I wanted to venture out of El Pollo Loco so my family and I decided to give this place a shot. For a little over $ 20, we got: 8 piece of chicken 2 sides — rice & beans 6 tortillas The rice was undercooked and the beans had no flavor. They had salsa available where you can get it yourself. The salsa was ok. The chicken, on the other hand, tasted just as good as El Pollo Loco. Service was a bit slow considering we were the only ones in the restaurant. Not sure if I would return.

So I go out of my way for this place and they weren’t even open despite the sign saying it’s open and the business hours showing it should be open too. Wasted time. … try the taco shop next door

The place has a good atmosphere and a friendly staff. I came in with no expectations and the flavor and quality of the food blew me away. That’s some good chicken. The only downside was that the quantity of the bowl I ordered was pretty small. It still got me pretty full though. And the quality of it was just so good. Idk I suck at reviews but I’m just glad the Mexican shop across the street has better competition.

The food has no flavor !!! The chicken was dry and the side dishes(rice, beans, and macaroni salad) sucked too. Definitely will not be back and do not recommend anyone to eat there. You really are better off eating at El Pollo Loco !!!

I have spent the last 6 months going to every Pollo Asado restaurant in San Diego. I have tried every one of them and concluded that this was the best pollo asado in San Diego on my own. My friends didn’t believe me so I went to El Pollo Grill in Lemon Grove which was the second best and bought a whole Chicken Dinner and then I did the same at Super Pollo. We sat down and we tried the chicken side by side and it was unanimous — every single person(all 12) thought Super Pollo tasted far better. The chicken at Super Pollo is delicious. It is not dry. They slow cook it high over the flame so it doesn’t burn but gets crispy and the citrusy-mexican flavor comes through on this chicken. Good luck finding any better Pollo Asado in San Diego. This is it. 5STARS!

I love this place but I drove to the new location in Otay ranch around 8:00 pm and the place is closed… Don’t trust the hours call before to see if they are open.

Had great experience at chula vista restaurant in the past, however today I purchased a family pack to take home, from east lake store, chicken was way too dry. If it gets old get rid of it. Bad

Came here for lunch cause we were nearby. We walked in and we were greeted Hi! I love how nice the employees are. We order the $ 5.50 lunch special. It comes with chicken, rice, beans, a salad and tortillas. The drink is not included. They have Coke fountain drinks! I was glad. The chicken is the best tasting chicken I have had. Better than any fast food chicken places(KFC, El Pollo Loco, etc.) The rice was tasty. The beans were soft and filling. Had excess water but beans were good. The tortillas were hot. The salad had a tasty dressing. Not your typical dressing. More of a salsa and shredded beets were on top. So good. There were a few tables inside, a sink where you can wash your hands and a single restroom on the corner. The lady working there was checking up on us and asked us if we were doing ok. I told her the chicken was flavorful and good. I highly recommend this place. Awesome food! They also have a kids menu which is great for my daughter. She had fries with a cheese quesadilla. She gave me a thumbs up for this place.

Food was not bad, sort of like El Polli Loco. Chicken was rally tasty but for some reason the rice and beans were not as I expected. The rice had a different bland taste to it. I give it 4 stars because they had nice customer service and provided my meal quickly.

I recently visited the Eastlake location & it was the last time I ever eat from them. I ordered chicken flautas & they over fried them not to mention that they had no taste. they were so overcooked that I could only taste the grease… Ugh never aging…

Came here for takeout. Place closes at 9pm not 10pm. Placed order at 9pm and Arrived at 915pm. Girl at checkout was very nice and accommodating. Food was delicious. Ordered the steak salad. Meat was juicy. Not enough lettuce but didn’t really mind. Will come here again.

Thank you to Priscilla and Diana who helped us last Thursday. Diana knows how to cook up some chicken! They were both very helpful, friendly and gave lots of nice smiles. I definitely recommend the shrimp tostada. My husband and kids got the steak and a whole chicken. All of which were very, very tasty and very well priced. Happy to hear from Priscilla that there is another location on Broadway. We will definitely be coming back and visiting both locations.

