Castle House

A cute store in Hyde Park Square with adorable clothing for babies, little girls, and boys. I got excellent service when I came here. I don’t have previous store credit, so I cannot comment on earlier reviews. I found the staff helpful, and would go back. Of course, the clothes is a little pricey, but that is to be expected.

Castle House is not what it was… new management, with new business practices caring not about fostering longtime repeat customers. Would not honor previous store credits. So, shop the new Castle House and feel unappreciated.

Poor business ethics. We all live in Cincinnati, where we pride ourselves on word of mouth recommendations to keep small boutique shops in business… why? Because big box stores are so impersonal, unfeeling, and have no community identity or loyalty… Castle House must be striving for that national chain type feeling, because their modus operandum is not to create repeat business but rather to walk that all too familiar «bottom line». Had a valid store credit of over a hundred dollars from a return about a year ago, with no expiration date, but they would not honor it. Since store has changed hands, apparently new owner wants to capitalize on the quaint brand, but doesn’t value long time customers. Certainly gave the new owner an opportunity to do the «right thing», and honor the responsibility, but rather, she chose to take the low road, go «big box», and eliminate any chance that we will shop there again. What a shame, neighbors… think again before patronizing these types of shops!

Castle House is the best clothing store for children in Cincinnati! The newly remodeled store has it all. The store is great and they have perfect play clothes, pajamas and shoes. They manage to have it all in a nice store front in Hyde Park square. I can run in and get a Patagonia coat for my son or a special Lili Gaufrette dress and little shoes for the baby. The owner and staff are so helpful if I call ahead they set aside outfits for the kids to try on at home. This specialty service is and attention is not found anywhere! Besides everyday items, we have purchased First Communion and flower girl dresses to Confirmation suits. Although we live close, I would drive a considerable distance to get to Castle House. The carry specialty items unable to be found in other stores. Cincinnati is truly lucky to have a clothing store like Castle House!
