This place has gone downhill! We come here with the kids a few times a year as its always the kids first choice as a reward for good report cards etc, so yesterday we went as an end of the year treat. The waitress was friendly but that’s where it ended. On our past visits, our meals were always plentiful, to the point where I couldn’t finish them. Yesterday, our meals were sparse. I ordered pot roast with carrots, corn and mashed potato w/gravy. I got a small bit of fat with a little pot roast, 5 carrots, mashed potatoes so old and cold that they came apart in chunks, and the biscuits and cornbread weren’t the big, fluffy ones that they used to serve. We could’ve played baseball with these suckers… they were that hard and tiny. My husband and I both ordered salads, which came after our meal. I had to ask where they were or they may not have come at all. The only time we were offered a drink refill was upon leaving. The manager did come around and when he saw that our salads weren’t touched as we were eating, he asked if they came out after our meals and told us we wouldn’t be charged for them and gave me a free desert, which was very nice of him. He was very nice and apologetic. I did ask for new mashed potatoes and the new ones were better, too. Honestly, yes they tried to make it right, which was very appreciated but if they’ve changed their meals to such sparse servings, and the quality isn’t as good, then it’s not worth going back. It’s not worth paying the same price for poor and less quality meals. Although, I should note that my son ordered a burger and fries and had no complaints. The burger was huge and he got a plate full of hot fries. The two stars reflect that but everything else was just awful. Not that they will miss us any but we won’t be going back.

Multiple times we have ordered take out from this restaurant. The last time they messed up so bad they gave us a certificate for two free meals. Well today we tried again. Ordered campfire beef got chicken got 3 carrots 1 potato no onions and 1 tomato. The salads all came with wrong dressing and got corn muffins when asked for biscuits. Spoke to manager Honestly what could they do after multiple mistakes there is no fixing this. The desserts we asked for the ice cream separate and it was not. Well soggy cobbler is no good. To top all of this off it is Mother’s Day my wife cannot travel due to her health. Don’t order take out.

I like this place. Though I’d caution anyone thinking of having chicken tenders, they’re not breaded so the kids(and adults) may be disappointed… But darn near everything else I’ve tried here is consistently good. Friendly wait-staff, quick seating etc. All in all AOK.

Went to CB a few days before Christmas for a late morning breakfast. Service– as it always has been when we visit this location– was spot on and attentive. Food is down home country style cooking. Biscuits with gravy, thick bacon, grits, oatmeal– stuff that sticks to your sides on a cold winters day. Fireplace was roaring and the kids live to wander the country store gift shop when we finish. Food is not overly priced either. Will return again soon.

I love the Cracker Barrel! The ambiance is great this time of year! I love the huge fireplace! Always warm and welcoming. There is always a group of 20 or so that meet around 9:30PM or 10:00 on Friday nights. The server is always sweet and efficient. The food comes out fresh and in a timely manner given how many people they have to serve. The Cracker Barrel gives me a lil’ bit of a taste of my 15 years living in NC.

Great place to have a brunch. The hash brown casserole is great choice. Their biscuits are so fluffy and buttery. The food is tasty and store décor is historic. After u have the meal, u also can bring some souvenir back to home.

While traveling we stop always stop at Cracker Barrel and have never been disappointed! This location was our first! The restaurant seemed poorly run. We had to wait for seating, but upon walking through the restaurant there were numerous tables empty but in need of clearing. The dining room appeared unkept as the floor was also in need of at least picking up! We were there for dinner specifically for the meatloaf and they were out of it! This was at 6PM! Dinner portions were sparse, but tasty. Our server was attentive. We may give it another try in hopes that this was just a bad night!

O m g. I was so excited to visit cracker barrel and so disgusted with the results. The food tasted like a sodium filled TV dinner. I tried the Mac and Cheese and the country fried steak… Never again!

I just live it here. The food is consistent at ever store I have ever been to. It’s just good southern comfort food and not necessarily healthy but dang good. I have not been since I moved to Cali do it was on the top of my list when I went back east.

I went here on Easter Sunday(2015) for a early dinner. We were told the wait to be seated would be 30 mins, it was a little longer but not by much. There was 3 in my party. The waiter was right over to take our drink order. I had never been to CB before so it took me a few minutes to look over all of the options to choose from. After we placed our order it took about 15 mins to get out food, and it was HOT! The mashed potatoes even melted the butter! My only complaint about the food was that the broccoli was rubbery

I’m conflicted between giving this 3 or 4 stars. It’d be 3.5 if I could. Cracker Barrel is pretty gimmicky which makes it a bit odd for me. I like the store aspect of it and they nailed the feel of the Old Country Store. Food is average, service is average. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Bring your kids here and you’ll end up having to buy some silly toy from the store, but the kids will be very happy. So to each their own. Try it out, see for yourself!

Nice place for a family style mask, Carol is one of my favorite severs and always make sure things come out right I’ve noticed over the last few months the portion size seems to be getting smaller,.not sure if that’s by design or just the cook. Also good often doesn’t come out hot, for some reason they can’t seemed to scramble an egg

The waitress Carol is the best. She is no nonsense and if your order isn’t right, she will make sure. She’s pleasant, through and a joy to have! Great job Cracker Barrel!

Decent and solidly consistent chain, perfect as a reliable choice when traveling on the highway, and this location continues that tradition. I like the breakfast any time option and the dinner offerings have enough variety to provide something for most folks. This is maybe the only place where you can be sure to find catfish on the menu. Heck that is three stars right there, add on the veggie side dishes and cold root beer for a good dinner. They also have some of the best(IMO) breakfast options going. While not a cheap as McDs or any other drive through, it is more enjoyable for my money. Service was prompt and efficient. Reasonably priced.

The food is fair. A cut above Denny’s. The country ham was awful. The sawmill gravy was milk and flour-no taste. My eggs were undercooked. Biscuits were fresh. Didn’t touch the grits which are a staple. On a scale of 1 – 10 this is a 4. They are doing something right, the place was packed. I’ve been here for lunch. Lunch was good. I’ll try it again down the road when we go up north.

Pork chops tough enough to wear as shoes, grits like elementary school glue, salads of brown iceberg lettuce, meat and butter in pretty much everything but the desserts. It astonishes me how this chain does the business that it does. Despite the high calories, everything is remarkably bland. I realize the clientele they’re shooting for isn’t exactly the foodie set, but c’mon! Stepping into a Cracker Barrel is a lot like stepping into a McDonald’s: you are hit point-blank with dozens of examples of what’s wrong with America, and why there’s an obesity epidemic. Many Americans wouldn’t know quality food even if Anthony Bourdain dragged them along on a trip with him. This place is great if you’re stoned, drunk, or have no taste whatsoever. We stopped here for the same reason lots of people stop at places like this: it’s along the highway and we’re hungry travelers. But frankly, I would’ve sooner gone to McDonald’s. Our bill would’ve been $ 20 less and the food would’ve actually had some flavor.

Why is it when you order soup the meal comes before your done. So then you have too rush and not enjoy it. I order the chop steak dinner which the steak was awful. I think I remember years ago they used to make it with fresh beef but this was differently frozen. The whole meal come plain. I was not offer gravy or sauce and the mash potatoes came plain. Had to ask for more butter. I notice over the past 5 years the Cracker Barrel has been going down hill. Personally I probably never going too go to another one.
