Got the holy guacamole and they were out of guac. I was so hungry and really looking forward to that sandwich… With guac on it. This actually is not the first time this happened either. I guess it could be worse and be the reverse… Too much sitting around too long. Idk for the price, I was disappointed.

Let me start by saying that I didn’t even know you could get cream cheese in that many flavours, let alone bagels! We don’t have anything like this sort of place in Scotland, so a visit to Big Apple Bagels is always a treat. The bagels are always fresh and tasty, and the service efficient and friendly. Good value too. Definitely a place that would be on my regular breakfast stop if I lived in the area.

Caveat-I have only eaten their breakfast and it’s only been curry out. This is a great place to grab breakfast on the way to work in the morning. The coffee is hot and they have six varieties to choose from. Both the muffins and their bagels are good. They do put a little too much cream cheese on the bagel. This must be the norm, as when I visited Chicago last week the same thing happened there. So you have to ask for light cream cheese. Not to be confused with low-fat cream cheese. They have multiple varieties of cream cheese. It’s the same people working in the morning so they get to know their customers. You get to see a lot of the same customers at the same time in the morning. I think that says a lot about the customer base.

I wanted this to be really good. I’ve eaten here a few times and I’m always disappointed. Do I expect too much? I don’t know. Like it’s not awful. I am so disappointed here that it might as well be awful, though. These bagels are the same quality as frozen, grocery store bagels. Or dunkin donut bagels. Save yourself the trouble of going hear and just make some toast with good bread. Listen, the other thing about this place is that it’s too expensive. Like you pay more for a garbage bagel. As if. This place is not so bad that I’d rather lick a trashcan. It’s just not good. I’d rather drive down Columbia Pkwy to Bruegger’s. Like if my car was in the shop and I was having a bagel emergency, I’d go here. And I’d be disappointed.

Dirtiest eatery I’ve eaten at in recent memory. Dust everywhere. Vents on ceiling disgusting. Only person sitting, about an hour after opening on Labor Day, and every table full of crumbs, food, greasy smudges. Bakery case glass was so dirty that it was difficult to see product. 6 employees working — besides cook! Gabbing and eating! Waiting for huge influx of customers, I guess. I ordered a sausage/egg/cheese sandwich on a toasted plain bagel. The bagel was doughy/undercooked in middle, sausage was tasteless and bagel was barely warm, with not a single browned spot on the bagel! When I told employees they might want to check toaster settings — that my bagel had NO toasted spots on it at all and was barely even warm… I was told that next time I should ask for ‘double toasted’. No worries — won’t be a next time.

I love their bagels, cream cheeses, egg sandwiches and muffins. The coffee is very good too. I’m originally from NYC and it reminds me of home.

The bagels did taste good. The muffin I had was extremely stale. I was buying bagels for my coworkers, the price for a dozen is listed as $ 7.19 online but the actual price at the store was $ 10.99. The clerk gave me maple cream cheese instead of the hazelnut that I asked for. It tastes ok, like frosting. I will probably not be back…

Stopped in for some coffee today… Really bummed with what I spent money on. Got the flavor of the month, Michigan Cherry(which Mejier sells in bags, and it’s fabulous), and it was watered down, not very good at all. I also got a caramel icepresso drink which I’m not convinced had any coffee in, and it, too was extremely watered down. Took two drinks and tossed it. I may be back to try the bagels, but won’t be getting coffee again.

Great food, great service(especially Susie, who’s up at 2:30 or 3 to start the show) and wickedly good coffee, especially their dark roast. The many sandwich options there now also include egg white and turkey sausage. And please don’t order the garlic Parmesan bagels. Save them all for me! Big thumbs up on Big Apple bagels.

Very good bagels and muffins. Prices are a little high except for their bagel bundle deals.

Their bagels are very good, but the sandwiches have little variety, way overpriced, and take too long for what they are. The coffee options are nice, and if you sit there all day refilling your cup I’m sure they’d be worth the cost, but as a take-out they’re more than I’d like to spend. If I were fairly judging their bagels alone they’d get 4 stars, everything else? I wouldn’t bother stopping.

I heard great things… Visited around 10am on a Saturday morning and it was very crowded. When it was our turn the lady at the cash registered said hello and asked what we wanted. As I was saying my order she turned her back to me so I stopped and looked at my husband. She turned and said«I’m listening» and so I concluded my order and so did my husband. It took entirely too long for our 2 bagels and 1 latte… About 10 minutes. After receiving our order and waiting so long we were both eager to eat up. The latte was disgusting and I ended up throwing it away because I literally couldn’t drink it. Bagels were good but nothing I couldn’t grab from a kroger bakery. Very disappointed in service and quality.

