PICKLERONI!!! Repeat after me. Pickle. Roni. No other place can make me crave pickles like this. Pickles and pepperoni with salt & pepper is the perfect late night pizza topping. Even the vegetarian pickle pizza is so good. I won’t order anything else. My boyfriend is even a fan even though he swears he hates pickles. Divey place that’s good for grabbing a beer or 2 while you wait for your pie to be made. Or just get a slice from out the window. Just make sure it has PICKLESONIT!

This pizza place is tops! I didn’t know pizza could be considered gourmet but this was. The seasoning I couldn’t tell if it was basil and oregano or what bur it was perfect. The slices are large. The meat pizza had 3 meats and was sinfully delicious. They have delivery and I an so glad Unilocal guided me to them.

So much deliciousness happening here. I got my fantastic slice of pepperoni pizza straight out of the oven — it doesn’t get much better than that. The flavor explosion that happened in my mouth took me straight to a heavenly place. Perfect proportions of dough, cheese, pepperoni, and spices. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It’s a little hole in the wall pizza joint with a clear crowd of regulars there for the cheap and delicious drinks/food. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I was in Good Fellas and then remembered this place existed a couple doors down so I turned around and went here instead. Excellent choice. Make sure to go and get a slice from a freshly baked pie. Nom Nom Nom.

This place’s happy hour is great. I got a beer for a dollar and the pizza was only $ 1 a slice. I walked out paying under $ 5. I’m not sure what the price is outside of happy hour but it’d be a safe bet for a cheap lunch. I caught the reds game and it was a great place to watch. It’s not that it was covered in tvs, but I felt welcome. It feels like a dive and I liked that. The beer selection was good and the bartender was pretty funny. The NY style pizza slices are bigger than your face and it only took 2 to fill me up. They sell them from the window too. Even though this place is only a few years old it made me feel like it has been there forever because I felt so welcome. I recommend and will be back!

Pickle pizza? Way been then anticipated! And way better when you order there then when you get it delivery. Service normally slow and notoriously apathetic– especially so when phone ordering. Wife swears by the garlic knots. And the buffalo chicken grinder was a nice surprise. Overall though, usually our last resort. It never really overwhelms and gives you that satisfying«heck yeah!» when ya eat it.

Some of the best pizza in town. Great and friendly atmosphere Highly recommend. Had the meat lovers pizza and the wife had the veggie lovers and both were good. Everyone in the place made me feel welcomed

Do you like cheap delicious greasy pizza? Do you like to pay $ 5 for a beer and a shot? I do. Stop in and get adequately toasty before you go to some fancy expensive bar across the way.

I have now had pizza three times from Cincy by the Slice under completely different situations and must say that I have been satisfied all three times with the food and the service. The first time I cannot really judge the pizza as I was pretty intoxicated but one of the friendly employees spotted me outside by my car and convinced me not to drive my car and to come in for pizza. Sure they got some business but they also helped me out. I ordered a pizza and an employee offered to call me a cab but I requested they call my wife instead. I got a ride home with a full belly and my wife also got some pizza and was not even angry with me. I do remember that there was sausage on the pizza. The second time, my wife and I were down at Mr. Pitiful’s and I noticed a Cincy by the Slice pizza box sitting inside. I asked about it and they provided me with a menu so that I could order a pizza. It was delivered into Mr. Pitiful’s right to where we were sitting which was awesome service. The third time was just recently when they were celebrating their four year anniversary and had Pickle Pies for $ 4 all day. We got one for carry-out. I was not familiar with this particular pizza but I like pickles so I thought I would check it out. It came with pickles and red onions as toppings. It was a great choice of toppings and I was very happy with it. Now for the pizza. While it’s not the best pizza in town by any means, it is decent pizza. It’s not too greasy like some pizzas and the pizzas themselves are huge and very thin. I I haven’t actually ordered it by the slice but each slice is pretty big. I certainly like the pizza better than any of the chains around and even better than some of the other small local places. The Pickle Pie was a good choice of toppings and I would order it again. I haven’t ever had a drink here but they do have a bar right as you walk in and I noticed that they had a good selection of beer both on tap and in cans and bottles. I will get some pizza here again when I am hanging out in OTR and looking for some late night pizza or looking to get delivery into one of the bars that don’t have food.

I’ve grown to like Cincy by the Slice a little more than when I originally posted my first review. It’s been a combination of me liking it more, and them doing some things to become a better business. First of all, the best thing they could have ever done, they did. They moved the bar from the deep dark depths of the back of the restaurant all the way up front. This not only makes it easier for patrons but adds some life to the bar/restaurant by actually looking open when you walk in. Secondly, they are making better use of the space they have. They put a pool table where the bar used to be and took out some tables. They really didn’t need that many. We usually end up here towards the end of our night and love the chill atmosphere. We are able to talk to the bartender, order a piece of pizza, and wind down after a night out. Not to mention the pizza here seems to have gotten a lot better. Maybe they are cooking it differently, I don’t know, I’m just glad they fixed it. These improved areas plus the ones they already had nailed(free delivery, pickleroni pizza, good beer selection) make for a much better experience at Cincy by the Slice. I’m glad I didn’t swear them off for good because I would be missing out on a solid biz.

