Superior Cuts Barbershop

Aaron and Lawrence are hands down the best barbers in this shop. Their customer service is on point, and they do a great job with kids. The barbers are friendly, professional, and have a level of attention to detail that many other barbers can’t seem to achieve. If you’re looking to get a regular haircut, or you need one for a special occasion — I wouldn’t look any further than this highly skilled team of professionals. They set the bar for what the perfect haircut looks like.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: men are pickier than women when in comes to haircuts! With that being said, my husband was REALLY happy with how our toddler’s haircut turned out. In fact, he said it was the «best fade» my son ever received.
Our barber is from NY, I totally forgot his name. But, he was really good with our son, and our son even fell asleep during the haircut.
My main complaint is that the conversations held in this barber shop aren’t kid friendly. A lot of the barbers were even cursing. Thankfully, my son didn’t seem to know what they were talking about. But, I would be reluctant to take my son in when he’s older.
The 4 stars is for our barber. If you’re looking for a men’s barber shop to talk shop, come here. If you have small children, just beware.

Let me preface this by saying that you can not lump all barbers from any shop together. You will find barbers that are dedicated to their craft, to others that do the minimum just like in any other specialty or business.
My review is based solely on my barber for the past two years. Hopefully you are fortunate to find a barber like him.

My cut can be a bit of a hastle, not because of the style but how my hair grows and the inconsistency of having a ‘cow lick’. By my third visit Mike already knew exactly what I wanted. He does not cut everyone with the same cookie cutter. He understands that my fade should not look like the 16 year old’s that just jumped out of his seat.
My cut always looks the same unless I provide different direction. Consistency is hard to find because depending on whether you are the first cut, last or arrive mid-​day when a barber has not been able to take a lunch, your cut can vary. I will be the first to agree that as a customer we should not have to worry about whether a barber is hung over, in a hurry or hungry. I can speak for myself in that I never have to worry about that with Mike.
He is always put together and his work area is well taken care of.
He understands the concept of tactful conversation. The effort is always made to engage in meaningful discussions.
By my second visit I new I had found a barber I could trust. He provided me his number and I have been here by appointment since. Come in and see for yourself.

I came in the other day for a beard line up, they took me right away, i told the barber how I liked my beard just wanted the sides squared that was it nothing else!
What a mistake coming here. the barber was literally digging in my skin so hard almost like scooping ice cream out of a box, I have sensitive skin, my face was on fire and beat red, the barber was standing on opposite sides to line up my beard which doesn’t make sense you need to stand in the middle in order to make sure both sides are correct, of coarse one side was different than the other, I wanted a full beard and they kept taking more and more off, then they started lining me up on the sides of my hair and I said to the barber I didn’t want that im trying to grow my hair out and they seemed to have an attitude they just said ‘mhm’ and did it anyway
then the barber started to fade the sides of my hair! I was like what is going on, I couldn’t see anything because i was faced away from the mirror
my face is still red 2 days later and burns when I use face wash I have never experienced this before at a barbershop. This person needs to learn how to razor a mans beard correctly, and listen to the client.

Ask for Adrian! Awesome haircuts on kids. My son feels comfortable and always gets a clean cut and a lollipop too. All Barbers here are exceptionally professional.

This place is legit! They used a straight razor to give me that skin tight fade! Located on the second floor in the Chula Vista mall.

I come to this establishment bright and early three barbers there, one is cutting another’s hair, and the other his phone. So I’m waiting they see me I asked how long is the wait they tell me 15 min. So I wait. 15 mins. Pass 2 step outside and start smoking weed. I ask another man that cuts hair and ask if he can only cut my side’s he says they have appointments I’m like guys here smoking you guys don’t want $ 20 what you guys charge me on a regular day. I left upset whatever

Been coming here for years. The vibe of the place is chill and the barber’s conversations are hilarious. Every barber here cuts very well, never had any complaints. Of course it’s better to make an appointment but that’s only good when your a regular. But even if you wait, it’s not that long. There’s at at least 5 or more barbers at a time so it moves along faster than you think. I would suggest coming during the middle of the week or a Monday. It can be busy Friday’s and Saturdays. Give them a try if your looking for a new place to get a haircut.

