Great place to eat and have a cold beer. Service is very professional and polite. The shrimp ceviche is delicious. Will return soon!!!

Well, it was a Saturday night and all the other places in the neighborhood were full or had long waits. Chili’s. Cheesecake factory. Hector Marisco’s. Miguel’s. PF Changs. So on a whim we thought«lets try Papgayos». Its local, we’re supporting the Eastlake area, etc. We’re four couples and it went downhill within minutes. All we initially wanted was drinks. They first squeezed us into a small table. Then we had to explain how you can put the empty table next to us to make room. Then finally here comes the chips and salsa. Eventually the waiter comes by and takes our drink order. No sense of urgency or purpose, no introduction, just«what would you like?» One of our group asked for water. He bought out one glass of water to a table of 8 people. He didn’t ask if anyone else wanted water, or anything else. In retrospect we each should have asked for a glass of water to see if he would make eight trips. I ordered an appetizer. He left without asking anyone else if they wanted to order. My food came and everyone else was wondering if he as going to take their orders! Eventually he did, while we were eating. Very shoddy… The food came out(especially the burrito) without presentation. the burrito was plain on a plate, no garnish, no sauce, no side fixin’s like guac or hot sauce, just a plain dry burrito. Its like they weren’t even trying. We joked about maybe they’re owned by a cartel and they just have the place open to launder money. The poor service didn’t occur just to us, the table next to us had no silverware until after their food came. I guess there’s a reason why on a Saturday night during prime dining hours we were able to come in and sit without a wait. If you’re reading this you want to see if Papagayos is any good. And I’m here to say simply«no». For drinks its adequate. For food, you can do better.
