First visit and highly impressed. I love the atmosphere. The service is excellent everyone was patient with us asking questions and putting together our selections. They offered suggestions and a sample of the most amazing ravioli. We each ordered a small portion of a few different items and shared. Amazed at how good everything was. Not just one or two things… EVERYTHING was excellent. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

My brother works in Berwyn and we were looking for a spot to grab lunch yesterday. OMG Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious!!! I had the cheese ravioli, eggplant w/veal and broccoli spinach mix. Finished w/Tiramisu sorbet and went home happy. The pizza looked really good too. I’ll try that when I return. The staff was very patient with all of my ‘what’s this & that’ and were very welcoming in their establishment. Thank you.

This is the best place to get true authentic Italian food. All fresh, all homemade, to die for. If you can’t appreciate this, go back to Olive Garden. I haven’t had a dish I didn’t like, try it ALL! It’s a must. My one and only complaint, cash only, but hey I get it. Won’t stop me from ever going. It’s very hectic in there too, so be prepared! But totally worth the wait. Enjoy!

Freddy’s pizza can’t be beat. It can be really overwhelming inside for newbies, but come prepared for a crowd and have a thought in your head about what you want, and you’ll be fine. Their margarita thin crust pizza is the best around, the thick pizza slices are also great, and the pasta dishes are all wonderful, so fresh! Be sure to try the potato croquettes — mashed potatoes, mozzarella, lightly breaded and fried. WHAT’S NOTTOLOVE. Cash only and parking can be tight! But it’s all worth it!

I can’t even… order anything and have a seat next door. Amazing home style Italian grandma food. Their marinara sauce made my eyes roll back in my head. The eggplant melts in your freakin’ mouth. Sorry, I have to go take a cold shower now.

The Best. The food, the atmosphere and the staff. It was more than just flavor, it was an experience. Pizza Margarita was great. Ravioli great. Chicken Limone(?), Gelato, Italian Ice, Pepperoni Bread… everything was GREAT! Thinking of a reason to drive through Cicero now just to go back.

An abundance of fantastic Italian food at this busy, quaint establishment. Since I grew up in the Cicero/Berwyn area, I am very familiar with Freddy’s. It is one of the best, most authentic Italian cuisine. My favorites are the arranchis, Chicken Marsala, Italian ice(the best ever) and the gelato. The artichokes, salads and pastas are fresh and tasty. I can’t wait to come back!

Yes, yes, and yes! As a transplant from the east coast, it is rare for me to enjoy thin crust pizza in Chicago. However, Freddy’s manages to satisfy every time. They will customize any pizza(I sometimes order half with veggies and no cheese). I’ve also enjoyed their homemade artichokes and their salads. No– there is no delivery, but trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed.

My wife has her clinic near by and o was super hungry so I decided to Unilocal a pizza place. Came here and I was blown away by the ravioli and pizza and to top it off, the brioche gelato dessert was outstanding! I really wish I knew about this place earlier, I am planning to visit it more often and during the summer I bet the outdoor seating will be awesome.

I love Freddys! I’ve been eating here since I was a kid. I’ve never ever had a bad meal or experience. My favorite dish is the porchetta sandwich and potatoes. Oh God it’s so delicious! Other must tries: chicken limone, focaccia, pizza, penne, and the Italian sub. I don’t eat fish, but my dad raves about their seafood salad if you’re into that. Also, do yourself a favor and buy a loaf of the pepperoni bread and eat half of it on your drive home. Don’t forget to bring cash, no credit cards here.

My favorite restaurant that is less than a few blocks away from my house(aren’t I lucky?) there is nothing on the menu that isn’t delicious. Now I’m just waiting for the warmer months to roll around so that I can get gelato and not be judged haha!

Favorite restaurant. They have the best arancinis, chicken marsala, and biscott gelatto. Everything is great but these are some of my favorites.

I had the Neapolitan Pizza, My friends really liked the rappini and beans which is saying something. I must force my friends and I to go back for the gelato which I have seen is very recommended. I’ve been meaning to try it for literally years, just getting around to it. I know that there are many more flavors to enjoy there. Just can’t wait! Okay so I also had the Lasagna. Not bad, a little dry, I just wonder what happened to the ricotta cheese? I’m sure I will be eating it for days– generous portion and I like that. I’ve just made it many times before and I know what makes a good, gooey cheesy Lasagna. This isn’t it unfortunately. Hey I would not be so picky if I didn’t know how to make it myself. And I am in no means down on the place. Looking forward to the Gelato! A very hectic place, very nice people, nice atmosphere. I will be back and soon.

Are you kidding me? Freddy’s is an institution. You will not find a single thing to eat there that isn’t delicious. My favorites are their Italian beef, which is probably among the best in Chicagoland the pepperoni bread, and the chicken Marsala. I’ve been eating Marsala at every restaurant in Chicago and I’ve never found one better, The pizza is great. The gelato is wonderful. The sausages are amazing… I brought my Dad there when he was visiting from California and fell in love with the place. The owner actually took the time to chat with him and talk about the food. He even posed for a picture with my Dad! Now every time he comes out to visit the first place we eat at for dinner is Freddy’s.

