is Miss Felicia so successful? She has all the traits you want in a teacher. Patience. Let’s face it. Trying to hold the attention span of kids at any age takes magic. Well, Hogwarts please give Ms. Felicia a professorship. Cheery disposition? Move over Mary Poppins. How to take all those ballet terms and moves and make kids understand them? Anne Sullivan and C-3PO rolled up into one. We are so excited for her new school, Inspire School of Ballet. She is truly devoted to helping your child reach their ultimate dance potential. So if your child is still looking for that«thing» we highly suggest you give Miss Felicia a twirl(hah, second dance pun intended).
