As You Like It Salon

Being new to the area, I was in search of a salon I could trust. Babs gave me such a great cut! She also told me that if I didn’t like my cut after a couple of days, I could always come back and she would fix it at no additional cost. My cut is perfect so there’s no need to go back just yet… but I will be back the next time I need a cut again!

The hair cuts and color here are fabulous. Great prices. Beautiful setting. Babs, the owner, makes this place remarkable. She hires the greatest staff. Today I had Brittany. She talked to me about the right way to lowlight my (overbleached by myself and the summer) hair and how she’d like to cut my hair. My husband told me I looked twenty years younger when I got home. Even my TEENAGER noticed how good I looked when I came home.
I love the way Babs gives this place an atmosphere. The Mt Adams setting is beautiful and the way you can get your hair done, then shop and get together with friends or head over to the Art Museum is fun.
It’s easy to get an appointment, and you feel pampered and happy and beautiful when you leave and are always smiling. What could be better? My 25-​year-​old son loves getting HIS hair cut here because he thinks the staff is not only great at cutting hair but extremely good looking!

I had never been to a salon to get a haircut, but I decided I would give it a go. It’s absolutely worth it at As You Like it Salon! I’m easy going about my hair which is problematic for many stylists at _​_​_​_​Clips. They continue to ask me what I want. Babs was able to give a great haircut knowing that I wanted something simple, shorter, and low maintenance. This ended up being the best looking haircut I’ve ever gotten. She is truly an expert and willing to go the extra mile to make you happy. Babs is also a great conversationalist who is caring and intelligent. I have decided that it’s worth the small amount of extra money to enjoy the experience and get a hair cut from someone who cares. I left there feeling great and smiling. If you’ve never had a proper hair cut, give it a go at this salon. Trying to get a cheap cut at a chain haircut place just isn’t worth it. As a regular guy who doesn’t care all that much about his hair, this experience has made me a believer in getting a quality cut. The experience is much more relaxing, the stylist is more in tune to you, and the cut is far better.

Babs, the owner, gave me a great cut and style today. I told her I wanted to grow out my hair (after my last stylist got a little too excited with the scissors), so she showed me exactly how much she would trim. I felt like she really listened to what I was asking for — hence, «as you like it» :)
Before my appointment, I redeemed a $ 50 voucher from Unilocal that cost me $ 35. It was a great deal and an even better experience. Babs is such a sweet lady. I’m looking forward to going back in a few months.

Babs, the owner of the salon, really understand hair and how to work with it. More importantly she is very in tune with what the customer wants and listens to what you say instead of just doing what she thinks you should do! She is very easy to talk to and makes you feel both comfortable and like you’re the most important person there (not like she just waiting for the next person to walk in!) The prices for the services rendered are extremely reasonable! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her (and her salon) to anyone I know… even the pickiest of people. She has your best interest at heart and knows her profession well.

I’ve been going to As You Like It for haircuts & brow waxing for about 1 ½ years now. I much prefer the local atmosphere of this place over the stuffy over priced salon and spas. They do a great job fitting me in — super flexible. I have been with both Babs and Hannah and they both listen, do a beautiful job, make great conversation, and excellent service — all for very reasonable prices! I highly recommend anyone in the area give them a try.

I love going to Hannah at As You Like It. I always feel great about my haircut and almost always receive compliments on it. Hannah is also one of the nicest people I know, which is a plus.

Hannah was the first stylist I tried out when I moved to Cincinnati and I absolutely fell in love. I could not think of going to another stylist anywhere in the city. She is an amazing person and an even better hair stylist. She always cuts my hair just perfectly.

I had been going to Great Clips for the past 10 years, never happy, but always assumed a salon was for women only. Well, I took the plunge and went where the Unilocal suggested, As You Like It. It was so great. Babs is well educated and does a great job and great at keeping conversation. Gone are the days where I sit in awkward silence with a woman (I’ll never see again) cutting my hair. Babs offered a decent discount for being a student and it’s a great deal, considering I get a cut and shampoo for $ 20, where a haircut alone at Great Clips is $ 15! I left there in a good mood and with a great haircut. Men, Babs has a great deal of expertise in men’s hair, don’t be scared away because it’s a ‘salon’.

I’ve always had trouble getting good haircuts, so once I find a good stylist, I tend to stick with him/​her until life intervenes. In fact, when I moved to Cincinnati from Oregon, I actually timed my return visits to coincide with when I might need a cut. True story!
Finally, though, my days of $ 500 haircuts are over. I tried As You Like It because they’d offered a Groupon, and I figured I didn’t have too much to lose. Well, I got really lucky here. Hannah gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had, and even styled/​straightened my hair into an unexpectedly cute ‘do. On top of all that, she was a blast to talk to, making the time pass by in a breeze.
I’d recommend As You Like It, and Hannah, to anyone in the city! She did a great job on my hair, which is crazy wavy and curly and generally a huge pain for hair stylists. I’ll be back!

As you like it is awesome. It’s located up on the hill in Mt. Adams, and is a tiny, friendly space. I’ve gone to way too many fancy-​schmancy salons that charge a lot and offer very little, As You Like It is not that salon. Currently they only have two stylists, owner Babs and Hannah. Babs is delightful and knows everyone; every time I’ve gone she has been chatting up customer after customer. It creates the kind of locally run atmosphere I can really get behind.
The atmosphere is not where the awesomeness stops though. Hannah’s hair-​styling abilities are fantastic. I can be super picky about my hair, and have on more than one occasion asked a hair dresser to not even bother blow drying me out since I would rather go home and style it myself. This is not Hannah. I love to experiment with color and shape, and every time I go I bring a picture of what I’m thinking. Hannah not only cuts my some what unruly, curly hair into the perfect shape, she also manages to coax it into the exact look of whatever celebrity I’ve chosen that month. I’m actually worried about posting this review because I would hate for it to be harder for me to get an appointment with her, but she totally deserves all this praise and more. She also does a great job with guys hair if my bbf (best boyfriend) is any indication.
I wish that I could speak as glowingly of Babs haircutting ability but I have only ever had my hair done by Hannah. But, Babs does have a never ending parade of clients walking through the door, many of whom she seems to have known since they were babies. She also owns this fine establishment so I have to believe she also does an amazing job.
Long story short, go get your hair did here. You won’t regret it.
