I love Mexican food! After a recommendation from a friend my family and I took a trip to El Poblano. I’ve passed by it numerous times before but never popped in. I’m hooked to say the least! Nice spot in Chula Vista, I could see it getting real packed since they have a limited number of tables, but other than that, great experience. Love the family deals, great for parties!

Great tacos, good prices. The service is slow but ok. Bring your family and friends. The burritos are also good, try the carne asada one.

Omg this is our favorite taco spot!!! Best taco shop in the whole county!!! They only have carne asada, adobada, and birria!!! This tacos are so fresh and good all the time, we go here very often, maybe toooooooo often lol. We love to get their consome which is a soup from their birria meat that is so tasty and good for any hangover. Their prices are affordable and they’re never too packed. You can easily get a table quick. Go get tacos here!!!

Tacos are alright, girl behind the register could be a little more customer service oriented and get off her cell phone while pointing me with an attitude where to order my food. I wanted to order a drink first, but guess she’s to worried about her cell phone conversation over the customer service. Sucks!

a taco shop near Costco, Kmart, Regal, and Pepboys. Adequate parking near a busy costco intersection. The venue is small, but clean when I walked in. Tacos here are 2.00 each, but of you get the family order it is about 29.00 and you can get half adobada and half carne asada. The difference between adobada and carne asada is that the adobada has a sweet tangy taste. The restrooms are good for a fast food place, but may need some work. however, it is a great place to get tacos for the family. all in all I think tacos el gordo just down the street is a tad better.

Best tacos in Chula Vista/Estlake. The adobada and birria are particularly remarkable. Do yourself a favor and go there. The atmosphere is very Mexican and casual. When you get to the counter just talk to the cooks, as there are not waiters; otherwise you will be waiting for a while before someone notices you.

Lot of people rave about it, I’ll say they are good but nothing special, carne asana has too much grizzle for my taste.

Pleasantly surprised. Didn’t feel like fighting the tacos El Gordo crowd so we tried this place and it was good. My adobado was a little crispy but overall everything was good. Add pineapple and they’d be great.

I can’t believe I drove 46 miles round trip to this place for Carne Asada and Adobado tacos and a Carne Asada torta based on the reviews. Good thing this place wasn’t busy but when you stand in line the cooks tend to ignore you for a minute before taking your order. I noticed that the Adobado is cut from the spit then cooked for the second time. Making it even dryer. Their guacamole is not that good. Very bland and watered down but they drown all of my tacos with them. At first I thought that was a plus but it drowned out what flavor the meats had. I had to salt all my tacos to at least get some flavor. The guacamole had a weird taste to it. I ate the Carne Asada and Adobado taco looking for a explosion of flavors but there was very little of that. The Carne Asada lacked flavor and was dry and grissly. The Adobado was good but did lack some spice. The Carne Asada torta was not that great, Very dry grisly meat lacking flavor. Maybe it was an off day or they were slow and the food sat around and dried up but I am ok with that but the lack of flavor was not for me. I drove home but could not get that guacamole taste out of my mouth. Should have made a left at 805 exit and headed for TEG.

Nobody and I mean no other Mexican taco shop can beat this place in California. This place is our go to when we visit family in San Diego. Order the carne asada quesadilla«con todo» and a «caldito» on the side o and don’t forget the Mexican Coke. ABSOLUTELYTHEBEST!!!’

Tacos are alright. It’s as simple as that. No where near Tacos El Gordo caliber. I’m an Adobada fiend, so if your tacos lack the crunch and spicy bite, then you are a loser. That’s exactly how Tacos El Poblano’s adobada is. It also doesn’t help that they smother their tacos in a pound of guac. Seriously dilutes out all the other flavors. I would ask for it without the guac next time and opt to have it on the side. On a positive note, their Birria here is delicious and perfect for a cold evening. Prepare from some spice power though, it certainly does pack a punch. I couldn’t compare their adobada to my Tacos El Gordo adobada love, but I wouldn’t say their tacos are crap. Just make sure to ask for no guac when you get yours.

