If your hungry and have to eat try it but not impressive at all… I got the 12″ cheese steak with fries and drink and paid over $ 10 bucks for the meal. The sandwich had more lettuce and tomato than meat and was kinda greasy and had no flavor. The fries were good but the sandwich sucked!!! Mcgonagles is far more better & the prices are too. I’ll probably never eat at steak escape again. I’ll just go next door to hot dog on a stick.

A little over rated steak sandwiches. The bread is not the best.

I ended up eating here because they had a huge picture of a philly cheesesteak somewhere else in the mall that looked to good to be true… I should have known that the sandwich I received would look nothing like the one I had been implicitly promised via the advertisement. I guess you can do a lot worse than Steak Escape as far food court food goes, but ha, we all know that food court food doesn’t go very far…

Chicken parmesan sandwich is really good. The cheese fries are also surprisingly good. These are the only options I’ve ever ordered here but I am pleased with these orders enough to make this my spot when I want those particular things to eat. It can be a bit pricey though(a typical combo meal runs about $ 7-$ 8).

This was my first time eating from the food court at Otay Ranch mall and I wasn’t impressed at all from Steak Escape. They had a god variety of sandwiches but none of them looked good at all. I went with the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and a fountain drink all for $ 7.75. The bread was just plain with no flavor and somewhat cold, even though I had asked it for it toasted. The meat tasted and resembled almost as carne asada. I personally don’t like iceberg lettuce on my Philly sub and it felt as if I was eating a Subway sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, I love Subway but I was expecting something different. I really couldn’t enjoy my meal due to the sandwich and it was freezing cold inside. Customer service was ok, they were all teens with no experience who were all just talking about the upcoming weekend and texting which is not cool when making someones sandwich. Quiet embarrassing, but to be honest, I had stomach problems later on that night. Ha ha!

Not bad for food from a mall food court. We had the turkey version of the steak escape and it was pretty darn tasty. The 12 inch split in 2 was totally enough for 2 people. The bread could use some work, as it was falling apart on us. The fries weren’t bad, pretty fresh, and who can resist fake cheese sauce from a 7 – 11 variety liquid cheese pump. Ummm, nacho cheese. Service was good, the Jamaica was watered down, the place was hot as hell, even inside where I thought it was air conditioned. All that being said, I’d definitely give it another try, just to have the steak, especially since there isn’t much variety in the food court.

While this doesn’t compare to places like Gaglione Bros., it is quite good for mall food court fare. They have a variety of different types of sandwiches, but, as the name implies, they exist for one reason alone: cheesesteaks. Speaking of which, these cheesesteaks are tasty. An ample portion of meet and cheese grilled in front of you with your choice of onions and peppers. Mayo, lettuce and tomato can also be added after cooking, but why? While you wouldn’t expect to find somewhat healthy options at a mall food court, Steak Escape gets bonus points for coming in at only 660 calories and 12 grams of fat for a 12 inch cheesesteak. Is it the healthiest meal on the planet? No, but it is definitely passable as an occasional treat.

I was down in Otay yesterday for Wags for Wishes and had a chance to eat in the brand spankin new food court at a beautiful new shopping center off Olympic Parkway. I chose the Steak Escape cause a cheesesteak sandwich of some sort sounded fabulous! I ordered the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and it was quite yummy. I would have liked a tad more chicken but it tasted quite good and my french fries were quite good as well. They have a seasoning salt mix out to top off your fries and it just adds that little something extra! If you’re in the area then hit them up for a sandwich. The combo will run you like $ 7.50 i think :)