Updating to say I went back and skipped the microwaved egg situation. This time opted for an everything bagel with onion & chive cream cheese. The bagels are still not my cup of tea really airy and fluffy but the cream cheese was out of this world. Home made with red onion & chives, I found myself licking the wrapper. Would totally come back just for this. A-OK but stick to the classics.

A neighborhood favorite! This place is always crowded, and that’s a good thing! Weekdays or weekends this is a convenient one stop shop for bagels, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and coffee. There is a nice sized dining area that is clean, and it’s easy to get in and out of. Service is fast, bagels are always fresh and the coffee selection is nice as well! I like to make this my first stop when I head out for work in the mornings, or to grab a bite on the weekend mornings. The business also seems pretty active in the community with lots of information about the high school teams that are local and there are quite a few high schoolers(I believe) working there as well. Worth a visit for sure!

I agree with Cindy, their bagels are more of a light fluffy and airy bagel, which I was in the mood for when I visited Big Apple Bagel. Got a Southern Tradition(sausage egg and cheese) on a toasted garlic parmesan bagel, it was pretty good for $ 3.89! U can make it a breakfast value meal w/a coffee for $ 4.39. This place is called big apple bagel but they definitely don’t have nyc’s crazy prices ;) They’ve got a great selection of fresh bagels & cream cheese(both sweet and savory, the chocolate chip cream cheese has generous choco chips in it!) Reminds me those nyc bagel shops w/lots of interesting cream cheese flavors, only if big apple bagels also sells lox too…

Delicious bagels with wonderful cream cheese spreadings. The coffee is always good and hot too. While most of the people that work here are nice, a couple seem too busy or distracted to care.

Love the apple cinnamon crisp and the assortment of cheese bagels. Spreads are also very good. These folks are dear to my heart for the way they«pay it forward.» Rather than throwing away product at the end of the day this gem offers baker’s dozens and end of the day discounts. This is a nice meeting place for friends to chat while snacking. Staff are delightful and not afraid to give you a hand. Thank you for being good neighbors to our community.

I live in Philly but I visit my bf a lot in Cincinnati and have yet to find a better bagel place. Everyone there is so nice, the bagels are fresh and the cream cheese flavors are so unique. The breakfast BLT is unbelievable. I’ve been there countless times and no matter who makes me my sandwich, it’s consistently good. I even called ahead one morning and asked them to freeze some jalapeño cheddar cream cheese for me so that I could swing by and pick it up before I went to the airport and they did it. I love them so much and only wish there was a place as good as this back home. I love BAB!

I am always looking for a good bagel in Cincinnati as I feel that it’s slim pickins around here. Marx Hot Bagels have been the only bagels I’ve had in the Cincinnati area that have really impressed me, but I drove by this place on my way to Anderson recently and it caught my eye. Of course, I promptly read its Unilocal reviews and they were all glowing. On my way back to my hood, I stopped in to grab a bagel. They were closing in a few minutes but the staff was nice and accommodated me. I went for the everything bagel with lite veggie cream cheese(less than $ 3). The bagel was fresh, even though it was the end of the day, and the lite veggie cream cheese didn’t taste«lite» at all! Big Apple Bagels is the only place in Cincinnati I have thus far seen with the cream cheese set up like the delis in NYC. Not sure if there is a technical word or name for it, but the cream cheese is in a display case similar to an ice cream shop and there are huge, cream cheese filled containers inside. The cream cheese is «scooped» similarly to ice cream as well. Does this make a different in how the cream cheese tastes? I have no idea, but it reminds me of a place I love so I’ll take it!

The bagels are delicious without the hard outside that make eating some bagels a struggle. I like that their specials are offered to customers who visit the shop, if you don’t go, you don’t know! The menu isn’t big so you don’t have much to study, but the staff works at a fast clip so either be ready to order or defer to the next ready customer. I’m a big fan of sandwiches and recommend the breakfast Southern Tradition over other sandwiches because you get the most bang for your buck. I think it is odd the breakfast BLT is 3-something and is bacon, lettuce, tomato, your choice of cream cheese on a bagel, but the BLT sandwich is 5 and change is just bacon, lettuce and tomato on a bagel.