I love this little neighborhood grocery and eatery. It’s jammed with Italian food and the counter with prepared food is always packed with people waiting for the deliciousness. We have ordered from the prepared food and have eaten our selections at the tables in the adjoining room. They have outdoor tables as well with heaters for cooler days. The only negative is that this place does not have a bathroom that I could find for an eatery. That is a must for a restaurant! My favs are their breads, fish salad, chicken limone among a few. We have bought groceries here, as well as eaten on the premises. Don’t forget a gelato or Italian ice on your way out!

I’m giving this place a three because the kid who served us was not nice. He had an attitude and could not handle a busy Saturday lunch crowd. The food was by far a ten however all I can remember is his bad mood.

Crazy good old school comfort food. Counter service only, but there’s an enclosed space with a bunch of picnic tables attached to the small corner store like space. Casual, fast food. Loved the ravioli and their meatballs. Really cheap and delicious– totally perfect neighborhood spot.

My only wish is that I have discovered this place sooner. It is such a neat place to grab lunch and the food is absolutely delicious! Once you get past the cramped space, large crowd, parking challenges and deciding what to order, you will be fine. I went in on the recommendation of a friend, so I had a general idea of a few things I wanted to try. As I stood there placing my order, I chose a few more items because I was drawn to them when looking at the display case. When you place an order inside as opposed to being served in the seating area outside, you will more than likely enter and see several other people ahead of you. Do not let it bother you, there are lots of workers and within a minute or so, you will be standing like the others holding space waiting on your order. If you order items to go, you are given the option of having it warmed. Of the items I tried, I instantly fell in love with the salami salad, Italian sausage with potatoes and peppers and the risotto. They were total show stoppers. So much so that I was tempted to return for more on the same day. It is just that good. Lucky for you, you do not have to take my word for it. You can try some of this goodness yourself.

Woohoo! Freddy’s Pizza is as good as it gets! My parents have been coming here for a long time, especially when they were kids living in Oak Park nearby(even though Freddy’s is technically located in north Cicero). I had somehow never come here before except for to pick up a catering order of pasta for my eighth grade graduation party. Let’s just say some time has passed since then. As fate would have it, Freddy’s was on my way back from a half day at work, smack dab in the middle of lunch time. My dad picked me up that day and he tried leftover pizza from Stella Barra, a pizza place in Lincoln Park in the city. He explained that it was okay, but kind of doughy. «You want to know really good pizza? Freddy’s,» he said. This is how our adventure began. We ordered the margherita pizza slices, which were pretty big! There were plenty of people there who looked like teachers on their lunch break from some of the nearby schools. We sat down on the outside patio(which is covered from the elements – score!). My dad even ran into one of his old Oak Park/Cicero friends from elementary school. Because it’s a small world and everyone loves Freddy’s, right? I’ve also had the hazelnut gelato, which was fantastic and highly recommended. I want to try more flavors! We also ordered a bunch of food from Freddy’s for my brother’s college graduation party, since everyone loves Freddy’s so much. The only reason I bumped it down to four stars is because of our experience ordering food from here. The guy who took my dad’s order kept trying to convince my dad to order more food, even though my dad explained that we had plenty of other food and that this food was just supplementing what we already had to give guests a wider spread from which to choose. The guy made comments like, «Your guests are going to go to bed hungry unless you order more.» That really leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the customer service there; pushy people really rub me the wrong way. If you were wondering, my dad did not cave to pressure and ordered exactly what he was originally intending(which was already a lot). We ended up with leftovers that lasted several days after the party! All in all, of course I will continue to recommend Freddy’s. I still think it’s the absolute gem of Cicero and is well worth a visit for anyone in the area.

Freddy’s– the kind of place you would expect a guy like Tony Soprano to be hanging out at. But Freddy’s appeals to anyone who likes good quality, classic italian food. My family has been bringing home Freddy’s Italian ice for years– it’s just the best there is. But don’t go there just for that… Freddy’s has some of the best italian classics and quick bites in the entire city. Recently had their caprese salad, gnocchi, chicken Marsala, and hazelnut chocolate gelato. Amazing! Warning– If it’s your first time there, it can def be overwhelming. It’s a small counter and the food/menus are scattered behind it. But trust me when I say that there is NO bad choice here! Stinks that they don’t accept credit cards, so make sure you’ve got $$ on hand.

CASH only It’s a catering, take-out, counter service. A neighborhood place, no trek necessary. A la carte dishes except for pizza and pasta. Comparable pricing to River North establishment. $ 12 – 15 pp with drink. ITALIANBEEF(or beef sandwich) — 8−9″ bread. Decent amount of beef with hot and sweet peppers(extra cost). DINE-INEXPERIENCE — walk up steps, order from counter, select from pre-made food, microwaved, food on tray, given to patron. Go out, walk down steps, open next door for seating. VENUE — tight seating area is separate with its own set of doors and wall. Ordering more food or getting gelato is cumbersome in winter. GELATO — the best hazelnut I’ve ever had. Hours later, I still dreamed of Hazelnut Gelato. I look forward to Tiramisu.
