Food is great, customer service is bad. Ordered a 16pc family meal, asked for salsa cups and only two 1oz containers were given when I asked for more cashier person by the name of Alex mad an upsetting face, I asked for napkins and he made ANOTHER upsetting face! I asked if it bothered him that I asked for extras he didn’t answer and just walked away, when my order was complete he asked cook to give it to us, I asked cook who Alex was and his reply was«oh he’s the owner», I couldn’t believe the owner would treat customers in such a bad mood! I guess we will be going somewhere else!!! NOT at ALLHAPPY

There is no better chicken in San Diego. This place kicks butt over pollo loco and other roasted chicken places. The chicken is flame grilled and super juicy. The sides are incredible. Do yourself a favor and ditch pollo loco for some real Mexican chicken at super pollo

I like places that make grilled chicken, and I had very good success with the location in Otay Lakes, so I decided to give this location a try, since I was in the area. In stead of a plate, this time I ordered the Chick-Potle Burrito with grilled chicken of course and a side of pinto beans. The burrito was quite good and came with a decent amount of tender chicken, that was mildly seasoned. The guacamole was good and so was the rice, but I felt they put a little to much of the rice in the burrito. More chicken would of been just grand, and it the ingredients were unevenly distributed. For example, the most of the rice was at one lower end of the burrito. The flour tortillas was good and they lightly toast the exterior to help keep the ingredients inside. The pinto bean were really good. They arrived piping hot in their little container and the beans themselves were tender and flavorful. The juice they came in was well seasoned, but I still added some of the salsa from the salsa bar to give them a kick. Good pinto beans. Service was nice. They young lady who took my order was also the person who put the burrito together. They have a good salsa bar, but it needed some TLC when I came in and also the restrooms could of used some cleaning. Solid 3.5.

I love this place! The flavor is so much better than pollo loco. The chicken is always really good, I love their sides and salsa. I recently tried their salad bowl(shell) and they are delish, just like the chicken combos. Every time we go, the chicken is always very fresh.

After eating at their Otay location a few weeks ago, I decided to stop in and pick up dinner a few nights ago. The Otay location was much cleaner than this place(and the place had no one in there but me!). To the left of the register, there are tables that were super clean(probably because of how bright and sunny that side was). To the right of the register were more tables, however, many of them were dirty and looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in a while. I decided to pick the«clean» side after I ordered my food from the cashier. The chicken I ordered arrived within a short amount of time and was just as good as their Otay location. It was juicy and tasted fresh. My only disappointment was that they don’t serve tamarindo to drink like some of their other locations. I would think that all of their restaurants would have the same menu and serve the same thing. Oh well. I would still go back and look forward to taking my wife there one of these days.

I was here a few months ago. I got like a 2 pc meal something like that but the chicken was so small and dry I order it with a side of frys and potatoe salad. And to my surprise the potatoe salad smell rotten and looked weird. I told the cashier and she tell me I dont know. I will give you something else. Then she ask’s the cook and tell him the girl said the salad smell bad he smells it and says I dont know. Wow so do they even know what they r selling. I am never coming back here again. At least I know everything is fresh in pollo loco.

I recently ate at Super Pollos but was but was unsatisfied with their portion of arrachera steak given to me. The picture speaks for itself. Also they put the tortillas directly on top of the steak so by the time I got home the tortillas had become soggy. Should have wrapped them up separately.

Love this place… They use soy oil and nothing contains pork… I’m exited cuz I’m allergic to pork… And most places use pork lard. Staff should be a little happier but the food is good and tasty…

This was my second time coming to this place. First time their credit card machine wasn’t working so I had to walk across the street and get lunch from the taco shop. I was really disappointed but understanding enough to know it happens. I finally decided to try them again today and I left highly disappointed. I ordered #9 The First Bowl? The rice and beans are salty and there wasn’t very much chicken. The customer service was seriously slacking, to me they came off as rude… that or they just don’t know how to multi-task and give a smile every now and again. I did finally get a smile after she kindly thanked me for waiting twenty minutes for my food. –_– Thanks but no thanks.

My family and I went hoping it would taste like real Mexican grilled chicken. I don’t consider El Pollo Loco real! Both times I’ve gone, the chicken is pre-grilled and watery. Like they grill it and put it in chicken broth all day, only to re-grill it once its ordered. The red, fresh, tomato salsa is delicious! I was walking out and decided the guy(looked like a manager maybe, short Mexican, Juan Gabriel look alike) should know how delicious the salsa is. So I went back to tell him. He didn’t even have the decency to look at me and responded as he looked straight ahead towards the street«Thank you». There were no other customers in the restaurant. He just did not want to look at me for some reason that I can’t figure out why. I thought he was very rude and made me feel unwanted. So I will NEVER go back, and will tell all family and friends to stay away. Maybe he’s just unhappy with his job, or life. Terrible experience.