Wow where to start being Cinco de Mayo I was feeling for a little Mexican there is a fairly new place here in Otay ranch. It’s called Super Pollo. There is Nothing Super about this place. Unless your looking for Super bad food. I ordered the steak plate and 4 pcs of Pollo(chicken) as a verity the steak was not marinaded wafer thin I think maybe 2 oz. with no taste what’s so ever. This was just thrown in a Togo box very unappealing the chicken omg this chicken may have had flavor a few hours ago it has been on there grill over very low heat to keep it warm but after a long time of doing that. It dries out a lot and the outside was as tough as leather when I got home they forgot tortillas and salsa for the chips the fries were old and cold needless to say Mexico is insulted buy this poor attempt at the vibrant flavorful food from south of our boarder. I love good Mexican food just not this place

I recently drove by one of their other Chula Vista locations and said that I would try them out one day. When my travels had me by this location around lunch time, I decided to stop in. I got my lunch quickly and took a bite of the chicken and could not get over how much better it was than what El Pollo Loco serves! The chicken was juicy and tasted like it was just made rather than dry and leathery. The rice and fries also tasted like they were just made. For those that would prefer salads, they have a few to choose from. Super Pollo also has a few steak items on their menu if you are not a fan of chicken. There are very few unhealthy items on the menu here(nothing fried only grilled) so if you are on a diet, you won’t go hungry at Super Pollo! Thumbs up to the staff and your great cooking as well as customer service! I will definitely be returning.

When ever I am craving some chicken, this is my go to place. The chicken is so flavorful, juicy and their rice tastes just like my grandmother’s! Their salsa is also delicious. If you are in the mood for some grilled chicken with a Mexican flare, this is the place to go!

Quick, fresh and healthy. I got the Avocado tostada without the fried shell and rice to make it low carb. Very filling. Salsa is identical to El Pollo Loco but everything else tasted fresher.

I like a place that specializes on roasted or grilles chicken. Finding its roots in Baja California, this place is hoping to make its mark in Southern California with its grilled chicken with secret marinade and spices. I stopped in for lunch and ordered their breast and wing combo plate with a side of pinto beans, salad, and three corn tortillas. If I remember correctly, it was $ 8 and some change( ). I have to say the chicken was quite good and a step above El Pollo Loco. I found their chicken to be more meatier and not as salty as El Pollo Loco. It had very nice color and a very tasty skin with the meat remaining tender and mildly juicy( ). The chicken breast meat was perfect for breaking apart and making it into a taco with their warm corn tortillas. After topping it off with some of their zesty salsa, I was ready to dig in( ). They gave me three corn tortillas and they came piping hot in plastic bag( ). Very good chicken… The pinto beans were tender and lightly seasoning, which I liked. They had a mild flavor and not robust as some that are cooked with a ham hock( ). Good beans. The salad was typical and nothing special, but they were necessary greens that I needed, I ate them in my tacos I made, but I did appreciate the pickled onions( ). Overall I was pleased with my meal and service. The you lady who took my order was nice and the gentlemen, either manager or owner was friendly.

If you told me this was el pollo loco chicken, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. But I think el pollo loco slightly has the advantage, with better side items, salads, and more choices of salsa(with an unlimited salsa bar at el pollo loco). The side items include: rice, beans, potato salad, mac salad, regular salad. The beans were boiled and plain. The rice was slightly overcooked. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. The prices are just about the same. About $ 20 for 10 piece legs and thighs with 2 large sides and 10 oz salsa is what I ordered. They do have plate meals if you don’t want to order a family meal. I tried to order the salmon plate, but they were out of salmon(Sunday afternoon around 12pm). The lady who took my order was very nice and brought me my to go food outside by the fountain.
