I used to always go to the Lolita’s on East Palomar or(sometimes) Bonita because they were closest to me, but the wait was just dreadful. Not to mention, at the East Palomar location, the fries would forever be soggy even when I would ask for them to be crispy. I was super excited to hear that they were building an Eastlake Lolita’s even though it took an extra half a year or so. This Lolita’s has a very modernized look and feel to it. It’s different than the rest, but the thing that makes this Lolita’s, Lolita’s, is the quote, «Patience is the essence of fine Mexican food,» as well as the menu, of course. Honestly, at any time of the day, the East Palomar location is crowded. I’m so glad that the Eastlake one doesn’t get as packed, but it could’ve also been the timeframe. Regardless, when I went, it wasn’t busy whatsoever. My boyfriend ordered a small carne asada fries, I got a California burrito, and we each got bottled Cokes. Their carne asada fries and California burrito are my favorite things off the menu! My boyfriend’s fries were perfect with crispy fries without even having to ask, so that was a plus. After making a little dent my in burrito, I realized that there was no sour cream. I was pretty disappointed because it was a damn good burrito. My boyfriend asked about the sour cream and they offered to make me a new burrito, but I just wanted sour cream on the side because I was impatient and there would’ve been no difference. The worker mentioned that the sour cream probably went to the bottom of the burrito. I also added guacamole to it, but there were moments of guac, and moments of it missing. Please. If I’m spending $ 1.25 on some guacamole, disperse it throughout the burrito. And the sour cream! It comes with the burrito, so why not include it? That’s the thing about burritos… Sometimes the ingredients aren’t dispersed enough. It makes no sense if you decide to put a certain ingredient in one area because you have to roll the thing! I wish it was consistent. Nonetheless, it was a delicious burrito that could’ve been perfect. The carne asada fries were tasty though! The worker was somewhat passive aggressive when my boyfriend mentioned the sour cream. She was a little defensive and had a rude-ish tone with no smiles, but she still managed to offer a new burrito and apologized and such to seem nice. The worker who took our order also lacked in the customer service realm. I’m not bitter though because the food is so good that I don’t mind them.