The best thing about Cincy by the Slice(besides its good ‘za) is Two-dollar Tuesdays, where you order your pizza by the slice, choose one topping to adorn it, and BAM, two whole dollars later, you’ve got a large piece of pizza that is sure to whet your appetite. A friend and I are a part of the Young Professionals’ Choral Collective(yp/CC) and our rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at the Japp’s Annex. Most weeks in this cycle, my choir buddy and I have found ourselves enjoying Cincy by the Slice for a post-work treat and pre-rehearsal fuel. She typically opts for pepperoni as her topping, while I find myself steering towards green peppers. Top it off with some parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper, and I would be hard-pressed to find a more delicious, cost-efficient treat in the area. Another thing we’ve done is get our pizza to go after rehearsal and met friends on Neon’s patio. CBTS has beer, too, so that’s always an option as well. CBTS is another one of those places that entirely debunks the«there’s no good pizza in Cincinnati» myth, but I think that has more to do with with the fact that people don’t like to get out and try new things.

Is this the best pizza you’ll ever have? Absolutely not Would you even call it good pizza? Eh, yeah, sure. I guess. Nothing special, though. Let’s face it, you’re at Cincy by the Slice because you’ve been drinking all night, and at this point, you really want to seal the deal by eating something that you’ll regret in the morning! Don’t walk into Cincy by the Slice and expect it to be A Tavola. Walk into Cincy by the Slice and expect to have a hangover in the morning. Will I be back? If I have ever have drinks and am starting to get the late night munchies in OTR, absolutely.

I still stand by my initial review but this place has undergone a renovation and I think it is worth updating. The bar that was all the way in the back was a little off putting. People especially the late night crowd wouldn’t see anyone in here, and assume they were closed. The bar has now been moved to the front and there is plenty of seating. They have also added a pool table which provides some great entertainment. Also — their drink selection is pretty stellar. I wouldn’t expect this place to have good quality but they have a lot of local beer on tap and a solid selection of liquor. The staff is always friendly, and they are open super late. We wondered in here on a Sunday at 1:00am and they were still open! Whaaaat? WIN! Also being one of the only places that delivers late night to OTR residents is a huge plus. Overall this place is a solid neighborhood joint and definitely worth checking out.

During a recent visit to Cinci, some friends and I stopped in here because the bar we intended to visit across the street wasn’t open. It was about 15 degrees outside and we had walked from the Horseshoe casino, so we needed a warm building. They had a bar, so we sat down to try a local brew. While enjoying a tasty beer, the bartender and two patrons(more on them later) gave us tips on the best bars and restaurants in the area. That’s right, the bartender of this pizza place recommended other food options when we said we didn’t want pizza. It was great conversation and great service. The two patrons turned out to be band members of a popular local band(Come on Caboose). They told us about a really popular mixology lounge with a famous«Marlboro Man» cocktail. We were intrigued, so they went with us to have one. we sat and had a few drinks and got to know them. The people of Cincinnati are definitely very nice and friendly.

Amazing pizza– by the slice or the whole pie. It also has a full bar so feel free to drink up while you eat up. This pizza is amazing.(And the bartender has a heavy hand.)

The food was a mixed bag for us. The cheese sticks were soggy with oil and very limp, but they tasted decent. The hoagy was excellent and the stromboli was pretty good. The service was very slow and unexceptional. The price was average and comparable to other pizza places. It might be more hopping at night, but at 6 it was deserted and that was a bit off-putting. I would give them another chance, but wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here.

This place is terrible. Came for a show which Cincy canceled. The manager refused to refund my money because it wasn’t controlled by him(which is understandable). But he was a complete jerk to me about the situation. I told him I felt like he didn’t care about his customers and he wholeheartedly agreed. Probably the worst customer service I have encountered in Cincinnati.

Things started out on an awkward — but good — foot when we walked(stumbled) into Cincy By the Slice. Maybe it was too early in the night, but everyone involved seemed a little confused about what we were doing there. My party sort of just wandered around until we realized we were supposed to order at the bar. The guy at the bar sort of acted like we were supposed to conjur some secret code word in order to get a pizza. Eventually, things got sorted out and our pizza arrived in no-time. Goodbye awkward confusion, Hello ooey, goey, put-it-in-my-mouth deliciousness… We slid open the lid of the box with anticipation. A hot waft of cheesy steam milked our salivary glands and released the inner vultures in us all. I can appreciate a good thin-crust attempt and this really hit the spot for my inner vulture. The reason I’m not raving is that there was a couple in my group that ordered calzones. The calzones came out wayyyyyyy later than the pizza… and we’re back for a late night update from Awkward(cue the TV reporter voice). Anyways, if you’re starving — it’s a good option for the taste, price, and convenience, but save yourself the wait and order something standard, like a slice of pizza.

Friendly workers, nice space, mediocre pizza, and way overpriced jukebox(but they did have the current song of the moment: Gangnam Style()) I apologize for any dancing that may or may not have occurred during said song. For those late night«I MUSTPUTSOMETHINGINMYBELLY» cravings, CBtS is probably going to hit the spot. Unfortunately it might come back to haunt you the next morning so be conservative(might be the only time I say that, ha ha) with your toppings or hoagy choice. I will probably be back and hope that I can refrain from ordering jalapenos and banana peppers. P. S. I don’t think you can get chicken as a topping on individual slices. sad face.