I ordered the 2 piece and got a breast and wing. The flavor was OK. El Pollo Loco is much better. The wing was so tiny. The sides orders I got were rice and beans. The beans were OK but the rice was a little dry. They have a 2 piece option for breast and wing or leg and theigh. But not the same option for a 3 piece. I thought it was strange that they only offer 2 theighs and 1 leg. The place was clean though. I don’t think I’ll be back unless I’m really hungry and I have no other options. They may have open the same year(1975) as El Pollo Loco in Mexico but they are leaps and bounds behind them.

Chicken was flavorful and juicy. I like it better than El Pollo Loco but I like Pollo Don Pepe off Coronado Avenue better. Service was good and the restaurant was clean.

People over exagerate sometimes! Their chicken deserves five stars! Seriously, it’s not the best chicken in the world but it’s better than Pollo Loco, it’s fresher and tastes better. I’m glad my husband and I found this place. Who cares about the restaurant appearance btw? I go there for the food!

I used to like this place, but the last two times I’ve gone, it’s been a total disaster! The guy that works the register is rude and comes across very arrogant. Today, he left me standing in line and turned his back without even greeting me or telling me that he would be right with me. I then had to wait around 20 minutes for them to complete my order. I got home to discover that they had mixed up my order with someone else’s, because it was not even close to what I wanted. Rude guy at the register, long delay, wrong order = last time I ever eat there. It used to be good, now it’s a waste.

This place is the worst! We went in the other night and ordered the two piece chicken meal, it came with two chicken legs that were the size of a pigeon leg… it was ridiculous… Nothing special, waste of money, we will not be back. It’s too bad, we were hoping for chicken like the chicken we get down in Baja… Here is a tip… SAVEYOURMONEYANDGOTOPOLLODONPEPE’s off of coronado ave…

My family and I gave this restaurant a try and all agreed, we won’t be going back! The chicken was good, not better than any other grilled chicken restaurant, but the sides were horrible. We tried the beans, potato salad, and rice. The rice was dry, beans were flavorless, and the potato salad was just plain bad. I’ve never had worse potato salad! The service was slow, but friendly. The restaurant clean and easily accessable. That’s about all it had going for it.

El Pollo No-no. I very much wanted to like this place, as grilled chicken is squarely in the crosshairs when I aim at a reasonably low-calorie lunch. Together two of us ordered the 8-piece Family Meal, which comes with two large sides. The verdict: The chicken: So-so. It didn’t taste grilled. There wasn’t much flavor. The sides: The green salad was wet. The sliced tomato was only flirting with the color pink. It was nowhere near ripe. I don’t know what those two small containers of pinkish liquid were for. It sorta tasted like thousand island dressing, but the consistency was much different. It was so-so on the green salad. It didn’t seem like anything you’d put on chicken, and last time I checked it wasn’t customary to drench potato salad in dressing. On that topic: The potato salad didn’t taste bad, but like the chicken it didn’t have much flavor at all. The place is very clean, and the service is friendly, but this may just be the only time that I prefer the chain-restaurant version of a food genre. That’s as rare as a unicorn finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

This joint is better than pollo loco. I ordered a 3 piece chicken with 2 sides for $ 6.50 or so. It came with a drumstick and 2 thighs. I thought I would get a breast with it so that I could see if they knew how to cook chicken. The acid test of a restaurant cooking good chicken is IF they can cook a chicken breast and not dry it out to death. 99% of all restaurants will overcook their chicken and it will be dry. Maybe they game me the dark meat so that it wouldn’t be dry. Anyway, the chicken was actually pretty good and just slightly overcooked for dark meat but it still retained some juicy quality to it. They give you two sides and I ordered some fries and rice. The fries were just your very ordinary frozen fries, nothing to write home about at all. My friend ordered the beans and liked them as they were quite soft. The rice was just ok also and a small portion. Overall this is a decent place and better than pollo loco.

The food items go at a similar price rate compared to El Pollo Loco, but at a better quality. Menu contains charbroiled chicken, chicken flautas, chicken hamburgers and much more for the chicken aficionados. I was satisfied with the customer service and the chicken’s flavor. I would mos def come to this joint again. A plus: they were first founded in 1975 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, so they know their ish!
