Vicky is the owner of Chaz Boutique and she has an eye for what will make you shine for any occassion. She has altered several gowns for me for different occasions but the latest was the most special of all. It was my wedding gown. I had lost weight and alterations were a must. When the dress was completed along with my persoanl head piece which had to be updated, it was gorgeous and so was I. My Mother who passed November 2009 helped me choose both the dress and head piece many years ago and Vicky,(my friend, confidant and seamstress), blessed me to have a piece of my mom with me as I became a Mrs. This was the best gift I had received during all the events planned up to the wedding date. Priceless. I will never forget. Thank you Vicky, Mrs. Kelly Gunnels — Valines

This place seems to be unique in its model, but something I had been asking for in my wedding planning for weeks. While I ended up finding a dress at a boutique, I could not for the life of me figure out why no one was reselling wedding gowns, especially in the current economy with money needed by those who’d laid out their cash to be married(and had little use for a frilly white get up in everyday life) as well as for those who desired to lay out less in their upcoming nuptials. My future mother in law told me about this place and I decided to check it out on a wedding heavy errand weekend. It’s off the beaten path(for me), has varying hours so they tell you to call in advance for confirmation, and while I really appreciate their existence, it really wasn’t for me in terms of their gowns. My major complaint is the small size of the shop and the fact that there are A LOT of dresses(big dresses), in bags, packed along the walls. It was claustrophobic, and I was also unclear how one would find anything. If I’ve learned anything about dresses, other than their extreme pricing and often ridiculous size(cupcake anyone?), it’s that size in numbers is not consistent, accurate, or helpful. Everything here is organized by size. Maybe if I’d had an appointment the consultant would have been able to guide me; I’m assuming this is true. There is a wall of bridesmaid dresses, shoes, prom/evening dresses, head pieces, flower girl dresses, and mother of the bride dresses. Those pieces held much more appeal, mostly in my ability to see the selection. It’s still crowded, but the veils were $ 50 – 100 vs the $ 300 for a piece of tulle I was offered at the boutique, so I’ll head back to check that out. Chaz Bridal is a great option to spending a small fortune, but I’d recommend an appointment and calling for hours since this is not the same as your standard wedding dress store. That is the point, I realize, but it also requires a bit of a different approach. I’m glad such an option exists in the resale market and look forward to heading their way again.