It gets one STARBCITDOESNOTALLOWMETOGIVENOSTAR … CARNEASADA Tacos where good … But not worth the wait or prize… size of TACOFOR $ 2? Unreasonable … It Should be 2 tacos for 1.99 … Birria? Not good, it had too much of a specific condiment(clove) I think … NONETHELESS, why come pay for awful service? awful … Never coming here again … You still craving carne asada tacos? I say make ur own or go to northgate, pancho villa market or even a taco shop place or continue Unilocaling for another place to get tacos. GREATFOODANDGREATCUSTOMERSERVICEGOHANDONHAND… I do not mind paying more then average for a taco if THECUSTOMER service ISGREAT. Tho if TACOSELPOBLANOWANTSTOCHARGE2.00 per taco then they should also consider helping there walk in customers quicker so the disappointment is not as devastating.

$ 2 sounds pretty reasonable if you are getting an average sized taco. These tacos are more like bite-sized, so you need 4 of them to equal an average sized taco. Not a lot of flavor in the meat and the guacamole was very bland. The bathrooms we’re filthy and the trash can was overflowing onto the floor. Definitely never coming back.

Ok, so I came for tacos but what sticks in my mind the most? Self.Serve.Horchata. Dang you folks in CV are fancy! All kidding aside, I love Horchata and to be able to just fill up my cup via the fountain drink station just totally made my day. Oh there are other agua frescas via the fountain station too and I was tickled pink… we need that here in CHI. The tacos? Get the goat – the most flavorful taco of the trio I sampled. Tender and juicy meat griddled to order and wrapped in double mini corn tortillas, topped with onion and cilantro. YUM! Carne Asada is 2nd best. Adobada was dry and disappointing. Mini salsa bar with containers so you can take your salsas to go too! Loved the smoky chipotle!

TEP is in the class I call«Boutique Taco Shops.» They have spits of meat and have no salsa bar. The expectations were high for this place and the best seller Adobada Taco. Well I had 4 of ‘em. Right away, I was not impressed by the service. One cook shouted across the restaurant as I was waiting in a chair for my tacos to be built. It seems he thought I should be standing up waiting for my tacos to be completed. Weird. The tacos themselves are small, wrapped in double corn tortillas. I always laugh at that old trick. Who does anyone think they’re fooling/filling w that! But the other weird thing was, that even w all the phony guacamole piled high on each one, there was a definite lack of flavor in these tacos. I kept searching for the flavor I expect w Mexican food like this. At Tacos el Gordo, not once has flavor gone MIA like this. Double weird. For $ 2/each, not cool. Finally, the place seems dingy & dirty. My shirt sleeve encountered some type of liquid on the table. The napkin holder was almost empty. The cashier was engrossed with his iPhone. Cooks were eating tacos behind the line. No pride or professionalism. And then, it’s near the costco and its gas station and all that traffic swarming about the tiny crowded parking lot out front. Sorry TEP, I really tried to like ya, but you lack basic manners & respect for the customer and give me no reason to come back. Tacos El Gordo or Las Cuatro Milpas earn my Taco Dollars every time. Two sombreros down.

These tacos are the real deal. They are like that taco stand you see on the side of the road in Baja. They are delicious and you know you will never be able to replicate at home. Don’t let the style of ordering throw you. Go up to the kitchen bar first and order. Sit and eat and enjoy! Then at the end as you leave you pay. Easy-peasy. I usually get the carne asada tacos or the carne asada quesadilla. If it is your first time, I suggest«dos carne asada tacos con todos.» You will be in heaven.

This place has the best Birria De Rez in SD hands down! And there tacos De Carne Asada are waaaay better then Tacos El Gordo. When ordering the Birria Caldo If you don’t like a lot of chile tell them no chile cuz the Birria Caldo is already a little spicy. And the cooks are fast & real cool. This place is me & my son’s fav spot to eat to spend some father & son time. We met Adrain Gonzalez(baseball player) here one day, talked baseball over a taco. And it’s always clean here & friendly.

Lo mejor en tacos, tacos estilo Tijuana. Gracias por evitarnos 3 horas de cola por un antojo. Adobada, Birria lo mejor.