I believe this spot to be one of the original barber shops in the southbay that really kicked off the movement with the barber game before all these other shops arrived .Ive been a loyal customer for years and been to all there shops every barber they hire is skilled to perfection you dont need to be picking around here. I also enjoy the fun friendly atmosphere.

I’m surprised they have very lil reviews! This place is the go to place if you want your man looking fly! My fiancé has been coming here for a few years now and he rather look scruffy and wait on an appointment with Carlos then go anywhere else! It’s a real chill place usually I would hate to sit around and wait about a hr for him to get his hair cut but there’s never a dull moment here. The staff is always super chill and always bullshitting so it’s a good laugh!

I was very happy with the service and my cut the first time I went there. The 2^nd time I had to wait quite a while, people who got there after me seemed to go before me, and the barber wasn’t quite as good. I also think they need to accept debit… It’s 2014… who carries cash?

This is the place to go to get whatver hair design, cut, fade you are looking for. Roy is very precise, professional barber. He takes his time on his cuts and makes sure you walk out of there looking good. Jerry is also a true professional. they have years of experience cutting hair, and I’ve had my hair cut by them for over a decade.
Hair is something many people take pride in, and this is a place to make sure you walk out confident and knowing that your cut looks fresh.

I have been going to this shop over 12 years now Jerry, Roy, Velo, biggie, Lawrence, Adrian, Carlos just to name a few of the top notch barbers I trust with not just myself but my 2 sons haircuts. They have a way to make u feel at home always got some kind of barber shop discussion going but respectful when need to be if children are present. To all the other comments about waiting, well all the barbers at this shop have earned and build a large clientele but they always have room for more it’s best to always make an appointment but even of I don’t the most u will wait is 10 – 15 mins. Check them out and u will become a long time customer …

It has been hard to fine quality barbers in this town, this places takes the cake. Excellent customer service, very knowledgable barbers, great atmosphere…
I take my 1 ½ year old to get a fresh cut here, and this will be only place I’ll take him too. Jonathan is a gem! He is so patient and not to mention a perfectionist. Every time my son and I go out he always gets compliments on his haircut! Ask for him and you will not be let down.

I have been taking my two year old since his first hair cut. These guys are so friendly and patient with kids, my son cries and moves around during his haircut every time and he still comes out with perfect hair. I always forget to ask for their names but all of them have done a great job. Heads up though, it’s cash only I forget every time and I’m always running to the ATM but not a big deal. Great job guys!

I’ve been a customer here for 10+ years. I love superior cuts. All the barbers are well knowledgeable and funny. I love that all the barbers take appointments and try to accommodate your schedule. Prices are fair and I love the atmosphere. Great for children all the way to seniors. Try it out.

Went a couple of times to get my son’s hair cut. This place is busy that was the only minus until I found Jonathan, great costumer service and he did amazing job on my son’s hair cut. My son always gets compliments on his fresh look.

I haven’t been to the shop in a couple of years however when I did I waited my turn like everyone else or was seen at the time of my scheduled appointment. Like I said this was 3 – 4 years ago maybe things are done differently now… Maybe barber’s have changed as well as the need for keeping clientele? I came here because they are outstanding in design’s and listening to what the customer wants when it comes down to getting a cut. They are up to date with the latest hair trends and it’s a happy loud upbeat barber shop that easily puts a smile on your face after sitting there for a few minutes. I’m not sure if thats a good thing but it can be compared to a high school classroom because that’s how the barber’s act … You have one of each the class clown, the serious one, the nerdy one, the grouchy one and the one that is everything in one.
So I had nothing but good experiences with my Baby boy they made him look even cuter! The prices are a bit high compared to other shops I guess, but then again some shops don’t offer Bolts and other cool designs so you be the judge of what looking good costs I paid $ 25 bucks for a 7yr old he got 2 bolts one on each side and a cut lined up etc. I was happy with the results each and every time So I’d go back if the need arises.
